I totally agree with you, if they were my kids I would too. As I said I don't for one minute condone what they did or the idiots banging on his car. But I still stand by what I said about Dyer.

Its a occupational hazard. Being a footballer means much more than kicking a ball about, something Dyer in ten years here hasn't learned, well maybe he did, just took him years to figure it out. I'm sure for the millions he's earned for nothing i'd take a few eggs But it wouldn't happen to me, as fans would never have a problem with me, i'd respect the club paying my £80kpw far too much to fuk them about. End of the day, his past has caught up with him SLIGHTLY, and if that's all that ever happens to him he's got off lightly. I'm not condoning any of it, but can understand why someone would want to abuse him before he left. I have to agree, while not condoning what happened and agreeing with Mort in a way that this is not the right type of image we want when trying to lure players here, we also have to take a step back and be a bit sensible about this. Ok his house got pelted with some eggs - it shouldn't have happened, but no one was killed, maimed, decapitated, caught the plague ect. Some people have very short memories when it comes to Dyer, not so long ago he was dragging our clubs name through the dirt with his handbags crap with Bowyer. Everyone wanted to lynch Bowyer, but Dyer seems to have been conveniently forgiven. What about his part in Bobby Robsons departure, yes the details are open to debate but he definitely didn't help matters. Plus there's all his off field shanahans, like getting his cock out, burning money in front of fans' faces, home movie debut ect. Like it has been said before, if this is SO distressing for poor old Dyer, why hasn't he handed in a TRANSFER REQUEST? Why? because it's got fuk all to do about his family, it's all about him and his agent getting one last big payday. To think of all the money that the club's spent on sending him all around the world getting the best doctors to try and sort out his career (not to mention his 60k-80k a WEEK wages). Think of all the games (about 90%) he's played when he looks like he doesn't give a s*** (apart form sunday when he was in the shop window, funny that isn't it?), and what does he do when it at last looks like he might be clear of his injuries? He want's out. And to think of all the people who were calling for Owen to be sold and criticising him for the amount of games he's played for us. At least when he's played he's done the business for us. Ramage get's slated everytime he plays, fair enough he's not good enough but at least he's honest and tries. Dyer HAS the talent, but just uses it when he feels like it and that is worse than any of the others. I do think that out squad is dangerously thin and I thought that we should keep dyer to make up the numbers, but the more I think about it I would rather have Harper playing than him (ok, slight eggageration). Seriously though this parasite has bled us dry for 8 years and I think now, enough is enough. Bye, bye. Dyer is about as responsible for the incident with Bowyer as he is for having some cretins chuck eggs at his house tbh. What the f*** are "off field shanahans" btw? People have wanted him out of the club FOR YEARS. Now he finally acquiesces and admits he wants to leave and we get "Eh? But what about all the money we've spend on medical fees, you ungrateful b******?" He can't f****** win. As for Dyer's performances, I think it's pretty clear that for the vast majority of his time here he's been playing injured. Even when he was brought back into the team, he was never fully fit. It's only last season that we finally had him at a decent level of fitness for a prolonged period, but by then the damage was done and people have made their mind up to despise him. And he's been nowhere near as bad as people try to make out when he has played. Not even close. I think it's a shame he's leaving because he can be a good player for us, but I totally understand him wanting to go. Especially in light of recent incidents and the fact that he must know that trying to win the fans back over is a pointless exercise. Aye, sorry, it's all the fans' fault. Saint Dyer's so hard done to. Ungrateful? For what?

Good post, but obviously you are a mong as you don't think this incident should go to the Crown court and the perpetrators hung by the neck until death. (about the same level of over reaction as some on here over the incident) I plead guilty m' lord.

Also just last week we were supposed to have had a 7m bid for an unnamed defender accepted. That fee plus the obvious wages over 4-5 years would have been more than 10m. As I said before, bull$hit.
-
To be honest neither The People or The Sunday Sun are the most reliable of papers. It was only a week or two ago that we were bidding for Ronaldinho, Deco, E'to and god knows who else. That turned out to be bull$hit, and so will this.
-
I'm not that bothered to be honest, I like to see wingers swap sides a few times in match. It offers the something a bit different when they can cut in and have a shot. It also keeps the opposition on their toes a bit.

