To be fair I can see why he put McLoven on, scored two against Forest so deserved to get a run out at some point (although when he did come on I was fuming) and Guthrie to 'shore' up the midfield. Ba looked done after about 60 and Obertan after about 65, biggest issue was leaving him on far too long. Just had none of the ball second half and looked knackered. Bloody delighted we scraped a win from what should have been a comfortable position. Oh and we were as bad as that 2nd half for the whole game against QPR.

They could offer him £50K/week, with a signing fee of £4.5M for a 3 year deal. That would nearly equal his current deal and not break the wage cap. And it would be cheaper than trying to get a replacement of sufficient quality IMO. What, and keep this ludicrous signing fee a secret from the rest of the squad? Righto. Who said it it would be kept a secret? Look at it like Coloccini replacing Coloccini. Would the players object transfer fees/signing fees being paid for his replacement as well then? f*** knows, I'm not one of those who justified the sales of numerous players by saying we couldn't give them any more money (or the same money) because it would have led to chaos within the club with the rest of the squad demanding the same and us being unable to say no for some reason. Coloccini is on high wages at present, and he's approaching 30. If we offer him a new contract, why would they make any exception for him? As I said, I love watching him play and I'm going to thoroughly enjoy his quality this season. Can't see the point in looking beyond that. This sadly.

Thing with the radio it's very dependent on who's doing the commentary. Some of the BBC lot are great whilst others...well...are Mark Bright. The BBC Newcastle lot are absolutely shocking as well, so as long as it's not them or Brighty I might actually be able to enjoy listening to it tonight.

Again why the hell would he say "Taylor's not really a left back and Santon's the shizzle" when it's obvious that Taylor will have to start the next few? Also it's putting unnecessary pressure on Santon, he may well be a very good player but he is still young and has suffered with confidence issues in the past. See no problem with easing him in when he's fit.

Blimey what a contrast in points won this week. Thought we looked like a proper football team today. Some really good stuff in there, pretty unlucky not to come away with three.

Bring on Shola if we need a 'target man', bring on Loven if we need a nippy striker and bring on Sammy if we're comfortable, need someone who can run with the ball or someone who can play out wide. Very very unlikely we'd use all three but nothing wrong with having different options. (Must also say, I'm not saying that the players necessarily play the roles well...)
