There’s a reason why we’ve dropped so many points from winning positions and we did it again yesterday. We gradually drop deeper, don’t give ourselves options up the field, become easier to press and we lose the ball far nearer our goal than we otherwise would. We aren’t good enough to play keep ball. It was almost farcical how easy we ended up losing possession in dangerous areas when what was required was a ball down the line.

As I’ve posted elsewhere, he did ok, won most of his headers and had no real service. He performed as I expected. We’ve got him in and now need to get Lascelles out and also somehow manage to upgrade Longstaff and ideally Shelvey. ASM, goal aside, was pretty anonymous and has to contribute more (I know it’s a contradiction as he’s scored a few but he’s been nowhere near his previous level).

I’ve heard poor reports as well. I believe Nickson needs to go and we need that side of things completely rebuilt. It sounds League 1 level at the moment

ASM was blowing more and left Dummett exposed for a good 10 minutes before he came off. At that stage of the game you can’t allow that to happen. Dummett played well today, he missed a tackle for the goal but I’m not sure that was all down to him and Pedro shouldn’t have been able to get that much control on his header.

He did ok, we didn’t give him much to go at and he won most of his headers. He did exactly what was on his tin and we threw away the points with the same old failings. Laschelles needs peddled.

Still a cheaper striker than Jo, and 10M less than we got for Carroll which in today’s world would be north of 70M. We’ve paid ott for him but so what.

20M is huge for Wood but he’s a better striker than the 40M one we have playing in midfield at the moment. We also have an expensive Mexican who couldn’t shoot fish in a barrel. On that basis I’m in, he could link up with Wilson quite well if Howe goes that way.

If we’re disallowing goals for blocks on players we should never see another goal from a corner.

I’d have given handball there, shouldn’t have had his arms around the player and he moves his hand to the ball.

At this point in time he serves no purpose. I’d hate to be in the same side as him right now, all fart, no product. We’ve got plenty other problems but my god he’s playing like a 7 year old or like, as suggested, a competition winner.

Be positive, that result won’t put players off coming, rather lose today than next week. Hopefully Trippier gives an honest opinion of the players in a private conversation with How’s and that the owners get the players we need. Complete lack of creativity, movement and crucially no front man. Forget any other position, we need a goal scorer and focal point. Clearly we need more but we couldn’t break down an organised Div 1 side. Without goals we ain’t going to win games. This has to be the nadir, time to go into overdrive.

Take the positives. We must buy a goal scorer and accept that we’ve got some awful players.

Fair play to him, both him and his brother took some stick in the 80’s. Seems a likeable bloke with a definite edge (loved what he did to Speedy). I remember NYD 27 years ago when him and Gayle were sent off, vicious atmosphere and he nearly killed Wes Saunders.

We can’t be throwing money at players who’d rather not be here. No bad apples please.

Their guard drops over human rights at the thought of PIF buying another club. Can you imagine if the shoe was on the other foot. The vast majority would be cross eyed with wanking and planning next year’s holiday to Mecca expecting to be playing Bingo in the sun for a week.

We ain’t buying 2 strikers and we’re going to need to create some space in the squad as it is (hopefully). Get need to get some deadwood out which might prove difficult.
