  1. Need a "don't care" option. I didn't even bother checking the score.

    Steve McClaren

Why are the last 13 matches the only indication of his managerial capabilities? He won 2 of the last 13, but also won 8 of the previous 13 before that and 7 of the first 13 matches of the season. It is not as though, he is actualy on the pitch, anyway, he only has so much control. Generally, McClaren has a history of being a competent manager. The last time NUFC hired a manager with that description was Keegan more than seven years ago. Exactly. He can't put the ball in the net, stop the headers going in, stop the opposition from scoring. He can't affect that. He can't get on the end of the corner and head the ball clear. He can't do that.

The advertising loses all its value when it's not on TV every week.

They said similar the first time and he was still being paid. Just find it hard to believe, especially coming from Pardew. Wouldnt shock me if the prick was still on the books Wouldn't surprise me if they brought him in for the last three!
  5. This is amazing. Bournemouth were my Gateshead growing up. Never thought something like this would ever happen.
  6. Smogs 2-0 down. If it ends like that, Watford are up and Bournemouth will need one win from their last two.

Their chief sports writer just tweeted this: lee_ryder: I'm sure I seen a local TV news piece saying bread was bad for ducks. Oats, corn and peas are better for them #leazespark #nufc "I seen this". It's like if Froggy was a journalist.
  8. I'll put my attendance record against yours anytime of the day - how dare you even start to try and criticise people for not going because the club is being ran dry and not one ounce of ambition being demonstrated. Subject is ridiculous is it - don't talk utter s*** and while you're at it f*** off superfan wannabe! Thanks for your delightful response. If you care to read my post properly, I was referring to people who are happy to walk away from the club completely and not just not attend games. Not attending games can be down to preference, money, travel etc. I have no issue with fans who cannot/choose not to attend games, I have an issue with fans who change supporting clubs like picking a new t-shirt. Who's doing that like? I've not said nobody has - if you read my initial post in this thread... I've not read any of the previous posts in this thread, so apologies if this is not in line with the current chat. The subject of this thread is ridiculous, if our current situation deters you from supporting our club - good riddance. It's not ridiculous at all - if Ashley's not made you completely apathetic about our club then please tell us your secrets!
  9. Just for you I'd love to see the club relegated. And if we were relegated, I'd still support the club. Completely disagree that because I refuse to run away from my club in its current state, I deserve my team to fail. Will you support us again in 40 years? Don't really understand your reasoning behind that, if we were relegated it'd be harder to sell us and we'd keep our unwanted players; hence longer Ashley/Gouff/Sammy Ameobi time. If we were relegated, no-one would see all the Sports Direct adverts plastered all over the ground and so he'd have no more use for the club.
  10. Ashley is the club. You can't separate the two anymore.
  11. I'm already ignoring Newcastle, Ashley has sucked out all the passion I had for the team. Being from the Westcountry, Bournemouth are probably my Gateshead. They were a local lower league club all through my childhood, and are suddenly on the verge of promotion to the Premiership. If Gateshead managed that I'm sure a lot more people would be in this situation. I'm not planning to transfer my allegiance or anything , but it's a welcome change to the apathy of the last few years.
  12. Moving away from Newcastle, combined with the Ashley/Pardew/Carver era has just taken away any love I had for the club. I didn't even watch the derby yesterday, just didn't care. It didn't hurt when I found out we lost, I just expected it. But now I'm in a weird situation because my second team are Bournemouth. They're usually in the third or fourth tier so there's never been any issue with them coming up against each other, and if they'd ever somehow made it to the top level I'd always have supported Newcastle. But now I'm really excited about them in the Premier League next season with their ambition and a great young manager and players - basically everything to like about them is everything NUFC lack. I think next season I'll be following them and just ignoring the games vs us.
  13. They look white and gold to me.
  14. I mind playing Riviere. He is the Obertan of our "strikeforce" (without the bulbous head but with the same low level of ability). Imagine being told you're the Obertan of a team that actually contains Obertan. Jesus.
  15. Clutching at straws a bit! = We're always shit at Goodison. Everton are one of the last teams I'm bothered about getting one over. What does it say about our season that a goal for Ryan Taylor would be one of our most memorable moments? = Our squad is so thin we have to resort to untested kids. We always concede loads of goals, it's not entertaining! It also makes Sunderland more likely to stay up.
  16. Did you forget to post the positive news?

It's 100% Dave Kitson. The whole thing matches up with his career - all his anecdotes about things that happened during his career are on youtube.
  20. Coming from Dorset, Bournemouth were always my second team. They were always in the third and fourth tiers, so I never thought I'd have to worry about them competing with United, and if they did it didn't matter - they were only a second team. Now though, not only is that looking like it could be the case, my apathy towards Newcastle is so strong right now that I'm kind of looking forward to seeing a team I care about in the top flight.

  23. Since Keegan our last few managers have been: out of the game for years, promoted assistants, had absolutely no experience whatsoever, dredged up from League One. What makes people thing Carver won't get the job with our track record?
