Typical. There's a thread on RTG about 'finishing above the mags'. One of them actually speaks sense when he says that most Sunderland fans on there wouldn't care if they finished 19th as long as we finished 20th. Never has a truer word been spoken. Them even discussing "finishing above the mags" is a reflection of their under achievement so far. According to them, before a ball was kicked this season, finishing above us was a given, a formality, never in question.

Exactly. They all hate Newcastle so much, they spend half their lives in it. Maybe in future derby games, when they sing "if you hate Newcastle, clap your hands." we should change it to "if you hate Newcastle, divvent gan."

That's twice we've had mackems in this week. It was carpet fitters the other day. Think i'll get on to the council in the morning and see if i can get the place fumigated. That reminds me of a mackem family on holiday the other year. They had cockroaches in their room and the cockroaches complained.

Had a window salesman at the house tonight. I opened the door with a cup of tea in my hand and invited him in. I offered him a cuppa, lifting my "demolition derby. 5-1" mug in the air at the same time. "Coffee pleeyis" was his answer in the broadest mackem accent i've ever heard. Oops . So all Manchester United fans are from Manchester or else glory-hunters? I just think that a lot Man U fans living outside the Manchester area have no connection with the club whatsoever, and attach themselves to Man U purely because of their success and status. Not all, mind you, which makes it hard for those who do have a connection with the club and city. As for you liking the red strip, funny that of all the teams that play in red, you chose one who happen to be one of the worlds best. Here's an example of Man U "fans". Where i work there are about 10 people who claim to support Man U, they wear all the gear and spout off continually, yet not one of them could advise me on how to get to Old Trafford from Piccadilly on a match day. The reason being that they simply haven't been.

It's the Man u fans that get to me. Waiting for the train in Newcastle Saturday morning, there was actually one or two people on the platform with Man U gear on, going away to cheer on some team from another city against the team from the city of their belonging. Then, waiting in the queue for a tram into Manchester city centre post match, we were surrounded by Irish, Scottish, Scandinavian etc so called Man U fans. Don't get me wrong, NUFC have fans worldwide, but the difference is that those fans don't follow the club because of it's success.

In England... Plymouth. Hope they get out of trouble. Carlisle. Was one of the 1st "other" english grounds i saw. Still regard them as "local" underdogs, even though they're in the west. Blackpool. Like the strip and have fond memories of childhood trips there. Scotland... St Mirren. Visited the area years ago and watched them a few times when i was there. I admire their fans for not jumping on the old firm bandwagon, despite the close proximity to Glasgow. Sometimes go up when there's no Toon game.

I still think Bruce will be at the SOS next summer. Bruce springsteen in concert that is. Their "easy run" against the "nobodys" that we've played is going well isn't it?

Mackem at work keeps saying Blackpool were in our position at this stage last season. It's like we're doing something wrong by having 25 points already, and we'd give ourselves a better chance of success by having a paltry 11 like they have.

Many going over for this? Was a good turnout last year and decent atmosphere. Wondering what Tyne tunnel traffic will be like about 6pm for getting there. Don't suppose parking at the SOS will be a problem.

I'm all for bringing money in to build a decent side, but selling off the name of the stadium is a sacrifice too far. Granted a sponsor could potentially put in an amount of money. What about the money the club stand to lose from those fans who think this is the last straw? The ones who feel so strongly that they distance themselves from the club. NUFC will lose their money year after year. How many people have you heard say that they won't set foot in the stadium while Ashley's in charge? This is hardly going to win them back.

Just a couple of things to pick up on that Everton write up. A) "Cabaye has struck up a good partnership with the industrious Guthrie." - I think they've only played together twice. B) Reference to "The ridiculous haired Coloccini." - fellainis' hair style may have been overlooked there.

Must admit to going to this game expecting defeat and consoling myself pre-match with "At least it's another ground ticked off." Anyway the lads came up trumps and made the win look fairly comfortable. Oh how i love the unpredictability of this club. Stoke fans were crap, after hearing all the hype about them being the loudest in the country etc. In the words of Jim Royle, "My arse!" Didn't hear them much apart from those few minutes between both penalties. Sweet revenge for last seasons 2 defeats.

As a current season ticket holder i'd feel aggrieved if the offer was open to anyone, but instead i see it as a way of allowing those with season tickets to get maybe a family member/friend to go to games when they wouldn't have otherwise. Can't blame the club for wanting/trying to fill the ground, although i'd rather the football on offer was enough to do that. Sounds like that box office needs looking at though. Been hearing stories of people trying to get tickets over the phone for an hour, only to be cut off once they're next in line.

Aye, good one that and the more he scores the longer it goes on. I always think of Cabaye when i hear a Beatles song,( Listening to Magic, like an old fart.) that goes "you say hello, and i say goodbye." Some people pronounce his name differently. Some say Cabaye(rhymes like hay), and others say Cabaye(rhymes like eye), so i think of "You say Cabay, and i say Cabaye." with the 1st then 2nd pronunciation. You probably have to hear the song 1st to get any notion of what i'm talking about mind.
