So would people be happy to put 3 or 4 passed Belgium tonight, then watch us lose a close match against Brazil in the 1/4 finals while Belgium have a much looking run to the semi final and possibly the final? I don’t fear Brazil but being up against Brazil and then France (?) leaves no room for an off day. Having said all that this is England and we’ll lose on penalties along the way regardless in a match where we should have won.

You’ve got to give yourself the best chance of winning the whole thing and that means finishing 2nd in the group. The bottom half of the draw is so much weaker.

Are you for real with this argument? The striker you want is 60+ mil striker. Good luck with that. I think that bigger issue is that Mitrovic doesn't want to play for us again. Where have I said that I want a £60M striker? I’d love to cash in on Mitro and get an upgrade on him; he’s got too many basic flaws for me and if (big if) Rafa was given up to £30M to spend on a striker I’d love to see who he comes up with to suit his plans.

Some appear to have forgotten that he’s not the goal scorer that motd made out, he misses far too many good chances; he’s too slow and he struggles to last 90 minutes. He’s far better than Joselu but he’s not the answer we need. In the right team with the right set up he’ll be more than useful but I don’t think it’s us. Good luck to him, I do like him.

I was at the Romania Bulgaria, there was 6 of us and it was the only game we could get seats together. Missed the first 20 minutes as we got hammered beforehand and I’m sure that someone had a shot that smashed off the bar and looked well over the line. We had a great time.

Just out of interest how much are they charging for the Milburn Paddocks? I’m on the 10 year deal and have no idea what the standard rate is.

I do feel a bit for them; they got unfairly thrown out of the League back in the day and that stadium will never allow them to be a proper non league club, one capable of building and growing. One way or another they need a new ground.

I thought they were asking fans to come along to fit the seats and then spend some money afterwards on beer and a BBQ. Community innit.

I also remember sitting in the old wooden west stand that was there prior to that, one such time watching the might of Frank Pingel back head the ball into the net for a draw with the best team in the land and Europe at the time, Liverpool. If you want to get an idea of how the first version of the milburn looked before L7, look at Watford's main stand, whoever designed ours made it an exact copy of theirs, it looks tiny compared to what is there now. And yes I still believe we should have moved to castle leazes back in the day, fuck the protesters. We wouldn't have the issues we have now with the lack of expansion possibilities. It's here.