Apart from the big 4 who will finish above us this season?
beardsleymagic replied to Parky's topic in Football
Spuds - I agree with. Everton - haven't bought anyone have they? (I could be wrong like) But are very one dimensional. Portsmouth - I think took everyone a little bit by surprise last year. It will be a lot harder this year as teams will be a bit more clued up to them. Villa - never be impressed with them, and don't think they've dramatically improved their squad yet. Man City - just avoided relegation last year and their buys are all unproven in this league. West Ham - I'm not sure if their 'just throw money about' strategy will work. Tevez was the main reason for their upturn in fortunes last year, and they won't be able to replace that sort of quality. As for us, I think the return of Owen is like a new signing. Add to that Viduka, Geremi, Barton (when fit) and Rozehnal and we've already inmproved on last year. Then there's a better manager in Sam, hopefully some more defenders and I think we've not got a lot fear of these lot. -

beardsleymagic replied to Parky's topic in Football
Hard to say as i'm sure most of these teams (and ourselves hopefully) will have added to their squads before the begining of the season. I don't think you can really predict where teams will finish until they've bought who they want and the window shuts, but if you're going off who everyones got now, it pains me to say but because of our defense I would have to say at the moment Spuds above us. I'm now off to have a shower as I feel dirty and ashamed. :-[ -
Dyer given permission to talk to West Ham, fee agreed
beardsleymagic replied to iklgizmo's topic in Football
Would just like to add that personaly I would love to get rid of the little fucka, but if we can't as it seems get anybody in quickly to replace him, then don't leave us in the shite by selling him for peanuts just to line his and his agents pockets. -

Personally I don't buy this family issues shite. If this has been going on behind the scenes then it's not just happened overnight. Why has he not handed in a transfer request if he's SO bothered about his family? Any other footballer would move his girlfriend and kids to wherever they were playing. What's happened is probably that he's got a bit of stick of the fans after the end of last seasons pathetic displays, been on the phone to his big pals in London (bet it took Jenas a while to get his hands on his phone ), and they've said some shit like "come on clubbing down here man, divin't put in a transfer request and just give the stupid twats a sob story. Then you divin't have to give up your slice of the transfer fee". Either grow some bollox and hand in the transfer request and fuck off or, shut your snivelling little trap and do what your payed well over the odds to do. -
Have to admit, this is getting a bit worrying now. I know we have a new inexperienced board and whatever. Surely they must realise that fannying on over transfers for whatever reason - whether it being a bit tight with the money or just not fully knowing how to go about it - is going to have a detrimental effect on the club in both the short and long term. If it's true that Sam has tried and failed in the past week or whatever to get about 10-15 players, then that is VERY worrying.

beardsleymagic replied to iklgizmo's topic in Football
Simmer. Aye, mebbies i've went a bit over the top, but i'm just a bit peed off that this close to the season we've still got a paper thin squad and then not only with three of our midfielders out for a while (Barton, Emre and Duff), we've now got Dyer playing up. I think my point is, if this family thing is serious (and I wouldn't wish anything bad on Dyer), and it was me I would put my family first and hand in a request straight away. If as it seems Dyer has just said he wants to go for this reason but not handed in the request, to me that just seems like it's all about the money and not his family. True, I need to calm down a bit, but i'm just feeling a bit frustrated at the minute. -

?? You got "greedy money grabbing c**t" from "family issues"? I love it when people are rational and don't jump to conclusions! Na, my point was if he wants to go for "family issues", then why has he not handed in a transfer request? That is, if it's not just about the money for him and his agent. -

beardsleymagic replied to iklgizmo's topic in Football
IF this is true about "family issues" or whatever, then let the greedy fucker hand in a transfer request. He's on - depending what you belive - a reported 60-80k a WEEK and he doesn't want to give up his cut of the transfer fee? After everything the greedy little c***s took out of this club he still wants more. This is the type of greedy money grabbing behaviour that gives footballers a bad name. Like I said "if" this is true, then get shot of the sniveling little b****** as soon as. -
100% my opinion Aye, agree with you there like. Not by any stretch my first choice, but if it's a toss up between getting these in before the end of next week, or panic buys on the last day of the window, i'll go for these lot.
-
If we can get our defence sorted out with a few new players, I can see us up there with Spuds and whoever. Our attack can match anyone out side the top three. And if the defence is stronger than in previous seasons, we might just see the odd 1-0 win rather than going 1-0 up then drawing or losing it in the final 15mins.
-
Aye thats right. Makes it more of a gamble now, it's either - he's away for the season or maybe playing reserve team football all season. Personally i'd take the risk and loan him out to the highest quality team that will have him. That would be the best for him in the long run.
-
Fucking great!
-
Hope he's not as bad as it's being reported. Fecking gutted if it's true. >
-
I just think this is a load of paper bollox to be honest.
-
Wouldn't sell him for £2m, even though he's a cock. On his day he can still be very useful for us. And even if he decides to let him go... not without a replacement in place FIRST! please. As for the Emre stuff.... this man's a joke! I'm not kidding in the slightest, a fucking moron of the highest order.
-
Oh aye! We don't want to name any of the clubs involved as they haven't been charged with anything yet, and we don't want to tarnish there reputation with unestablished accusations. ....oh, by the way.... one of thems Newcastle United. Aye, thats fair.
-
£20m for Crouch?!?!? You have got to be fucking joking!!! Has the world gone mad ffs!!
