Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

We just incidental to this game? -
I think City have taken a bit of a free shot with this. If Trafford kicks on, it’s great business, if he doesn’t, he’s hardly cost them a fortune over the course of time. It also prevents the risk of us getting a bit of a steal.
-
Good day for bad news. It might get sorted; it’s not in Bruno’s hands. Anyway, in the big scheme of things.
-
It’s not from an Estate Agent or a single conversation ffs. I give up; get your news from Edward, Hope & Burnsie.
-
Ok, moving out wasn’t his choice and as of yet he’s not found a suitable rental and can’t get an extension. Source is the horse’s mouth once removed. There’s nothing to add tbh. As said, it’s unsettling, he’s not going to be moving into a 4 bed semi somewhere and he hasn’t and won’t be buying a house over here.
-
He said it privately and finding a suitable rental isn’t easy. Like I said, I really didn’t know whether to post it as it’s his business but it’s undoubtedly unsettling.
-
I’ve been sitting on this a while (couple of months) as it’s debatable whether it’s right to post it. Bruno has said he’d move next year if PSG or Real Madrid came in for him (possibly wishful thinking on his behalf and maybe some bravado) but, of more concern is that he’s having to find a new house to live in, by September, as things stand. Very unsettling for him and the whole family. How he starts the season will be very interesting with all that is going on. He’ll not be buying a house and finding a suitable rental isn’t easy.
-
Whichever way this falls out, I’ll be disappointed if PIF don’t react in someway. They don’t say much but this is a situation where some words on the direction of travel would be useful. "PIF congratulates Newcastle United on the club's historic victory in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium, London." After the game the Newcastle chairman Al-Rumayyan had said: "That's the first - and it's not going to be the last."
-
I mention Yasir as he will ultimately have the final say and he’s supposedly said Isak is his favourite player and will not be sold. Isak does deserve an improved contract, we’ve not been proactive on this. If another player has a clause to match the highest earner, then we’re clowns and unless said player agrees a smaller increase then we offer that player to other clubs. We can’t have contracts like that. If Isak is injured, I mean wtf are we doing with him. What is clear is that we’re in desperate need of an acceptable (hopefully) backup striker.
-
Yeah, we lack pace. See James has come off; apparently carrying a knock.
-
Every time I watch James she has all the skills, no determination, lacks stamina and reminds me of many a cracking, could have made it, Sunday League player who can’t really be bothered to do the hard yards. Perhaps a bit harsh but she should be the best player on the pitch every game.

That’s a lot of money. Let’s see what some Saudi club will now cough up for Nunez. -
Hopefully we’re trying to put together a new, realistic, contract to offer him. Stick in as high as we can release clause (which I’m sure his agent will want in) as and see if he signs. We’ll soon know his intentions. He’s earned a significant salary increase so let’s offer it up, stick a 150M release clause in from the season after next. We need to have a happy player, we absolutely also need to have quality back up for him. This needs put to bed asap.

The result shouldn’t really matter, it’s fitness that matters and Celtic are ahead of us. Having said that I do agree with Hope in that this might spark a bit of a rethink. I think my biggest concern is that Osula isn’t a goal scorer and back up to Isak imo is absolutely essential. Next up is a CB, we need Botman to stay fit, our remaining CBs are all in danger of losing their legs at the same time. -

Looked offside tbh honest. Pope had a mare mind. We’ve been wide open in the middle. -
At the expense of what though? 30M for Trafford might fit in with other targets, 40M might push these out of reach unless we can sell. Of course these targets and the money put aside for them might turn us down but we have to put ourselves in a position to make our best offer. We’ve set limits and have to accept it, we can’t put ourselves into a position where clubs come in for our better players knowing we need to sell.
-
You have to think that we thought we’d agreed a deal and at some point Burnley have moved the goal posts and we haven’t reacted. Trafford’s actions looked like he thought so as well. We’re not paying 40M for a keeper and if Ederson is away then Trafford will get a shot as City’s number 1 choice. We continue to be restrained by PSR and bigger clubs will pick our targets off. Hugely frustrating.

I’ve not even seen the penalties, following them on BBC updates was pretty hilarious.
-
Bloody hell man, a lack of ability is one thing, the inability to play a system is inexcusable at a professional/ international level.
-
Quality from both sides ain’t great. Didn’t see the 1st goal but the 2nd was woeful stuff from England.

Historically they don’t get on; they compete. FIFA dislike the power and money UEFA control. UEFA effectively took over the FIFA controlled Fairs Cup and are looking to build the status of the World Club Cup. -
RIP, legendary ability in the air. Those foreign sides didn’t know what had hit them. Just a bit before my time.
-
I’d agree no more than 35M, he’s not going to be 1st choice. The other thing will be length of contract; 4 years max for me.
