If we load up on exciting young players this summer then get Europa league next season I would be over the moon.
-
I’m expecting him to double down on the style that brought him success (it might tripling down at this point). He needs a good start and isn’t going to trust anything else. I was expecting a busy window but Howe’s comments on 6 transfers being too much last summer have tempered that a bit. I’m a bit concerned he will be resistant to too much change, and I’m reminded of him trying to keep Callum Wilson in the summer. Hypothetically, if we receive a bid for Murphy and the transfer team have a replacement in mind, is he going to say no because Murphy is a trusted player? Hopefully there is someone that can overrule him if necessary.

The commentator equivalent to Mike Dean. It’s all about him.
-
I expect he will feel pressure to start fast next season so will stick to what has worked for him in the past. I’m not expecting any change in approach. Hopefully we don’t fuck up the transfer window this time.

I don’t see Howe changing his style and I don’t see Woltemade becoming an athlete over summer. Another season like this one for him and his value will be demolished. Howe will be under huge pressure right from the start next season, he will 100% back the style of play that made him successful.
-
I think he’ll end up on loan in Germany next season with clauses to make it permanent. I don’t think we’ll get a big enough bid this summer.
-
It’s probably a hardship for them to stay in the stadium for 90+ minutes as well tbf. Usually they listen to the last 10 minutes on the radio on their way home.
-
I don’t think we’re likely to have more than 6 midfielders on the books, so if we want to bring anyone in, someone has to go. Bruno and Miley have to stay. Tonali - probably on his way and should be replaced by a similar player. Joelinton - Still one of our more influential players and I doubt there’s much of a market for him. Ideally I’d like him to stay but have his minutes managed better. Willock and Ramsey - I’d like one of them to make way for a creative/attacking midfielder. It seems unlikely Ramsey will go anywhere yet.
-
I don’t think he’s in our plans, I think we’re hoping to sell him back to Germany. Miley is currently our 3rd/4th best midfielder and 2nd best RB. He’ll be fine for game time.

Around 8/9 of Sunderland’s first XI were bought in the summer.
-
Ugarte would make a serviceable lower half clogger for someone. Hopefully not us.
-
I don’t think Howe was trying to keep Isak. We didn’t receive a decent bid until late in the window. The reason it dragged on was because Liverpool were using dirty tricks to drive down the price.
-
Pretty pointless really. Burnley have been shite but they couldn’t have been anything else, no one could keep them up. Gerrard is favourite for the job, he won’t get them promoted.
-
Our summer should have been mostly planned months ago and our main targets should already be tapped up, you don’t plan it at the end of May.
-
It looks like it took his pace, and he doesn’t have the technical ability or smarts to make up for it. He’s toast.
-
Just loan him out to Turkey every season and forget he exists.

Glasner won the FA Cup? The answer to the question “why risk it” is that we’re becoming a relegation risk, that’s the direction of travel.

I’ll decide at the end of the season, but I’m leaning a bit towards a change. I think the signs are telling me his time here has come to its natural conclusion, so if I was an owner looking to invest a large amount in a squad rebuild this summer, I’d probably overhaul the coaching staff as well. They just haven’t shown enough this season, we’re predictable and our tactics are tired, even our substitutions are incredibly predictable. Everyone knows how to play against us and we’ve had no response. Plus it seems they’re struggling to motivate the players now, I think this happens when a squad and coach have been together for too long. It’s not even that we’ve had an off-season and fell away a bit, we’ve been really shite and it’s not unreasonable to be worried about getting sucked into a relegation battle on the last day. As a fan sentimentality comes into it so part of me wants to give him another chance. Plus most managers are freaks and weirdos, and Howe isn’t. That said, I don’t think I’d predict a very good season next year, even with a squad overhaul, because I expect we’d just be plugging new players into the same tired approach.
-
Yeah I’ve never had much time for it. Brentford lost Mbeumo and Wissa, Bournemouth lost their back line and are even managing well without Semenyo. We’re more than likely going to lose first team players this summer as well.
-
You wouldn’t get a striker or midfielder? If we kept the same squad and only added a RB and GK I would be expecting another bottom half finish, possibly a relegation battle.
-
It’s his agent that’s driving this though, it’s not just randoms on Twitter making up rumours. His comments don’t make sense to me. He’s a goner.

Mukiele lifts his leg to make sure the keeper goes down
-
Surely that includes getting them before they’re mega expensive though. I’m not opposed to it anyway, it would just be odd given we had a value previously that we wouldn’t go beyond.
-
I think he’ll be expensive, much more than we were willing to pay last summer. Considering he hasn’t done much for a year that would be a weird choice. If it’s around £35m (Man City’s deal was worth £31m) then we’re talking about one of the most expensive keepers ever.

Decent player. Great signing if the goal is to finish midtable.
