He's always been a very classly and talented player, but at no point has he been a great goalscorer. I think he'll continue to perform wheverer he is, but the past tells me the goal return will not be as substantial. This is in reference to Odemwingie, btw.

I feel as though Nolan would don the colours if we were in a position similar to the likes of Wigan or Wolves. He is being left out for precaution. Just as Tiote is being left out for precaution. Why make them play in meaningless fixtures, when you are only increasing the chances of their inavailability for ones that are important in terms of the club achieving their goals? The CIV comparison makes absolutely no sense.

He's appeared in 26 matches in the Premiership this season and has been booked 14 times. He's appeared once in the FA Cup and was sent off in that match. From a disciplinary standpoint, he is one of the worst players in the league (statistically). I would say he is more likely to be booked in these last two matches than anyone else on our team or the league as a whole. It is a stupid risk when taking this into account.

I am going to love next season with OM. Both of those kits are simply fantastic.

they take it very, very seriously it seems. Even in a nation like France, the Europa League is not prioritised. When the likes of Montpellier are putting out reserve sides, that nation has little interest in winning. It's the same in England as many other countries. Why exert so much effort to qualify, only to push it to the side? Credit to the Portuguese (and the Spaniards) for making this tourney worthwhile.

I don't think anything Manchester United can put in the centre of midfield will be able to cause Barca any trouble. They are extremely average in this area of their team (maybe fourth or fifth best in England), and they don't really have much steel in addition to the rather pedestrian nature of them going forward. It speaks volumes about their management (and the dysfunction of Arsenal/Chelsea) that they lead Premiership with no dynamic play in this region. Unfortunately, they are going against the best midfield configuration in the world and will be flogged publicly.
-
Because everything is static and nothing changes. Yeboah is undoubtedly a better player than Gyan right now. Would you not agree?

I can't see M'Bengue only costing 5 million pounds. Other high quality clubs will be in for and he has generally been considered one the top young defenders in Ligue 1 the past few seasons.
-
Diarra is not a world class player. Distinct lack of composure for a holding midfielder.
-
It's not especially surprising. Portsmouth obviously had no chance or intention of immediate promotion given their wretched financial straits. It is a positive that they have survived as a club. Burnley and Hull were both essentially Championship sides bar a few players. I would not expect Blackpool to come straight up when they are relegated and lose their one or two stars.
-
f*** knows?? They spent over 70 millions pounds in Jan for starters. Luiz has been an immediate fix for them, and they wouldn't have made this improvement without him, but 5/7 of that money has gone towards a player who is yet to adjust. Is there any other team in England that has two captains from the last World Cup on its books?

Ronaldo's attempts at humour are usually very unpleasant, as you would expect with the nature of the poster. You remind me of myself when I was 15. Looking in the papers and experiencing feelings of glee when the likes Seyi Olofinjana and John Utaka would score meaningless goals. I feel pity and empathy towards your situation. To answer you inquiry, throwing away top spot in the league to such a poor team and player is obviously very disappointing. Do you think it would be intelligent for Newcastle to sign Park Chu Young if Monaco are relegated?
-
Slightly different when you don't have the proper personnel or the options. Our only real right winger is playing for QPR. Also, Barton has proven himself ineffective in the centre, would you say this of Essien?
-
I'm never going to understand 4-4-2 with 3 central midfielders. Nigeria did it at the World Cup and it didn't work at all, either. Just play 4-3-3 if you are going to play 3 CMs.
-
I want us to sign Victor Agali. Promising talent.
-
What a completely illogical line of reasoning.
-
Think he fits his job very well. Exactly what Barca need in that position. Good, clean passer with good defensive abilities that amply fills the holes when the defenders and other midfielders go on the attack. You don't need an aggressive tackling hyper maniac back there. Just a strong, clean player.

Am I the only one who thinks that these "Fair Play" financial rules that UEFA is supposedly introducing will amount to absolutely nothing? I predict no significant change to the landscape of top flight European football other than further corruption and inequality. You cannot stop money with rules.

According to L'Equipe, Taye Taiwo of Marseille has signed a three year contract with AC Milan of Serie A. Obviously, I'm very disappointied to see him leave, but I'm much happier to see him a top club rather than Liverpool or Aston Villa. Also, this is one more team that probably won't pursue Enrique, so this is a positive.
-
They would have won the title this season with even a small modicum of composure and health. It hasn't applied in the past, but I believe it to be true in 2011.
-
Arshavin is an amazing little man, I don't understand why you would hate him. He seems to have lost something since his grand debut with the club, though. I don't know if it is motivation or just natural decline.
-
I don't think any member of the back five you have posted (in reference to GASH?!) is good enough for a title side. The reserve players in midfield and at centre forward are not worthy of that distinction, either.
-
I can understand the frustration with the excessive drinking and the destruction of his lip, but the table is brilliant. It is nice how he has pitted himself against Arsenal as well, it is a sign of ambition.
-
Very happy tonight. Olympique Marseille have lifted the Coupe de la Ligue for the second consecutive season. Hopefully it can propel them to a Ligue 1 title as it did last season. Amazing that Taye Taiwo's parting gift to the club is a goal to win the OM a trophy. Wonderful servant for the club. Very similar to Enrique, he has refusesd to sign a new contract and has eyes elsewhere, but I can't hold ill will towards either of them. They've worn the colours too well.

The lightning/thunder at the Chelsea match seems mildly threatening.
