They might not be going yet, have to beat the Ivory Coast. We will know though in plenty time to line up someone in January if the do qualify. Bit risky though as i'd imagine clubs will hike up the price knowing we are going to be short. I cannot understand this line of thought. Every single club across Europe and the world are trying to bankrupt us. The only time teams hike prices is when you are trying to take one of their first team players int he dying hours of a window. CAF's qualifying systems are always mad. I suppose NUFC will benefit, but how have they devised a process where two teams who were in the last tournament are made to fight for one spot in the next. It makes little sense.

Vurnon Anita (now playing for RKC Waalwijk)
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to ponsaelius's topic in Football
Is Simpson still going? If not, I think the management will be happy with the versatility of Anita, Taylor, and Ferguson as fullbacks. It seems to me the priority would be another forward instead of the right back we've wanted. -
US Soccer featuring Canada Occasionally I guess.

America's first show of attacking intent in the entire match. Every time we changed over, Mexico was posted all around the US box. Class reaction from Howard. -
Not sure if this means anything, but Azteca is 90 percent empty ten minutes before the start of the match. The must be following the Abuja stadium pricing model. You'd figure demand is high enough to fill the place.

Exactly why i'm happy about it, with RVP and Song seemingly leaving Arsenal are back to square one and Spurs have lost Modric and Adebayor for different reasons. Even Chelsea are quite frankly a very unpredictable team, it could go insanely well for them who they could f*ck up like last year. The race for 4th i see becoming very competitive. Newcastle won't be involved in it, unfortunately.

Welbeck and Sturridge should just settle at whatever midtable/Europa League club they will eventually go to, for the good of England. Neither of them will make it at their current clubs.

I'm the only person in my family, male or female, that doesn't snore or have mental dream spasms during their sleep.

I don't think Johnson is enough of a goal threat, tbh. If we put a player on the left of a 4-3-3, he needs to be scoring 10-15 goals a season, imo, if we will be a European competitive side. If we plan to win many games, the goals will have to come from somewhere other than three players (two of whom may leave for a month if they beat Cote D'Ivoire) and the occasional Shola match.

I used to criticise all of these young athletes throwing away their potential, when I was younger. This changed when I reached 18-20, and saw almost all of my mates throwing their lives away, just with much less consequence and effect on their future earnings potential. He's an idiot, this I am sure of, but I understand why.

Hope the guy still makes it, tbh. He's still just 21 and many people, still are not used to responsibility at this age. He wasted the early part of his career, but he still has the physical attributes to make himself useful if he can focus.

Off-topic, Diarra was horrendous last season. He's on the decline and high wages as well. OM supporters are literally filled with glee at his departure. He didn't even seem to be trying most of the season.

Put Sigurdsson on the bench, and start Lennon. The side looks much better. Neither Parker nor M'Vila are pure holding players or destroyers who just sit back anyway. Both of them like to advance into higher positions when the opportunity presents itself. I hope we don't sell Remy to them. They'd be just a strong as before if they get him. The strikers have been lacking for years.

What has this study proved? No one enjoys football to the point that they want their wife to die. I'm not married, yet I have to say that exploding images of an actual human who I am physically and mentally connected with and is meant to carry my child, would disturb me more than James Perch having shin splints.

I hate commentators who make boxing analogies with football. There is actually no sport where this is less applicable. The score is 0-0, who has been landing knockout blows, you mad old man?

Manchester City's kit looks like the Arsenal retro from when they closed Highbury. Funny, for all they've spent, Chelsea's XI is essentially the first team from last season with Kalou switched for Hazard (which is admittedly a nice upgrade).

PFA and FA call for improved behaviour in football
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to Dave's topic in Football
I've never understood the desire to rid football of this sort of thing. It is really this difficult to punish the outrageous and the violent, while still allowing players to be emotional, express their opinion, and contest decisions? -
The last few days have not been kind to him.

Amazing chance. There is actually a 2 yard radius around him in all directions. Simple chance, that must go on target.

Some time during the last decade, Brasil and Spain switched identities.

Rafael is a terrible player.
-
Diego Reyes, pls. Gio pls. Dos Santos? He hasn't had a relevant moment at club level in this decade and failed to stick at Galatasaray and Santander. Rubbish.

Brazil are never going to win this. They come so close every time.

Memories of Zulte Waregem. It is a fantastic accomplishment for them to have made it this far. They deserve credit for their accomplishments given their humble background. We should beat them without mercy.

If they played him he would do alright IMO, obviously they won't though. As I said earlier, Moses will be a good player at that level if they actually give him time on the pitch. I like his game, and his individual skill, physical attributes, and goal threat would be extremely useful for an impact player. If Abramovich continues buying everything in sight, he can enjoy the massive wage packet as he spends his mid-20s on loan to clubs like Norwich and Sunderland

You've forgotten the most important part of this. He will not have been on high wages in either London or Swansea. Being given 60,000 to sit on the substitutes bench is a much different prospect than doing it on youth player wages. Most players will think they are good enough to make it at the top level. He's 23, had a breakthrough last term, and is now in the spotlight playing for his country. Thoughts about not being good enough for the top level are not is his mind right now. I feel the same about Victor Moses. He really has potential and is making himself a fixture in the future of the national team, but I question whether his proposed move to Chelsea is a good one. If their squad stays as is, he can fill his pockets and essentially replace what Kalou did for them (probably doing a better job as well). However, if Abramovich is going to spend crazy amounts every window to try and compete with the likes of Man City, PSG, Real, and Barcelona, the move may be a waste of time.
