    John Carver

If he was bald he'd look about 90.
  2. Hate all this "Pardew was a symptom, Ashley's the cancer" talk. If someone has cancer you still treat the symptoms, give them painkillers, etc, and drastically improve their quality of life, even though you've not cured them yet.

    Shola Ameobi

Why is there a "race to sign Shola Ameobi"?

Featuring on this list is the real prize. All those years under Ashley have paid off.
  6. I think that if there were 80 applications, about 60-70 of them were probably from Alan Curbishley.

  9. I don't know about anyone else, but I was waiting to see where Steve Bruce fell on this issue before making my own mind up.
  10. Can we just nominate all of Sheffield Wednesday's 96/97 squad? http://www.worldfootball.net/teams/sheffield-wednesday/1997/2/
  11. Still around! I was watching The Football League Show a few weeks back and Fulham's keeper had grey trackie bottoms on. I thought "it can't be", but it was!

    Loïc Remy

I think it's different looking at it from the outside. I'm sure the egos of players like Ba and Remy mean they believe they're good enough to play and will be forcing their way into the teams.
  13. More from that thread: Although my favourite was when they were talking about a replacement, and one guy wanted Cacapa.
  14. Suarez at LB, Messi made to drop a division and play for Barca B.
  15. Sake. True though. It's not like. Blaming the fans for the past shite is unfair. Fans who abused protesters? Nah not unfair at all People who abused protesters fair enough, but I think people who had a different opinion on Pardew are entitled. They deserve what they wanted: Pardew. They weren't part of the solution, they were part of the problem (often actively stymieing the efforts of those who did try to oppose Pardew). I just can't see why they ought to benefit from the spoils of his removal. What do you propose? One manager for us and one for them?
  16. After the sheer unbridled elation, joy and delight that followed Pardew leaving, I was starting to come back down to Earth and think that nothing would change and we'd end up with Carver or Kinnear or some League One clogger. This appointment would be incredible when you think of the sort of manager we all expected to replace him.
  17. His current job is the biggest job he'll have for the rest of his career.
