Fwiw, as of last night Bruno reckoned Isak isn’t going anywhere. No info on what’s been said, Isak’s reaction or awkwardness of conversations but this is from someone I know who spoke with Bruno yesterday and who has regular contact with Bruno. Might be Bruno playing a straight bat but there we go.

You’d hope Isak can see that we’re trying to make it possible to consider our options. And, he can also see that we need his replacement/ s in first and that those red Scouse cunts have been front and centre in preventing this and haven’t even made a serious offer yet. We have to be close to the point where we just say he’s not for sale and there’s nowt we can do about it. This is the transfer window where PSR and its true meaning hits home and is laid bare for all to see. There’s a ceiling, we’re at it and almost every other club is quite content about it. All we need now is an average season and we become weaker and the gap grows as we navigate PSR bullshit.

As said, Man U will be able to blow us out of the water over wages. If they really want him, they’ll get him. If they’re playing the “we tried” card and miss out over 5M Euros they’re mugging their own fans off. If their offer is accepted then we really have hit a brick wall that’ll need some breaking. I’m coming around to the opinion that if we can get Šeško and Wissa in that we let Isak go for around 135M plus achievable add-odds taking us to 150M. I’d rather have a happy Isak but if he’s off a year later regardless and we can get Šeško in on a 5 year contract (bearing in mind he’s unlikely to be available next year), then just let’s get it done. It avoids a circus next year and could allow us to improve a couple of other positions. The service Isak will get at Lpool will be very different to what he’s had with us.

If he signs would it make Isak more or less likely to want to stay? Have we told Šeško he’d be replacing Isak? Would be nice to think Isak sees it as a sign of intent. The alternative is we get as much as we can for Isak and get Wissa in as well. Great that Hayden leaving has opened up his wage for Šeško ….

Isak, considering options >

I’m also of the opinion that we get Wissa in and tell Isak to put his dummy back in and stay the season. It’d cost us stupid money to get 2 new strikers in, we’ll be paying over the odds for Wissa for a start. Forget whatever that twat of a club would cough up; whatever the figure is, that’ll be the figure other clubs will use to value any approach from us for their players. We’ll be backed into a corner where we either squander most of money we make on the sale or we sacrifice the season, miss out on Europe and fail to make money from any Champs League run. I’ll happily take Isak back into the fold this season but once he does go he’s going to get dogs abuse. Rightly so.

Really no idea what’s going on with Guehi. It’s as if every club has accepted he’s going to Liverpool, are Palace really willing to let him go on a free? A club, any club need to put an offer in and flush Liverpool out.

Can you imagine the position we’d be in if Howe hadn’t done such an incredible job? Yes, we’ve spent a lot but, comparable to other non cartel clubs and we could easily have been mid table plodders with no direction from the top. PIF have been incredibly fortunate with the onfield progress, the rest, by and large is not like the brochure (as KK once said). As fans we’re getting a bit of a backlash (again) in expectations however, I feel we can rightfully ask whether we have a club that tries.
