Yeah have no idea what just went on. EXPLAIN PLEASE!
-
Personally I don't think Gervinho is actually that good. Obviously I'll be eating these words come 7:30pm Saturday when he's scored a hat-trick, but from what I've seen of him he's a good dribbler but other areas of his game are inconsistent.

Must be signing a LB to replace Enrique if he's been allowed to go out on loan.
-
Played for Hungary in some tournament before our pre-season began so was given some time off. Like Michael said was due to join Heerenveen on loan but haven't heard anything since.
-
Derdiyok a very good player. Would be amazed if we got him, would be straight in my fantasy team if we did mind
-
Still have his autograph kicking about somewhere...
-
Good stuff from the club. I hope for christ we don't continue with zonal marking for set-pieces. We looked absolutely clueless there.
-
Yeah can't believe he had the gall to criticise us but not the player. Madness.
-
Just realised that if we'd taken the money from the contract we've just given Shola and given it to Enrique he'd probably stay. What a sobering thought.
-
Fucking hell. If this was the other 'good news' we were expecting then I'm going to go cry. Terrible footballer, terrible decision. I'm all for things that are cult in football, but not when they're a shit player who earns more in a week than most do in a year.

Someone better greet him at the airport with a trumpet.
-
Ha, so much for the comprehensive report. Will ask him tomorrow for more details but his text read: "He did well, obvious talent but a bit raw. Tried to smack his pen down the middle."
-
Got a couple of workmates at the game, will try and get a more comprehensive report from them on how he's played.
-
His contract expires in 2012, maybe the club fear of another Enrique where we won't get the top top money which he's clearly worth if we decide to sell.
-
I do like Pav, maybe for £4m, but £14m for a 29-year old striker just screams madness/awful newspaper rumour to me.
-
Bloody getting tiresome now. Shut the fuck up Joey, you're starting to look as petty as Piers.
-
And I thought we only had knee-jerk reactions to Newcastle on this forum, seems the sickness has spread to our views on other clubs too!
-
Happy enough with that. Hope Barnetta, a replacement left back and a striker are still coming mind.
-
Woop woop, another plan. We're all ears... I think that was him being subtle. What he actually should have said is "we're currently paying stupid wages for shite we can't get rid of like Alan Smith and Xisco. Until we get these deadweights off the books we have less money available to us than we'd like."
-
Odds on Derek Wright not being able to get back in the country?
-
Proof will be in the pudding. May as well give him until the window closes before calling him a spineless cunt.

Been speaking to my Man Utd supporting mate at work who generally isn't far off when discussing Man Utd related things. Think he struggles under the pressure at Man Utd and a move to a club of Newcastle's size could be very good for him. He's very strong for the reserves (albeit against far lesser players) but although he's looked poor for the first team does have enough ability to become the player everyone assumed he could become a few years back. Don't think it'd be the worst signing we could ever make based on what he's said.
-
I'd imagine it's a lesser basic wage with higher incentives like Ba's contract. (Or we're just cheapskates - probably the likelier scenario).
-
He was decent when he was at West Ham, had a few injuries since. Got his career back on track at Leeds last year although some reports that he'd been late for training a few times and a bit of a p*sshead. Not a terrible LB by any means, but seeing our clubs apparent incompetence when it comes to discipline we're probably not an ideal match.

I was absolutely fuming when we appointed Pardew but I don't really see what he's done recently to get added hatred and people wanting him out. What was he supposed to do? Come out and say Barton's right and Ashley is a c***? Or that we've got loads of money, but we just can't spend any? I'd imagine a fair bit did go on wages and signing on fees and that's been taken into account from the money we've received for players post-Carroll, however I also think (probably foolishly) that there's still potential for another three or four players (LB, Barton replacement, Striker and one more, ideally a FB that can play both sides or another striker) to come in.
