  1. Can't keeping playing Mitrovic, Colback and Perez and expect to win games. They are all frequently guilty of shocking performances and together it's a train wreck.
  2. Had already sent a text saying it was good to snag the draw. Word.
  3. He's a target man who scares the opposition and his headers are bullets, but his ball skills are poor; he lacks speed and coordination. The latter aren't the kind of attributes that are going to improve greatly now he's 21. Can see him being a ~15 per season goalscorer in the prem if he gets the red mist under control, which would make him a great asset. Could work well with a quick striker with good touch and control. Watching him warm up and shoot at the game yesterday, he was by far the worst shooter of the whole starting XI, and that's including Dummet... 0 of 3 went in and none even remotely challenged the keeper despite his noticeable effort. That won't change greatly, so better to focus on his strengths.

Stoke are on a run of 0-4 Man city 0-4 Tottenham (h) 1-4 Liverpool and nothing to play for, doesn't fill with confidence..

It's just so hard to predict who turns up at this time of the season. For Sunderland it's entirely possible that none of Stoke, Chelsea, Everton and Watford give a f*ck when they play. Even within a team, just takes one player to either want it or not to change the entire match, and that's much harder to predict than the outcome a normal football match where it's reasonable to assume everyone is at least semi-motivated. We definitely need to win twice to have a chance. If we do that, well done to Rafa and the team since he was installed - lot of blame at their feet and the club management for not getting rid of McClaren before the Spain hiatus. 3 wins feels like too much to ask. Too much chance Spurs have the title in play on the final day.
  6. Dummet is like the Michael Cera of football. Looks like he just found himself in the dressing room one day, the manager thought he was a footballer, and the easiest thing was to go with it and run out onto the pitch, and now he's in too deep to get out.

I feel like we're going to have to beat Spurs on the final day to survive, and they're going to need to beat us to win it. Which is a marked improvement on 1 week ago.

The poll should be changed to, after how many games will we be mathematically relegated? 36
  9. Snatched relegation from the jaws of hope. Classic Newcastle in this era. There's basically nothing to like about this club at the moment. It's just a weekly source of frustration and fuckwitery to watch. :slowclap:
  10. Do I vaguely remember the owner of CP linking him to Real Madrid earlier in the season

The lack of clean sheets is going to bury us. Likely to score against Sunderland and Norwich but keeping them both scoreless is very unlikely. Anything other 6 points in those games, we're finished IMO.
  12. This is so bad it's amusing. Ashley clearly hasn't learnt from past mistakes. Above all Kinnear has a problem with compulsive lying, that or he is suffering from marble loss - both of which should exclude him from being considered for any management role. For me the most incredible thing about this is not that Kinnear believes he is the hidden gem of the managerial world, we know he's deluded. It's that someone believed him. Mike is either a good troll, or more out of touch than I thought remotely possible. It's just daft. If I were Arsene Wenger i would release a statement to the effect that JFK does not have his number, that would be priceless.
  13. engage meltdown, this is ridiculous. Was always going to be fucking Remy too.

After the Chelsea game this seemed inconceivable, last time there was a real feeling of something to blame or an understandable cause for us going down, and that allowed the club to come back with a purpose. This time it's like we've sleepwalked through most of the season and woken up on the edge of a cliff, and so far it seems like the drowsiness hasn't lifted and we're going to head on over, while most of the other clubs are running away full pelt.

    Need QPR to stop caring.

    Alan Pardew

Sounds like Martinez to me! This is always the best thing to do, but its like the club (and so many others) have a gambling problem. The 'best man for the job, or the best we can get' is always appointed, but when things go wrong the grass always becomes greener, and there's absolutely no doubt in my mind that if we appointed someone else they'd be under the exact same scrutiny Pardew is now, even if they have a better philosophy. If he didn't have the relationship he has with the hierarchy he'd be out already, I wasn't a fan when he was appointed, won me over last season (yes like pretty much everyone) but those initial fears seem to have been realised. It's either an endemic problem, or just the nature of management. It's easy to look at the Ferguson's and Wenger's as the ideal, but in reality I think they are more the exception - and not an exception that can be easily predicted upon appointing a manager. I'd give Pardew another 6 matches to turn it around, if we're still spiraling out of control Ashley really should make a move. Saying that, if the ship goes down, I think the captain will be coming along for the ride.

    Alan Pardew

It really seems Pardew has subscribed to the belief that defensive players need coaching while attacking players and their 'flair' will take care of themselves. It's bad enough when people think that for amateur sides but to be at the top echelons of the professional game and be implementing that... it's mind boggling. I found it hard to believe at first but the quotes seem to be mounting up... It's an easy beleif to come to - to some degree players like Messi do just take care of themselves but thats simply because theyre better than the rest, they still need to fit in with an attacking game plan for a team to reach its full potential - and to think that our attacking players don't need guidance We knew last season was a miracle to some extent, but in sight of this it was a big fucking miracle. For Pardew it must be confusing trying to work out what isn't working this season when he's dealing out the same medicine What really worries me is even the defensive side of things which he's clearly really focusing on isn't yielding results. Unless he has a change of beliefs last season represents the complete peak of what we can achieve. I think if he stays, which he will, things will pick up to some extent - but that will just be the result of unguided equilibrium on the playing group. With good management we should be challenging at the other end of the table - I increasingly doubt Pardew understands what that takes let alone has the ability to provide it - 1 in 10 season miracles aside.
