We could introduce a system of a different coloured card for each type of infraction. This would help the spectator with any confusion over what the ref has blown his whistle for. Blue for verbals, purple for shirt pulling, grey for handball, etc.

Whoever plays at the base of the midfield needs to be able to control games and calm things down when needed, it’s what we’ve always lacked and I think it’s clear now that Bruno isn’t that guy. Even when we’re in good form our games get too chaotic for my liking. I’ve 100% come round to the idea of a DM.

I think summer will be another lowish spending window, lower than usual. The money won’t be there for Bruno and I doubt a better offer will be forthcoming for Joelinton. McTominay and Gallagher are lazy links, and I suspect Onana is getting shopped around because Everton need the money.

The fact he made his reputation in Bielsa’s Leeds team makes me optimistic. Leeds were far more like us stylistically than Man City.
