  1. Did the thread title not give it away? Official BWFC ‏ @OfficialBWFC Reply RT Retweet Favorite · Open Fabrice Muamba has today (April 16) been discharged from hospital. (Someone jumped the gun on the previous page-JH ) It looks like he has lost quite a bit of weight.
  2. I think the second leg will be either 2-1 Barca or 3-1 Barca. I think Barcelona should dominate possession and be more decisive in front of goal at home, but I have no trust in their backline at all. I honestly believe Chelsea will carve out dangerous chances whenever they manage to get forward. Should be a brilliant game, imo. It is set up brilliantly and can go either way.
  3. The interruption of the stripe around the number completely destroys any positive quality the American kit.
  4. One point from the next two matches could win them the thing. At this point of the competition any end result is possible. No matter anyway, if we our remaining five matches we will finish third in all likelihood. This is all that needs to be considered. Tottenham are in free fall, Chelsea are occupied (also lacking the depth to compensate), and Arsenal are having September flashbacks, it is there for us as the form team.
  5. Neither Xavi or Iniesta were brilliant, either tbf. It was all rather tight and scrappy once every one got in front of Chelsea's penalty area, Barca didn't really show the quality to break down Chelsea's midfield three and defenders through the center.
  6. How did they deserve to lose? Because they defended poorly, failed to break down a disciplined opponent consistently, and failed to finish when they did. They didn't play to the highest level, they lost without controversy, and now they have 90 minutes to reverse their misdeeds. Any other interpretation is nonsensical.
  7. It is a bit unbelievable that they've not had one for so long. Has to be nearly 20 games.
  8. The Irish accent of the commentator is mildly disconcerting.
  9. Moyes has trouble managing anyone who doesn't run a marathon during the match.
  10. Why were Chelsea pushing so far forward? Obi and the two centrebacks were the only players in vaguely defensive positions with a two goal lead in the second half.
  11. You can do a lot with six inches. Should have watched this on American television, ITV coverage is atrocious.
  12. Is Frank Bruno slurring his speech from shots to the head, or is this the way that he actually speaks?
  13. Don't forget he is Nigerian. The guy is probably 62.
  14. The match has no direct effect on us, imo. The winner only receives one more match, which is actually an enjoyable trip (they wn't even leave London) to Wembley to crush Liverpool. I don't think it is the sort of thing that will matter at this point of the season.
  15. How has Campbell been doing? I know Lorient supporters have enjoyed him. He hasn't started much, often played as a substitute. When I've seen Lorient highlights he looks a ridiculous talent, but just extremely raw. Still too many poor decisions and mistakes. He would be equal to Walcott and Arsenal's second best striker if he came over now, though.
  16. Joel Campbell scores a fantastic goal! 2-0 to Lorient! They will celebrate the goal, but the real celebrations will be taking place in Pairs! Former NUFC target Olivier Giroud equalises within 20 seconds! Montpellier have a life line!
  17. Arsenal loan star Joel Campbell misses an open goal for Lorient against Montpellier. Still 0-0. Actually, it is now 1-0 Lorient. Goal by Arsenal legend Jeremie Aliadiere. Actually, it wasn't. Jeremie put in the cross.

That summer that we sold our two most creative players (Niang, also the best goal scorer in France and Ben Arfa) and spent 18 million on Gignac did start a downward spiral.

Abedi Pele A win today could somewhat salvage a wretched season. Looking at the team, it isn't that bad, no reason we should have such terrible results.

I don't care how much money you have. It is difficult to actually win the league when you actually change managers in the middle of it. Combining this with the massive player turnover and general chaotic nature of much of this season, it would actually be something of an achievement if they beat out settled teams like Lille and Montpellier. As Disco stated, this season is more of a prelude to their inevitable dominance and monopoly of the league and European places. They didn't want to go down this path with Kombouare.
  21. Think QPR are the best of the teams in the relegation rubbish and their home form has been spectacular. They actually have some very good players, imo, but they've just been unbalanced and chaotic the whole season. Surprised at Man U. A win tonight would have finished everything, but now the title is very much back in play.
  22. Commentators confusing one Black player with another. This happens at least five times per match.

Missed the big match today with other engagements, but another massive win for Montpellier today against OM which puts them top of the table by three points along with a goal differential advantage. Meanwhile, Marseille have failed to win in twelve consecutive matches in all competitions. TWELVE. The last victory was over Internazionale in February. The cup final is on Saturday, and I cannot say I am brimming with confidence. Menez, Nene, and Pastore are still more threatening than 90 percent of attack in the league.
  24. I am not going to mention what I thought might have happened knowing his condition and seeing that a thread had been made on the man. God forbid. As always, I wish him nothing but success in what will be a long, arduous recovery process. God bless.
