Ronaldinho, Neymar, Luis Fabiano, Paulinho all flew in two days ago from Brazil after having played domestic games. I don't think it's a matter of being f***ed to run around, it's more a fact of lack of energy and for Ronaldinho it's a matter of being f*** old and a c***. Why are you slating Ronaldinho? Your genius of a manager that you named your account after is the one that thinks its a good idea to pick him in 2013. Friendly.

Valbuena is a top footballer and always has been.

It should be a great encounter, but I think we are the better team and we should win. I just hope that the youth of this team can deal with the weight of expectation now that they have beaten the favourite.

I think the Americans should get the drunk old white man that is always calling the Ravens. Dan Dreddreff or something like that. He rambles on incoherently for the entire course of the game.

Rooney 2004 aside, Rooney has never been particularly dynamic for England. He has been a very good footballer since he arrived on the scene over a decade ago, but it hasn't translated for some reason.

I don't even think Ameobi is a particularly bad Premiership footballer. He is just an average one that is now rapidly declining at the age of 31 because of debilitating injury and inadvisable changes to his physique.

Why is he a donkey? Because we have replaced him with a superior player? The treatment of this guy by supporters of his own club is frankly an embarrassment and shameful. Incidents like this are why I am against alcoholism and do not partake of alcohol other than a few sips for public appearance. Even still, I have been in a fair share of physical battles. Luckily, I have been competent and/or sober enough to avoid being knocked from my conscious. Given what I read in the "chat" section of this very message board, most of you are hardly in a position to be judgmental regarding this sort of thing. I am happy the boy is alright.

Definitely just Suarez does this. Not every single player that has ever played football.

How and why do footballers take so much vicious abuse on twitter and continue to post as though it isn't happening? I was looking at Osaze Odemwingie's twitter as he was supporting SE during the game and every thing he's tweeted for the last week has received an endless supply of people either taking the piss out him or directly insulting his personal character. Why would continue to deal with this every day?

Have to agree. Doesn't not make him a great manager suddenly but I reckon this season will hurt him - providing they don't win the Champions League. Hurt him in what way? In securing another highly compensated and prestigious position? I disagree. In the opinions of irrelevant unknowns from the internet? This is possible.

It is a unique experience when your team plays against Tiote. I was always scared that this guy would try to kill some of our players. I was relieved that Mikel Obi finished the match with two working legs. At the same time, he is a competent passer of the football. He makes us more formidable in a way that Perch, Anita, and even Sissoko do not. If we play him properly, I will very pleased to have him back.

Superbowl tonight. My team is in the game. I will be sick just as I am now. Mali are a good side. If we go and play big-man football we will lose. We need the same hunger and passion of today.

YEEESSS!! I doubted Keshi, but I was wrong. All my trust is with the Big Boss. I still think the likes of Taiwo and Odemwingie would have added great depth, but he was right to bring the local boys. Oboabona from Sunshine Stars quieted Droga and Sunday Mba from Warri Wolves resigned them to their fate.
-
Emenike! I am so pleased by the first half. We have to keep playing at this level and even higher. The young boys are not scared! Barry is the only real weak link for Cote D'Ivoire. We have to continue to try and take advantage of him and pressure him. However, we surrendered last second equalisers in our first two matches. I am still nervous.
-
Coaches plans, you can tell. It is a good idea for them because so much of our attacking play is based on Mikel playing good balls to the forwards who take men on. Rehashing their battle from last season as well.
-
Emenike! You must do better than that!

We've started quite well int his game. The two teams look quite even so far. This match will be tight. It really is somewhat embarrassing that this match between two of the continents most famous teams with plenty of star power is barely half full.
-
Anita isn't an attacking player though, i keep saying it and it keeps falling on death ears. He's a straight up DM and the only reason he was playing so far forward before because he was more creative than any other player we had fit and quite frankly was quicker and technically better too. When he plays DM( mostly from Ajax days) he hardly goes past the half way line, he just wins the ball gets it and gives it in a very economic manner in a Busquets style if you will. It really does worry me how poorly he's being used and it depresses me that Perch is in front of him as he could do what Perch has done in last couple of games and better in his sleep. I have not seen him used correctly since he joined this club and hope that changes in the near future. What about his performances thus far in England lead you to believe this, though? I understand how he played in Holland, but Afonso Alves played liek Robert Van Persie in Holland, it doesn't always translate especially from that league in particular. The calibre and physicality of players is of a higher level in England.

Mali sneak by host South Africa on penalties. No West African team has won the tournament since Nigeria did in 1994 (amazing considering how many West African players play in the top leagues of Europe. That will change in 2013. All six of the remaining sides are West African.

This boy was flying forward at every opportunity today. I think he was the second best player on the pitch. It is strange what a bit of confidence can do for a footballer.
-
Obviously the player isn't consistently great as he showed today (no one is), but that was an incredible home debut. Anyone who'd ever seen him play for Toulouse knew we had a good player here. I am very excited to see what we can accomplish with him in the team.
