Was there even anyone available for £30m who could be guaranteed to score goals? We were quoted £20m for Jorgensen and he wasn't guaranteeing anything. Imo unless you're signing Lionel Messi there's no such thing as a player who will guarantee goals. There's a multitude of reasons why players might not hit form at a new club despite doing well for the former clubs. Messi is the only player in world football who transcends that. Wrong. If anyone could ruin Lionel Messi it would be NUFC.

Never forget the reasons he joined, they still hold. He may have decided that NUFC is his club now and he's going to see Ashley off What's really distressing is that I cannot think of another club right now that suits Rafa better than NUFC (taking ownership out of the equation). I believe he thinks that too. He'll not hang around forever though, waiting for it to get better.

I'm right behind this train of thought. We are all raw so soon after dropping more points but we aren't cut adrift at the bottom. We are in danger but all is not lost yet. Need to stay calm as best we can. (not sure why I'm saying this really as I am a firm believer that staying up will just lead to another, if not more, depressing season under Ashley next year so we'd be better of going down anyway)
