Best: Go out and sign Barnetta, two quality full backs and a quality striker. Vuckic comes through and wins Young Player of the Season and we qualify for Europe. Worst: Ben Arfa and Ba both get badly injured first month, we sign no-one else for this entire window. Loads of in-fighting, three managerial changes and we finish bottom, relegated around the end of March.

To be fair they said after the Leeds game this would be treated more like a first team fixture, with the first team management taking it and Vuckic and Williamson both definitely playing as well. Would suggest their selection has more to do with game time rather than any conspiracy theories.

There's a lot I agree with here, I just think part of the problem is the players available. There's not much point spunking money on players they're not convinced by or that are overvalued by other clubs. Saying that the fact we're going into the season with Enrique more than likely to go and no-one obviously coming in does worry me. Likewise the lack of quality striker. BUT, I just hope they're biding their time and waiting for the right player to become available. Although I remember thinking the same thing the transfer window where our big 'signing' was Sibieriski on transfer deadline day.

Yeah Ba was no means worse than Shola. Some pretty poor performances out there. Worries me a bit that without Enrique and Colo out there, we do really struggle to get the ball from defence to anywhere else (even backwards). Reminded me a bit of the days when he had Baba and Carr at full backs. Think there's every possibility we could struggle if we get a few injuries. Don't think Nevin and that lot are completely barmy. Defensively we are quite short of quality and if Ba does pick up a bad one I'd not be keen on relying on Shola/Love and Best.

I'm one of Jonas' biggest fans but he's been absolutely shocking so far today.

Bridge's age and wage would be a big concern. I know his stock has fallen quite a bit in the last season or so, but he's by no means a bad player.
