  1. OM was willing to let Cana leave so they could bring in a superior player to replace him. (This ended up being M'Bia). The low price reflects this. Gervinho will cost a significant amount more.
  2. and again in 2013 It makes the least sense of any football related decision I can ever remember. I doubt there would have been riots in the streets if we just had to wait three years between 2012 and 2015 as we moved to odd numbered years. I'll still be glued to the screen watching my country's inevitable failure, but it's just unnecessary. I can't see Gervinho coming here, btw. His clubs tops Ligue 1 and the price will be prohibitive.
  3. I can understand why Diaby was angry. Barton was excessively aggressive in the challenge, which nearly lead to Diaby being injured. Should have been a yellow, imo. He was fantastic again, though. It's a shame that it took so long for his NUFC career to really get going, he's been a vital part of the team.
  4. The title is appropriate. This goal was truly truly an act of God. The boy has not shown an ounce of goalscoring ability in his entire time at the club, but when that ball came to foot, there was never any doubt about the destination. An absolutely perfect and pristine strike. One of the best I have ever seen. Very good player, Tiote. Hope he can stay for some years.
  5. To those arguing about the Best goal, the third was nothing like a penalty, so I don't think we have room to complain. I know I am not complaining. Still trying to recover from the cardiac arrest/orgasm/aneurysm after Tiote scored. edit:How is the forum still working?
  6. Pissed off with Ben Arfa as well. And Tiote is just a card magnet. The sooner we purge the club of contaminated effluent like this the better. I understand the sentiment of the post, but Tiote is actually an overly aggressive card magnet who needs to stop being an idiot. Good player, but does some foolish things.
  7. Punk, I am confused as to how the game between Olympique Lyonnais and Real Madrid last year has anything to do with Ben Arfa or feints. I just don't understand the reasoning behind what you are saying with that. edit: Or this year's against Auxerre?
  8. Is there actually anything preventing him from wearing a mask? I've worn one to play basketball in the past, but I didn't have to head a football. I wonder at what point in his recovery he will be able to do this.
  9. I would take Carlton Cole right here and right now. He's a competent Premiership striker. I had no idea that McCarthy was still at West Ham. I would have thought he'd be retired or at a club like Mamelodi Sundowns by this point. He must enjoy the wage packet. Admittedly, I mainly just want us to sign Nsofor and Osaze. Little interest in the others.
  10. I know Ginola, but not as well as I know little Nasri. It is a familiarity issue. Old videos and memories from early youth are no substitute for the experience of watching this young man develop into a top player, leave for the British Isles, and become one of the world's best.
  11. I would take any of West Ham's strikers. All of them are better than anyone we currently have. West Brom have some very nice players, we should be buying if RDM cannot keep them in the league. We have some nice players as well, so the other clubs should prepare for our relegation as well.
  12. I'm too young to remember much of Ginola's glory days at NUFC, PSG, etc, but Nasri seems a better player, imo. I've watched Nasri from his teenage years though, so I might be biased.
  13. Is a medical even actually required? I remember a few cases where clubs have rushed through deadline day transactions without medicals. I think it is just a precaution. Even this summer, Marseille did not find out about Remy's heart condition until he had already signed. That would lead me to believe that they did not do a comprehensive medical before the transfer.
  14. Marseille were interested in his services to replace Ben Arfa, and many other clubs have been sniffing around him, but as you will remember from the M'Bia saga, Rennes can be difficult to negotiate with. This would be a coup considering the level of club he's been linked to. Can be a bit inconsistent/injured, which has held him back a bit (the only reason he would be coming to a club like NUFC), but does have end product to go along with the pace and skill.
  15. Very good player. Would be a fantastic signing on a free transfer.
  16. Why would you believe the Sun? Boss Winger is out of contract, so he is definitely gone, but the other four have no reason to leave as Chelsea is short of numbers. Getting rid of them would require finding sellers and spending large money on replacements.
  17. I do not find it believable that Muntari has declined to the point where Kharja is preferable. The boy was fantastic his first time in Italy and England. I really don't even understand why how Kharja has ended up at a big club.
  18. Carlton Cole is about the 5th best striker at West Ham right now. He's no world beater.
  19. Would be foolish to play Simpson at left back.
  20. Good job we have more than enough strikers capable of scoring. Kakuta, Sturridge, Obinna, Ba and many others for available for essentially nothing at some point in this season. It's an harassment that we couldn't get one of these. It's not even a question of money, just inaction.
  21. The strikers weren't particularly bad tonight, imo. Not any worse than they have been anyway. This was an atrocious performance from the defence and midfield. I'm going to be honest, though. I stopped watching after they scored. Barely a football match.
  22. Obinna apparently having one of those spells where he looks magnificent. Will go back to normal soon I'm sure. Five goals in his last 1.5 matches, though.
  23. Jonas has been close to doing something useful several times, but has managed to fail on each and every occasion. Frustrating.
  24. Wish Ranger could complete simple passes, because he's actually doing well to get the ball. Wasteful when he has it, though.
