Aston Villa v Newcastle - pre match drinking
WarrenBartonCentrePartin replied to bealios's topic in Football
last time I went with them incidentally was the trip down to Villa that I mentioned before. I remember sitting on the coach for a good 90 minutes afterwards because a charver had got nicked for being drunk and disorderly (they'd smuggled drink down) outside some polis station in the centre of Birmingham. However the 'steward' on board refused to depart, leaving said knobhead in the nick due to the probability that his mother would go off it when we got back to town to find her son wasn't with us. -
what a fucking hovel that place is. Thought Byker morries had some strange people dwelling within, but that tops it.

went to Villa when in what I think was Roeder's first game as caretaker. Was with the back page, so had little choice other than the Cap and Gown. Was alright. They do charge entry though. -

my housemate just picked up on this, why is it 2009/10? Shouldn't it be 2009/11? Or is this 'cos our sponsorship with the Rock will run out then?

if you want the red adidas style, wiggysports.co.uk (I've linked to them before) seem to stock every type of lettering and numbering imaginable.

what happened to chonbuk motors over there? my housemate used to be them on fifa all the time, and now they've disappeared -
I decided 2 years ago than I'm getting names/numbers put on the shirt, but instead of current players I'm getting legends names instead. 2 years ago I was going to have Milner but instead decided to go with Asprilla 11 on our current shirt. Think for the next shirt I'll be getting Beardsley. had the same thought. Also thinking of going for Beardsley!

Birtley Town FC played some absolute dogshite once. Believe it or not, they're no worldbeaters, whoever it was they were playing (I want to say Hebburn, could be wrong) were atrocious. I remember one ball was hoofed clear by a centre half, bounced, and caught the keeper out who was in no-mans land and went in. Also an amazing own goal in the form of a flying diving header. -
absolutely mental. Brilliant!

yup. What our overseas friends might not realise is that fans even living over here that can't make it to SJP won't be able to see games live either. We have "the championship" on sunday morning, but it doesn't exactly show extensive highlights. The best bet if you're that desperate is to get nufctv, listen to BBC Radio Newcastle live online (believe it or not, this is what people used to do up until a few years ago!!!) and watch when they bung the highlights up. As I said, this was done (albeit using MOTD for highlights, not the net) on a regular basis until recently. Its not as bad as you think. No need to go and support another club for christs sake. -

the father bought a new fanzine the other day from the people at Talkofthetyne. There's a bit in there where they brand NUSC pretty much useless and ineffective.

www.wiggysports.co.uk Give them an email. I'm 90% sure they'll still have that style in stock, considering they can get hold of number styles from before there was a standard Premier League design. PS. that shirt was naff imo. The 'shield' on the back was hideous.
