Oh to support a club where you need to live vicariously through other clubs triumphs for lack of your own
-
Its the timing of it that's anger inducing too, the day of the derby? Shoot that gnocchi nonce into the moon.
-
Nerves are kicking in now, we have to win this one

I've been trying to put my finger on why I had such an irrational hate for Rosenoir, this thread has opened my eyes to the Pardew clone theory

LinkedIn is getting sacked in the morning isn’t he? shame!

Preferably a draw as Everton are ahead of us too, we do need Leeds to win too and it looks good providing we bury the Mackems tomorrow.

Ekitike crocked

Brighton beat Liverpool Everton and Chelsea draw Leeds beat Brentford We beat the Mackems All of a sudden we're 7th, 3 points off Chelsea in 6th and 4 off Liverpool in 5th, I mean it'd have to be a perfect storm but we've got a real chance going into the vinegar strokes of the season
-
Samu seems like the perfect storm for us this summer, we've expressed an interest and the injury means his stock will have fallen since last summer. It feels like the Isak situation again and I think this lad has all the attributes we need in raw form.

This is the nuance to it, it's not the argument that we should be able to just go and buy success, it's an expectation of equality of opportunity. Instead of anchoring to the most cash strapped team in the league, anchor to the top team and let the best run club win, surely thats fair competition, right?

I tend to agree, don't care what anyone else thinks about what happened, maybe embarrassing is the wrong word I used, more gutting that we took it that far only to watch it all get flushed in 20 minutes of madness. As for the clubs/managers/players status, no one will remember this in a years time, or when we get back in the CL and dish out a thrashing of our own, football is very short term, recency bias. Everyone will have forgotten about it by the time the international break is over, and as for players looking to make a move in the summer, all they care about is how much they're going to get paid and the ones who move for sporting endeavor will think they're good enough to improve us and prevent that from happening again. It's not as deep as the spiral is taking you guys.

It was already a pretty foregone conclusion tbf

It was gutting in the moment, but I'm OK with it now. I'd have liked to have gone further in the competition, obviously, but now I'm excited to see us unshackled after the international break.
-
I knew today would see some fall out, such recency bias but extremely short sighted too when you think of the previous 3 halves of football, one of which was played not 15 minutes before the capitulation. There is nuance to it and yes PSR, referees and such do play a part in it. Yes, it stings to lose so emphatically, it does feel slightly embarrassing, but only that half of football, until that point we were more than a match for one of the best teams in the world. We made a decent fist of this CL campaign, we ran out of steam, it happens.

I've not given up hope of him coming good, we have an international break after the weekend and plenty of time on the training pitch between games in the run in. There's time for him to turn his season around if he applies himself and let's Eddie work his magic.

Exactly my thoughts too 👏🏻 we went toe to toe, we pushed them to our limit and died on our feet, absolute warriors, the lot of them, not least the manager. The competition is designed for the same 8-10 teams to come out on top every time, rake in the most money every time and keep building the best squads every season, the odds are heavily stacked against anyone trying to break into the named elite and we made a fist of it. Despite the score in the end, I'm still incredibly proud of a manager we're lucky to have and players who aren't quite at this level but gave everything to try and make up the difference.

How can you suggest a resignation based on one half of football? How reactionary and emotional can you get? I think we'll see a bit of that from some corners today too. For me, its done, we did better than I expected but I am disappointed that we didn't do as well as I thought we could. The fact that this team took it as far as we did before our legs went is proof that there's no man better for the job, rather than the contrary, but then knee perk is what we've come to expect from talksport. This game is filed away in the depths already, we just need to win on Sunday and limp through to the international break, after which I can see us going on a rampage for the last stretch of the season and hopefully we end up somewhere respectable, with some kind of European campaign next season as a reward for what has been a totally tumultuous season.

Ramsey, Willock, Big Joe is more than enough for the morlocks

Look at the gulf in money and class man, we went toe to toe with them for 3 halves of football, took them to the wire and finished dead on our feet. It wasn't a fair or fitting end to a tie we were in for 135 minutes of football, they did us proud for as long as they could, we left it all out there. I just hope there's enough left in the tank for Sunday and we don't let that second half capitulation ruin what has been a good and confident run for us. Edit: Wrong thread but I cba moving it now.

Noa Lang, went into the hoardings and looks to have slashed his hand open on something
