  1. They are not buying the club to impose their values on you, literally the first announcement that Amanda made tackled all of that
  2. The problem is that you will see anything positive about Saudi as Propaganda, Saudi's themselves defending their own country on twitter are being accused of being state sponsored accounts, and borderline racism against Saudi's/Arab culture seems to be looked at as progressive thinking, i repeat again that both Saudi/the region/and the world in general has a long way to go, a few years ago they were in a much worse place but they are progressing fast and MBS has a huge role to play for that, they aren't going to turn into a country that shares all your ideals and morals overnight, maybe never, but even within your own community you will have people with widely different opinions to you, the message here is that we as people can use this bridge to better connect and understand each other, they want to do good for this club and region.
  3. i live in Bahrain and often visit Saudi for work (it's just a half hour drive from where i live) as well as spend at least one month a year in Newcastle, i really think the fact is there has been years of biased British media outlets such as the Guardian and others painting Saudi (and a lot of the other countries in this region) in a certain way that put a wrong idea in people's minds, i see that regularly when they report on events in Bahrain and my wife (who's Newcastle born and raised) gets calls from her parents asking if she's ok and there's absolutely nothing going on, after visiting a few times they also realized that reality is quite different from what is being reported but i assume its quite easy for someone living so far away from it to see it in a different way. independent internet researchers won't find many people with positive things to say about the region, but those living here are overwhelmingly happy and positive about things, you will always find people speaking in opposition of any country, but the reality is quite the opposite of what is being reported and people here can see that there are many exciting things to look forward to in the future, the Saudi's are incredibly proud people and proud of MBS and what he is trying to do for them, you will even see that for yourselves now, with more and more of them wanting to support both the city of Newcastle and it's club, a lot of them were sharing our fans celebration and are happy that at least one city in the UK isn't trying to paint them as oil rich Arabs with medieval mentality (which couldn't be further from the truth) and i really things that this is a wonderful opportunity to build bridges as people and understand each other away from the media and political agendas. Saudi is not a perfect country by any means, but where can you really find a perfect country or even business? the UK actively participated in a completely wrong and unnecessary war in Iraq that has caused and is still causing death and suffering to millions, and some of the worst human rights conditions in recent history and not one person was really held accountable, not even for the unnecessary death's of UK soldiers who shouldn't have been there to begin with. But putting politics a side, i think fans and people associated with the city should absolutely feel happy that they have owners who genuinely want to invest in the future of both the club and the city, i also found it really nice that you've got a consortium made of Muslim, Jewish and Christian (assuming Amanda is one), owners is taking the club, as well as the fact that her husband is Iranian working with the Saudis, which you don't see often, the message about this being a long term project and the amount of good it will bring to area that has long been neglected should mean everyone should get behind this, i also thing that these will never be a "perfect scenario" for getting taking over unless the fans themselves managed to find that amount of money and bought the club, but even that could turn into a disaster, so lets get behind all of our new owners and support the team with passion and pride, and lets hope the best years in the history of both the club and the city are coming, we need to be united in our support as everyone else will through everything they have at us.
  4. That 5-0 win over United and Albert's chip was the reason i started supporting this club, i think i was only 9 at the time and being from so far away (Bahrain) and not having any physical connections to the club i don't think i really understand what i was getting myself into everyone else was support Man Utd, Real Madrid etc.. and i chose Newcastle Fast forward 23 years late i still live in Bahrain but got the chance to be there for all the home games that season we finished 5th while studying my masters, saw both Ben Arfa wonder goals from the stadium, bought a house in Newcastle, married a geordie lass and can honestly call it my second home, even before the takeover it was the best decision i've ever made
  5. Also saying all 19 clubs is a bit of a lie, Man City are owned by UAE's investment fund and are one of Saudi's closest allies, i seriously doubt they will raise any complaints about it.
  6. The Guardian will be our number one enemy going forward, they absolutely hate all the countries in the GCC region
  7. What a time that was, teams ran straight past us as if they weren't there I actually attended the incredibly random game of Bahrain vs Curacao a couple of days ago and Anita was playing in midfield for Curacao, we smashed them 4-0 and he was taking off after a disaster of a performance
  8. Great Job to those who kept this thread going, there will continue to be people who will try to make this look like a bad thing or don't want us to enjoy it as much as we do, but pay no mind to them.
  9. I'm not that big of a fan of Conte, seems to always create trouble with the hierarchy and always has his demands, for some reason i would love for it to be Zidane, his name and presence will really show the sort of club we are wanting to become (not sure how good is his English though). But to be completely honest, i would be happy even if we just remove Bruce and put Jones in charge, i want to say no one is worse than what we have right now but the Ashley Era proved that it can always get worse than worst
  10. Ticks literally all the boxes in 3 minutes
  11. I would love to have been there in Newcastle and with the rest at SJP, but at least i'm on the other side of this takeover in the GCC, it's been making all the news headlines here and we'll start having many news fans from this region.
  12. This is fucking incredible, honestly couldn't be happier.
  13. I really still think it's the media realizing that there isn't much on during the international breaks so they bring this shit back, i don't really believe the Saudi's are that desperate to buy us. i would love to be wrong though..
  14. Everytime the media has a slow period they start bringing this up because they know how fucking desperate we are
  15. They were founded by Russian KGB agents but honestly looking at their players they are about as modest as you can get playing at this level, so really well done to them.
  16. Saint Maximin is in another world than the rest of our teams.
  17. Great striker and and even better person, i was lucky to be there for his first season and have some great memories of some of his goal, wish him all the best.
  18. He has two players with one of the worst end product/movement in the league playing alongside him in Joelinton and Almiron, so you can't really fault him sometimes from not being able to release someone.
  19. I was waiting for quite a while for Woodman to play for us and really hoped he'd be our goalkeeper for a long time, but after his horrible start to the season and Darlow's impressive return i think we won't see him for a while, good performance from Karl today.
  20. He's obviously too good to be be playing for us but i think he deserves a call up to the next France squad, might up his value even more when he finally decides he's had enough playing with all the shit around him.
  21. This game was there for the taking and he puts on Emil Krafth to replace Manquillo with 10 minutes to go.
  22. The performance today is a good Joelinton performance, which considering how incredibly the bar has been set for him is still not good enough for this league, he does a lot of things right but the minute we get into the final third he shits himself, similar to Almiron who has been doing the same since he joined, ASM is the only one who attacks with real intent.
  23. The good thing with Barcelona is that they have a proper academy so even if you merge some of the youngsters with the more experienced players the team is still going to be able to win games and compete for titles.
  24. So we are not going to give the Parody signing his own thread?
  25. I thought he was doing quite well there? they seem to be a bit struggling at the moment.
