Good idea in my opinion. Rangers are skint and would take a decent bid for anyone. Can't see any of the good ones coming here though after Rangers won the league. There's a few talents that could be picked up i.e andrew driver, wallace i've heard positive things about He's still a quality player. When I've seen him play at left wing for scotland he's looked very good, quick and dangerous. He can take a decent freekick too!

Started at Sheffield Uni in September and one of my best mates is a local Sheff Utd season ticket holder. Went to Southampton, Wolves, Sheff wed, Birmingham and Burnley and I have to say that the quality of football was generally appalling. It really confused me how Sheff Utd made it into the play offs let alone nearly make second. Wolves were excellent at Bramall lane and Burnley were decent but apart from that teams seemed to lack creativity and the best player on the park always seemed to be sturdy centre backs e.g Kilgallon, Morgan, Clarke Carlisle. It seems a strange league and I think we should maybe look into buying some players who are proven in the division instead of trying to hold onto the mediocre crap we have now. As a Scotland fan, McCormack impressed me against Holland and Iceland and has proven he can score in the division (although a lot have been from the spot and freekicks) and has the potential to move up into the premiership. I would be pretty confident of our chances if we took that approach and replaced our sold 'stars' with some tall, strong defenders and strikers we could rely on to put a few in for us. That should get us back into the Premiership.

First 4 games, in my opinion, have shown how important it is to have a goalscorer in your team if your going to get anywhere in this tournament. Switzerland, Austria, Turkey and Poland all looked decent enough and created opportunities but didn't have anyone in the final third to finish off a good move. I can see Romania turning out a bit of a shock because they seem to be one of these teams like the above, but with Mutu they have a quality striker. Think Portugal might struggle in the latter stages due to their lack of a prolific striker, their midfielders will see them through to the Semis though I reckon. On the other hand, Germany have 3 strikers on the pitch at the same time, all of whom have good goal records. Think that could make the difference.

The amount of play acting is pissing me off already. Tuncay yesterday deserved nothing less than a yellow card for his ridiculously shite dive. Hope the refs get a grip of it soon.

A singing/standing section is the only way out of the current problem due to so many changes in the types of people going to the game. There are probably a fair amount of fans who want to create an atmosphere but are surrounded by people who don't and to avoid looking a tit will just blend in with them. A singing section would give these people a chance to get out (if it was in a lower area than level 7) and create an atmosphere (like at away games). I don't think anything will change otherwise.

I know that. But I doubt Keegan would've let it be known to Peter if he was getting anyone in or not, at this stage, as James was suggesting. James didn't say Peter said Keegan told him anything like that, he just (correctly) said that Beardsley suggested its more likely the major deals would be conducted in the summer. Says so during the .co.uk interview. Depends what you consider major deals.. IMO we need to spend £10-15 on a player or two in this window if we're to have any chance of salvaging anything from the current season (by salvaging something I mean finishing in a reasonable position which will put us in a better position to buy players in the summer). £10-15 wont get us much in this day.
