No way am I going to get my hopes up again. In my opinion, anyone who thinks this might happen in the summer is setting themselves up for a massive disappointment. As far as I'm concerned, Ashley is here for life.

As they've been in touching distance of safety for so long, despite being absolutely terrible, it was obvious that all they needed was a couple of wins to survive. And that they'd do it. Barnsley should have condemned them within the last 3 weeks but failed at every opportunity.

There's a David Kelly goal that I have never been able to find online. It was away to Brighton, I think under Ossie Ardiles. Score was 2-2 I think. I just remember loving the way that he headed it in. Cross from the right and headed back across goal into the far corner. David Kelly was a brilliant header of the ball.

Great call. The way he beats 2 players, almost on the goal line is sublime.

Was my immediate thought. Such an important goal and at the same was a beautifully hit strike. Most i've ever celebrated a goal.

I'm probably too long in the tooth but when it comes to the long term future of the club, I have no more optimism. I think Ashley will lie to Rafa again, make promises that he won't keep, and then come September, Rafa might well leave. Ashley just isn't going to change.

Any chance someone could correct the link to the old thread in the first post on page 1? I like to read through the first pages occasionally just to relive that period of time. It was an amazing few days in the build up to him being confirmed.

It sounds clearly over the top from the West Ham fans, but I can feel their frustration. They too have utter fuckwits running their club. We should all be able to empathise with them. Wullie put it perfectly the other day.
