Remy is not worth what we will be made to pay for him. I was disappointed in him given how much he cost. He did show improvement as Europe moved towards spring, tbf to him, but he still never looked like a player worth fifteen million Euros. Given his improvements and high cost, I could not see OM releasing him for anything other than a large fee. We would also be a step down as he was being pursued by Spurs and clubs in France with real financial muscle. He also has a heart condition.

Kuyt is actually a decent comparison. He is a quick, strong player that is a fighter on the pitch and always gives full effort. This season he lost his confidence in front of goal, but he was very prolific for PSG last season and Sochaux in the past. He's not as technically gifted as someone like Gameiro, which is probably why he struggles when confidence is low. (similar to Oba) He was a monster at Sochaux. Not a great player, but a good Premiership striker, imo. If we can get him at a lower price, it would be a good acquisition, imo. morgs is far too harsh. Good mentor for Nile as well: http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/9141/n1447590482302269671380.jpg

What gave you that impression? Reading what Toulouse and Lille supporters had to say about him on message boards/below articles. As well as getting rave reviews from a couple of "Ligue 1 people" (for example James Eastham - scout) on Twitter. I would be quite displeased if OM or NUFC brought in Risse. Average player who is aging. It is not surprising that M'Bengue is low on this list. Mathieu is a bigger name who was in essentially the same position that M'Bengue is now a few years ago, has moved on to bigger things, and is still relatively young. Tremoulinas, despite being a bit older, has been a better player in Ligue 1 than Cheik. I would be happy for us to sign him if OM get M'Bengue.

Gameiro was not a massive name. The majority of you had never heard of the guy until three weeks ago. Ba and Erdinc are both very good players, though both have gone through difficult and turbulent periods at different points of their careers. I would be pleased with signing either of them, though I feel like we could look for more of a definite success considering the sums of money that have been left in our pockets.

To PSG? He is a fan isn't he? (Poet and all that, although it was a serious comment). In addition to him being supporter, PSG is a much bigger club than Lorient and has a lot of money to spend in it's attempt to break into the top 3 or win the title next season.

Diaby would walk into your team.

Clichy isn't actually good at anything other than being fast. He doesn't defend well and has little to no quality going forward despite his pace. Arsenal's left sided Danny Simpson.

Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)

 It's a hell of a joke, tbh. I've been laughing hysterically for five minutes. Such a ridiculously out of place comment. -
Regardless of who we bring in, it would insanity to discard our emotional leader because we have brought in better players. Maybe next January when the new ones have adjusted and Nolan has been marginalised, we could look at doing something like this. Otherwise, a club at our level for anything less than an exorbitant fee is stupidity.

How is Guadeloupe allowed to compete in this? It's just an overseas department of France. I'm rather sure it is not a member of FIFA, either. Really though, it could be a very strong team if all the players with roots in the area were to appear for them. Many well-known Black French Footballers have heritage there.
-
Does it? I'll probably watch the inevitable US-Mexico final, but thw rest is just too poor.

Ah, I now see the investigation is related to a fifth goal when we were 4-0 up. Bloody hell! This was blatantly fixed then. Neither team had interest in playing anymore. We were doind oles waiting for him to blow and he literally continued the match until they had an attack and blew his whistle as soon as it touched a Nigerian in the box. Cannot believe these Nigerien referees. We shouldn't have let them im our country. Everything about this match was a disaster for us other than the great result and performance. It will again be a long time before top sides deal with playing locally in Naija again .
-
Something was wrong with this referee. we we're joking about it at the time, but it was really strange some of the decisions he made. Especially the end of the match when he added 9 minutes(to a 4-0 friendly ! ) and gave Argentina a ridiculous penalty in the last minute because the ball hit Ayila's groin. Performance of Argentina obviously questionable, but more explainable through motivation and other factors.
-
F****** bizarre end to the match. Referee decides to add five minutes of stoppage time for no apparent reason, continues the match until the 9th minute for no apparent reason, and then gives Argentina a penalty for no apparent reason. Everything about this match makes no sense. No excuse tbh. They were a disgrace.
-
3-0. The lack of interest from Argentina is embarrassing, but I'm still enjoying the hell out of this. All the pain Argentina has put us through.
-
Ah we just scored Good play from Joel Obi and Ike Uche with the lucky finish after deflection off Garay. edit: 2-0 This is an awful match, tbh. Referee from Niger gave us a VERY soft penalty. This Argentina team just want to get the hell out of here, I think.
-
Watching the Nigeria-Argentina friendly in Abuja right now. It is a very weak Argentina squad, but I still expect us to be beaten anyway. We've put out a fairly strong team anyway: Enyeama, Okonkwo, Taiwo, Yobo, Ambrose, Mikel, Joel Obi, Kalu Uche, Ike Uche, Anichebe, Nsofor A few decent players in there, I hope Siasia can put together a good team.
-
N'Zogbia would actually make a lot of sense as he could provide cover at left back when Enrique is gone.
-
 Sorry, but he was the time he joined us. Without doubt tbh. He wasn't. He never has been. A special talent, who has had periods when he's been sublime at Lyon and OM, but he's never consistently dominated at the top level. He can be a great player if he doesn't allow this injury and attitude issues to hamper him.
-
I don't think he has ever been sufficient, tbh. We should try to shift him to one of three promoted sides. He looks decent because he's a bit of a ball player ( and we have very few of those), but he doesn't provide much of anything.

Barcelona win Champions League Final 10/11
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to Taylor Swift's topic in Football
Right, but they were disgraceful in the Madrid matches and were gifted the first leg by atrocious refereeing. Much the same against Arsenal. They were berated after both. The incidents with Mourinho are not forgotten. Today is their coronation, but the outcome of yesterday's match will not have changed entrenched opinions on Barca. -
Insomnia, Gameiro, and Gervinho would all have to be very opportunistic signings on our part. All three are hot properties throughout Europe at the moment and you would think higher clubs would be in for them. The higher league is obviously a pull factor, but at the pices being thrown around I would be amazed if no one else comes in.

Barcelona win Champions League Final 10/11
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to Taylor Swift's topic in Football
In this match, the referees haven't assisted them (if anything Man U should have had a man booked in the first 30 minutes) and they haven't dived or cheated very often. Why would anyone concentrate on anything but their good performance? -
Football's greatest - where does Lionel Messi rank?
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to Dave's topic in Football
If he eats well (and uses modern training techniques) and lives with dignity, there is no reason for him to stop playing at 31. It should be more like 10 years at least.
