We are the only league club in the country not to sign a player this off-season. Ridiculous.

I wouldn't have minded Sven when he expressed an interest before Allardyce came in and I said so at the time. He went to Man City, got out his contacts book and got them into Europe. He may have had a somewhat uninspiring turn of the year in that season but he still got them into europe and this is a team that looked absolutely knackered after the 2006/2007 season. He is considered a cheque book manager, but is contacts throughout the world of football will mean that Notts County are bound to get some good unheard of players that should be able to walk the likes of League 2. Time will tell I guess.

Nolan will probably play a bit more of an advanced role in midfield just behind Carroll based on pre-season. To be honest I don't think that playing a 5 man midfield against West Brom away from home is a terrible idea. Most of the midfield appears to be a load of cloggers and our striker is something of a target man. Sounds about right for the Championship all in all. Win draw or lose I won't be worrying about our Championship safety just yet. Didn't Sunderland lose the first 4 on the trot in their promotion season?

I'm not overly bothered that he got his final payday at Man United to be honest. He'll probably do well enough, get a few injuries and score enough goals to keep him on the highlight reel... may even get back into the England squad and become the media darling with his clean cut image again. ..I can't really say I care though. So what? He drained this club or resources for 4 long years and played a part in our downfall to a certain extent but on the other hand he's no longer our problem. I don't care what happens to any of our ex players, whether they deserve what they get or not. He just means nothing to me.

The only impressive thing about this pre-season has been the picture of Ameobi eating an apple on a bike. We've beaten teams that are in lower leagues than us. That isn't impressive, it's expected. Everything about this club has been a joke for about 10 months now.

On the one hand its a meaningless game, but on the other hand we got beat 6-1 by Leyton Orient. I'm pretty sure they lost against Ebbsfleet last week aswell.

Probably been posted but according to Whatever on Skunkers (reliable source close to the Shepherds) they made an offer which was below the 100m asked for and Seymour Pierce made the recommendation for Ashley to accept it but him and Llambias are adamant they can get 100m+ for the club.. so no sale. Depressing
