I don't know, if you are going to make the Premiership into an obscene money pit, you have to make sure there is adequate hep for clubs that fall out of it.
-
I trust him just as much as anyone else at this club to put the ball into the back of a football net. He has a part to play, and it's a shame we don't have an FA cup tie or something where he can get a run on the pitch.
-
He looks extremely old and beaten, but I think he'll provide more goal threat than Lovenkrands. That is all we need, really.
-
I have to say, I have never understood these sort of things. He clearly does not have the talent to compete at that level of play, and allowing him to do so only devalues the competition. I appreciate that it must have been a great moment for him, but it all seems very cheap.

Pretty sure Lampard scored a penalty or something there during the Chelsea-Barca matches in 2005-2006.

Players missing international duty to be banned from next club match?

Ash, this idea is like slitting the jugular vein because you have fever. It solves little and exacerbates issues. -
Players missing international duty to be banned from next club match?

Clubs should be disciplined if they are found to be tampering with player's international duties. The decision should be made by the player. The amount of lying and deceit that the "smaller" nations have had to deal with in the past is ridiculous. I am perfectly fine with players not wanting to come, but the manner in which the clubs influence them is troubling. -
The best shot stopper in England, imo. It's a shame he can't stop doing stupid things, though. It holds him back.

What were they called before? The incompetence of African FAs when it comes to making friendlies. Once again, Nigeria had a long-planned friendly in America that fell apart in the last minute and is now stuck playing Sierra Leone. How can we hope to succeed on the world stage without being able to do simple things?

I don't see the harm of offering Ewerthon and 1.5 year contract if he looks alright. A bit of financial security for him, and still very low risk for us.
-
I've edited it. The first one was supposed to be Lucas, who I think is rather good.
-
It's ridiculous to call Gilberto Silva and Lucas "nothing players". Just because he doesn't seal dribble around the pitch all match does not mean he isn't doing anything. Composed, clean, and strong midfielders are an asset for anyone. Denilson is rubbish, though.

Okocha is just about the most ridiculously skillful player I've ever seen. Some of the stuff he could do with a football were incredible, often unneccesary, but still incredible. Beyond the tricks there wasn't enough of the important stuff to make him a great player though. Lazy, unmotivated genius. I sometimes wonder if he was truly Nigerian. Everything about him is Brazilian.

Rumours that Mphela, SA's top striker at the World Cup, is set to be released by Mamelodi Sundowns. I think he would be a good player to sign on a free. Athletic and experienced at least.
-
Azpilicueta? Started off poorly and had a terrible time adjusting to a more physical league. Recovered from this and put in some very nice performances. Looked like he was going to be a very good signing, but then he tore his knee. Out until next season. Rod Fanni was signed to replace him.
-
VI, the bottom line is that Deschamps did not like him and did not want him. Similar to HBA, the fans and the owners liked the player, but DD had no interest. Cana was a key part of Gerets' side, but he was no longer the manager
-
OM was willing to let Cana leave so they could bring in a superior player to replace him. (This ended up being M'Bia). The low price reflects this. Gervinho will cost a significant amount more.

and again in 2013 It makes the least sense of any football related decision I can ever remember. I doubt there would have been riots in the streets if we just had to wait three years between 2012 and 2015 as we moved to odd numbered years. I'll still be glued to the screen watching my country's inevitable failure, but it's just unnecessary. I can't see Gervinho coming here, btw. His clubs tops Ligue 1 and the price will be prohibitive.

I can understand why Diaby was angry. Barton was excessively aggressive in the challenge, which nearly lead to Diaby being injured. Should have been a yellow, imo. He was fantastic again, though. It's a shame that it took so long for his NUFC career to really get going, he's been a vital part of the team.

The title is appropriate. This goal was truly truly an act of God. The boy has not shown an ounce of goalscoring ability in his entire time at the club, but when that ball came to foot, there was never any doubt about the destination. An absolutely perfect and pristine strike. One of the best I have ever seen. Very good player, Tiote. Hope he can stay for some years.
