  1. Please dont tell us you believe that
  2. So if he is at fault which to be honest i can agree with ( he shouldnt of employed keegan in the first place, naiveity, etc, etc), does that mean that it is still right to try and force him out after one mistake - albeit a massive one, which wouldnt of affected the club massively had he follwed up with a good appointment which was perfectly viable? the protests just seemed so disproportionate to the issue in the grand scheme of things. Keegan is replaceable there are better managers out there and there are managers out there who have achieved more than him who would of been interested in the job. I would love the club to tell us in great detail, what they did between Keegan resigning and the Hull match to replace him. As far as I am aware, nothing has been done and its now the fucking 20th of September.
  3. Too late now, he had his chance. It will all come out eventually. I just hope the faith in Ashley isnt unfounded.
  4. So because we haven't done it in 7 days, or communicated with the fans as well as others, we should lynch those running the club? Certainly Ashley & Co have made some major mistakes, things could and should have been done alot better, but the point here is that the ridiculous overreaction by the fans did have a significant part to play in the current situation whereby we have a temporary manager unable to do the job required and no desire by those in charge to change that situation anytime soon. I m absolutely convinced that if the club had spoken to the fans 2 or 3 times in the period between Kevin walking out and the Hull match, the protests that took place would not have been anywhere near as well supported. I think they knew that would happen and played on it. They saw what the instant reaction was and must have realised that it was going to build and build until the next home game. They had a responsibility to calm things down. Instead, their silence and that fucking ridiculous FACT statement on the web site just fanned the flames. Do that to a set of football fans and you should never be surprised with the reaction your going to get. I am not condoing the (non-violent) protests, but it was always going to happen
  5. Dont hear many denials though....seems like a strange smear if it wasnt true....as despicable as the smear was something about it rings true with me, it just seemed far too specific. You dont respect Keegan for not wanting to get into a childish mud-slinging match through the press ? Two ways of looking at it. I prefer to assume Keegan wouldnt lower himself to such levels.
  6. West Ham also appointed a new manager in about 7 days and in the interim period, were telling the fans, through the media, how the appointment process was going
  7. I don't think the lad is anything special but Taylor gets way too much stick imo. The "if he wasn't a Geordie" thing doesn't really wash considering we have got rid of Geordies in the past and at least tried to recently who weren't good enough. Taylor's a complete liability man. Already we've had 3 games this season where he's looked utterly out of his depth the "if he wasn't a geordie" does apply tbh. Same for Shola, if they were named Lopez and Garcia they would have been out the door by now without doubt Shearer not too complementary of both Coloccini and Taylor on MOTD
  8. Ashley and everyone else have missed the chance to make me change my opinion of Kevin unfortunately. If Kevin has walked out without any real reason, and purely because of a childish hissy fit, the club could have belittled him to hell and back. Their silence on the whole matter makes me suspiscous of them
  9. To be fair to HTT, his posts are a direct response to the silence and apparent lack of action going on at the club. How can any fans not get wound up more and more, day by day, by not knowing what the fuck is going on. All we know is that Ashley intends on selling the club, has been apparently actively trying to do so but the day to day running, and more importantly the search for a new manager of the club appears to be secondary.
  10. Oh for the days when a drop in attendence was the main topic of conversation for the papers
  11. If I was in a position to be able to go I would not ( if that is logical ) Another week has gone by with the press ridiculing him and our club with his apparent oddball negotiation skills in the Middle East and another week has gone by without hearing a single word out of the club about what is going on.

    Michael Owen

Sounds painful. Terrific technique. Pulled it back, then skinned em.
  13. Demonstrate probably the wrong word i agree But maybe if people who didnt want him and the rest of the management structure out, did something to communicate their positive thoughts to the club, it might make Ashley think twice. If he doesnt know, he is just going to assume that 100% of the support is against him.
  14. For all the people moaning and complaining that the mongs have "got what they wanted", I was wondering why there doesnt appear to have been any calls for a bringing together of fans who want Mike to stay and to push the club on in the manner that he says he was trying to. Be interesting to see his response if a few thousand stood outside SJP with "Please stay Mike" banners
  15. Chris Hughton as caretaker manager of NUFC. a truly disturbing reality. Hughton although admittedly out of his death is not as odious as the poisoned rodent. Fans should have a decent relationship with the manager of their club - won't happen if Wise is in charge. The utter selfishness behind that statement is beaten only by it's stupidity. Aye. Has to be said that avoiding relegation is now the focus of our attention - regardless of the personnel involved
  16. I dont see many of Ashley's supporters outside the club chanting for him to stay. If they did, they might also be able to change the direction of the club
  17. I honestly couldnt give a flying fuck who is in charge of the team right now. If they are capable of stabilising us and getting us a few results on the pitch that keeps our head above water, then I will be truly grateful for that persons help - whoever he may be.
  18. I was never bothered about it at the time, I'll openly admit that. All I'm saying is that with hindsight (I know...) it was never going to last. Especially when he appointed possibly the only man who would turn 99% of the fans against him if something went wrong. And at Newcastle something ALWAYS goes wrong. In that case if and when the club is taken over, I hope we don't hear anyone clamouring for Shearer as manager, just in case it goes wrong... If Ashley "loved" being at the match and being part of the "Toon Army", how come he didnt make any visible effort to calm the brewing storm that culminated in the disaster at the Hull match. He has plenty of time to talk to the fans to calm things down but he chose to keep quiet.
  19. Eh? I'm the one who said that, and I didn't protest as I wasn't at the game. I didn't actually mean you specifically Dave hence why I didn't quote you There are several people in this thread who think he effectively bottled it, when all he was doing was giving the fans who protested what they wanted. I dont see Ashley as the type of person that just gives things to people just because they want something and at the first time of asking. Not much of a negotiator is he : Fans : Sell the club Mike Miek : OK
  20. Another useless story from the Mirror.
  21. Is it me or is the reality that most of the fans didnt actually want him out, they just wanted a change to the structure and an improvement in the communication between club and fans. Too many wanting to get on tv and talk shite rather than thinking what their actions would mean for the club in the long haul. Its evidently easy to move people on and out of the club but fans want different things from the club, something that will never be solved. A little thinking before the televised tantrums would have been appreciated! Thing is, when you saw all the stuff going on outsude Shearer's in the week building up to the Hull game, the crowd was so obviously just made up of bored school kids just joining in to try and get on TV and to have a laugh. Its very sad if the club didnt look at this and think that maybe they should try and find out what a broader feeling of the fans was. Sadly I dont think they were interested in finding out.
