Vancouver White Caps Given MLS Status.....
WarrenBartonCentrePartin replied to NG32's topic in Football
saw them play Real Salt Lake at home when I was over there in September. Is Angel one of the best paid players in the league? Looked so unmotivated and half-hearted. Must be easy money. I have no idea how much he makes, but even in full don't give a s*** mode, he seems to still be the best on the team. yeah, it wasn't similar to what Sunday league is over here. Just hoof it clear, don't bother trying to turn defence into attack. Have to say in a strange way I enjoyed the game. It was just the little things that are done differently over your way, eg. putting a PA announcement out when someone gets a booking, and also announcing who got the assist. That stuff isn't done over here. I did chuckle when the nutter NY fans behind one of the goals shouted "you suck asshole" everytime the RSL keeper took a goal kick. -

I'm sure on my way to football last night I heard Motson on 5 live commending Butt on his performances while we're going through the shit. If anyone else heard him, correct me if I'm wrong, I was only half listening...

NUFC Permanent Manager 09/10 if Kinnear decides to leave
WarrenBartonCentrePartin replied to a topic in Football
Nigel Clough. Ashley will go to watch The Damned United and get it into his heed that if he appoints his son, he'll have Brian Mk. II on his hands, applying not an ounce of sophisticated, intelligent or rational thought. -
Bernie said at the start of the show Malcolms off all week. Guy I know at Century said its not true.

Time To Make Our Feelings Known Again?
WarrenBartonCentrePartin replied to Skirge's topic in Football
the shit really will hit the fan if we fail to beat Fulham at home and that confirms us as relegated. Still, I don't believe Ashley will do much, if anything at all, despite what could escalate into a full-scale riot breaking out in and around SJP. -
Could speak to one of the people I know at Century and try and find out, but he might not want to say anything, although he did talk openly about Bernie being banned from the boro. If its him, they might mention it tonight actually.

The Newcastle United Transfer Thread MkII

Newcastle are chasing Huddersfield's highly-rated young keeper Ben Smithies, as Shay Given's long-term replacement. (The People) -
Mike Ashley; what will it take to make you appoint a manager?
WarrenBartonCentrePartin replied to Tsunami's topic in Football
thinking about the supposed interested names after Keegan walked many moons ago (Zico, Terim etc etc) just makes me want to puke. The more I think about it, dillying and dallying, then appointing fucking Kinnear really makes me wonder if we'd be better off if we'd had a blind chimp with one brain cell (and that brain cell only contained limited football knowledge) as owner. -
I'd let that monstrosity from Durham nosh 'iz off, so desperate to avoid relegation I am.

Yeah it is, just phone the setanta number and order it there. really? thought you couldn't any more?

fuck me, Fulham

Joe Kinnear or Relegation: you make the call
WarrenBartonCentrePartin replied to oldtype's topic in Football
Oldtype, you're banging on about giving Kinnear a 3 year contract, if we stay up, and lose our opening 7/8 games next season, do you think Ashley will keep standing by him? Yes he'd have to pay out, something he'd be reluctant to do, but theres no guarantee Kinnear will be here 3 years, man! See Otter's post for the best answer. -
We could really do with beating Stoke also. We absolutely must beat the teams below us and those just above us. I can't say I'm confident we'll beat Middlesbrough. We usually draw against them. I can see us drawing at Stoke, which will be a horrible game. In an ideal scenario I think we'll beat the boro. They're truly abysmal, and I still can't fathom how they beat Liverpool. The smogs I'm at uni with have already resigned themselves to fizzy pop football next season.

I think Garth Crooks said (a few weeks back, mind) that 38 would probably be enough to keep you up. Not saying I agree, just posting the opinion of someone allowed to give his views on the telly. I still think it comes down to the three 'winnable' home games against the smogs, Pompey and Fulham, which would take us to the magical 38 he suggested. With a nigh-on fully fit squad, there should (in theory!) be just about enough quality there to win these games. Furthermore with hopefully Kinnear to come back, (god! Having to describe him as a 'saviour' is hard!!!) anything else picked up along the way is only a bonus and should see us safe.

Aye, on a par with Beye's best this season. I'd say he's been slightly more valuable than Habib simply because of his crucial goals. Yeah, but Beye's season has been stop-start in terms of both short and long term injuries. Agree with Ronaldo that our best back 4 is Beye Coloccini Bassong Enrique

Taylor's better performances this season have come at right back.

Kinnear anyday. What a silly question. We'll be in far more shit if we go down.
