  1. I always find it amusing how these foreign posters begin to copy your dialect after they have been here for a small duration of time.
  2. Why is Cisse still on? Why would Shola replace Ben Arfa instead of our struggling ten million pound striker?
  3. This is ridiculously simple so far. Ben Arfa and Cisse look like 14 year olds who have stealthily entered a primary school match. If Colo comes off, we could still lose this.
  4. Okocha was one of the greatest failures and underachievers that I have seen in my life following football. I can count on one hand the players I have seen who were more naturally skillful and could simply make the football do what they wanted with such ease. It says a fair amount about him that he accomplished absolutely nothing in his club career and captained his country to complete and utter failure. I love him, but it disgusts me to even talk about the man. Admittedly he lacked any of the other things necessary to be a great footballers other than actual than skill on the ball, but he still wasted his gifts. Messi isn't from northern Ireland, btw. He plays for one of the world's best football nations. When you play for a country like Argentina, I would argue that international dominance is a prerequisite to being considered the "best".
  5. That is nonsense. Carroll was easily our most important players while he was here last season. Enrique was also consistently in the team and consistently performed at an exceptional level. It is revisionist to say otherwise.
  6. I know, after all they have won 4 games at home and lost twice as many. True, but we have won the last two home games, Sunderland and Chelsea. Forget Tchoyi, we have new secret weapon for the last few games, Fortuné, he will run and run around your central defenders. He has been brilliant. Fortune actually has played well of late, but he is one of the worst strikers in the division, so I am sure this will stop. He was rubbish in France, and has been rubbish for 95% of his four years with WBA. There has never been a player that scared me less than Fortune. Have you heard, they are getting rid of cheap booze! lol Honestly mate, wor strikeforce puts Dobie & Killer Hughes to shame. I agree, great forwards you have, best outside the top 4, will they deliver, will they get the service? Time will tell, doubt there will be more than a goal in it though. What is this "top 4"? Are Liverpool included?
  7. It looks like something I could buy for 1000 naira from from the boys that are selling phone cards on the street. Very cheap.
  8. Madness to think that Adu is less than a year older than myself (by official American record anyway. I've grown five inches since 2003-4, while Freddy has only had his hairline recede. No one questions this because of his nationality). He has been in the spotlight so long that it is hard for me to think of him as a peer. I hadn't yet kissed a woman and he was playing against professional footballers. Has he shown anything in MLS? I really think he can make it in Europe if he adjusts his attitude towards the game.

    Joey Barton

Dyer is on a one year contract and surely will not be on very high wages. I don't think he's totalled a season's worth of matches in the last 5-6 years. I would think that Chinedum, Zamora, and Cisse would be fairly easy to eliminate, anyway. They would probably have to keep SWP and Barton (unless West Ham are promoted).
  10. "Come on ______, Come on ______, Come on ______, Come on ______"
  11. We were never going to catch Chelsea. This Tevez story is excruciating.
  12. This Chelsea match is vitally important and actually fairly interesting. I do not understand why the stadium is near silent.
  13. Some of you have ridiculous anger problems. "He'll end up a legless, jailed heroin addict, and I will laugh at his fate because he made a serious of poor decisions before turning 21." Completely mad way of thinking. There is no reason for him to be here. He's not good enough for where the club is now. Clearly, he's not a very intelligent player or person, and his presence would only negatively influence other young players here. Time for him to go to a lower league side/a bit of jail and try to sort himself out. It's not too late, but it is getting critical.
  14. I thought Bennet and Morison got behind us a number of times when we went forward a bit too recklessly. Especially as Perch is not great positionally and Guthrie has a tendency to be nowhere.
  15. I wouldn't be happy yet. Not after seeing Antonio Puerta walking away from the pitch after his first episode. Not after seeing people die in hospitals quickly after they "recovered". Still, this is the most encouraging news one could expect to hear after the images of him laying unconscious on the WHL pitch flashed around the world Saturday. Depending on what his condition was, he still may need heart transplant or any other number of operations to ensure he can lead a fruitful life. The journey is only starting. My prayers remain with him and those closest.
  16. Norwich are terrible. Nothing about them is acceptable or Premiership standard. I cannot believe that they are comfortably safe and beat us 4-2.
  17. It's exactly things like that and his run in our box (but, but Williamson something like it!) earlier that is stopping me joining the 'burn him, burn Pardew as a witch!' crowd. I watched him for years in OM and he didn't make a habit of doing stepovers in the penalty box. He hasn't been doing these sorts of things here for the most part either. Maybe he just awoke this morning and decided he wasn't ever going to clear the ball.
  18. The change was warranted and the formation has not changed at all. Increased solidity is important.
  19. Who told him it was alright to pass the ball across our own penalty like that? Is he mad?
  20. Get the feeling that its not supposed to be asymmetrical like that. Just what does Simpson do that Santon doesn't do better? Simpson is notably better at being in the general area of where he is supposed to be positioned, something Davide has struggled with.
  21. I have no idea what Guthrie is trying to do. Holding on to the ball too long and continuously trying overly ambitious balls when in possession. Jonas cannot actually defend at all, but he is putting in a great amount of running and has been very good when coming forward late. The problems will arise (as they did for Argentina) when the other team actually has enough of the ball to attack him consistently, but it may work for a match like this.
  22. Jonas played full back against Nigeria in the World Cup and was raped viciously and constantly. I don't want him there.
  23. Is there any reason to believe or not believe what John is saying? I am not blessed with information regarding Justin's true sexual preference and John would have more knowledge than me (and his daughter). I've no opinion on the quotes, but it would be better if they just let the man rest in peace. His soul was tortured enough during his Earthly life.
  24. Given his age, I would speculate HCM. Possibly the most terrifying thing for me to think about as a young athlete. This sort of thing seems to disproportionately affect African athletes for some reason. We must improve testing and prevention by all means.
