When's the draw for next seasons Europa/champions league?
-
SSN were interviewing Rangers fans in their club shop last week, and one of them came out with "The sooner we get out of this league and go to England, the better." What makes them think they'll be welcomed in England? They're so arrogant that they think they can choose which country they play in.
-
Will we qualify for the Champions League? Sadly not...

2 cup finals for chelsea to look forward to, and hopefully these will be a massive distraction as far as their league performances go. They've still a massive hurdle to overcome in Bayern/Real Madrid to actually win the CL. -
Think tickets for the preliminaries start at £20 for 2 games that day. Don't know when any more are being released for sale though.
-
Heard on the radio news that easyjet are doing Newcastle to Amsterdam flights from this winter. Maybe we'll be needing them for the Europa final next year.
-
That's their only pleasure in life, lapping up any toon misfortune. Their own team give them nothing to celebrate. To some, it seems toon misfortune is more important than mackem success, if they achieved any success of course.
-
Gulf minimal? Currently 16 points i believe. In one of their numerous relegation seasons, Sunderland won almost as few points in a whole season.

Yes, I can see how a miserable saturday afternoon in the arse end of Greater Manchester would be the perfect trial run for a balmy late summers evening in St.Etienne (or some other similar continetal locale). tbh we're more likely to end up in Donetsk, Tel Aviv or Makhachkala. A trip to Wigan sounds about right. I'd quite fancy some of Europes outposts. Places i'd never go to unless the toon played there.

Anybody hear that mackem nugget on tonights "Legends" ranting on, claiming the euro qualifying rules have been changed with only a few games left to allow us to qualify should we finish 6th. He was trying to say they're giving England another place. I know it's confusing, but i'm pretty sure we aren't getting another place, unless Chelsea win the CL of course, and that we can qualify in 6th because of the way things have panned out in the cups. Talk about bitter though.

Done Metz, Monaco and Eindhoven with the club in the 90's. Hellish travelling but it was a fairly cheap adventure back then. Have used the "budget" airlines for the more recent ones, but my favourite, better than Barcelona, Juventus etc was to Zulte Waragem in Belgium on Eurostar. Went without tickets amid scaremongering that anyone without a ticket would be turned back. Turned out to be false thankfully. Fantastic city, Ghent. Ended up in the home end, but experienced great place, people and pubs.

If indeed we still existed.

I've got that book called "Black and white daft". It's a book of fans recollections of games between 1979-1984, and on the front cover there's a picture of the West Ham end at the time the petrol bomb landed, a huge circle in the crowd and smoke billowing from the terraces. There's a newspaper piece from the time in which the lad who threw it said he wanted to put Newcastle on the map and was sick of us being in the old 2nd div'. When asked by police if he intended to hurt anyone, he said "I did it because i hate those cockney b**t**ds." He got jailed for 3 yrs. It's a great book though. Fantastic nostalgia and pictures. Available from all good book stores - and the "Back page". Only joking back page staff. Can't beat your place for good book selection.

Keep hearing about the "huge" demand for cup replay tickets at the SOS. 20k+ of the loyalist football supporters the world has ever had, crawling out of the woodwork since the Arsenal game in the last round.
-
Have done of late, but seem to be made up of rejects/academy players stepping up a level.
-
Watching MOTD at the weekend, when i noticed an ad at the SOS saying something like "Newcastle international airport. Your airport." Oh no it's not. What about the mackems at the derby, singing "Newcastle's a s**thole. I wanna go home". In reality they choose to spend half of their lives in Newcastle.

Just finished watching the the QPR thing today. Great stuff. Those italians were nigh on impossible to work with. No wonder they got through so many bosses. Actually felt quite emotional watching them celebrate the FA verdict, even though it wasn't my club. As a football fan, i think you can appreciate what fellow fans go through at times. That must have been an agonising wait, not being able to fully appreciate winning the league. The only reasons i'd want QPR to go back down are Mark Hughes and their overpriced ticket prices.

Shelled out another £104 for a new train booking to Swansea and another night in a hotel. Got a refund of £24 for a train previously booked between bristol airport and back. £80 out of pocket but an extended weekend away to look forward to. Cardiff Fri night, Bristol Sat.

We'll have to watch Bendtner if he plays. He's quick, driving around the streets of Newcastle that is. He can do some damage... to cars in Stowell street. -
Tell you what, if they really want to boycott Newcastle related things, how about they start with the actual city of Newcastle. Pubs, station, airport the lot. They're not wanted here.

I'm no wraith fan but at least he's doing something, rather than quietly standing aside and letting the name of SJP die. That's what will happen when the new generation of fans grow up listening to BBC and the likes calling it SDA repeatedly. Good on him and anyone else who makes a stand. While i'm on, why is the "arena" in the SDA signs smaller than the "Sports Direct"? Answer: because the arena is insignificant in comparison with his company.

Had booked to go to Swansea on the Sat. Will have to do some re-planning. Probably a case of financial damage limitation now, or further expense to book another night away.
-
We all want success on the pitch, and we all understand that without income from stadium naming rights etc, money will have to be found elsewhere. Personally, i'd rather we do as well as we can without money for renaming SJP. We're doing ok now and aren't bringing any money in for renaming. If another company fails to come in and stump up the naming money, will MA accept it's not making money as planned and then call it SJP again? Ithink the chances are slim. He can have as many SD adverts around the ground as he likes for all i care, just restore the name of St James' Park.
