Exactly, why the fuck didn't we hold out for more money. They were under the ufea cup deadline, we could have shafted them for more money surely.

Shay Given signs for Manchester City for £5.9m plus add-ons

Bitter as f***. Awful attitude. I am bitter, i also really don't want Man City to do well, not our player anymore couldn't give a toss, hope i never hear the 1 Shay Given song either. We all know why he's going. So? Comments of someone with a broken heart, more than sheer bitterness actually. Why not the summer? Exactly, for while i will always appreciate what Shay's done for us over the years, i can't help but think the timing of the move couldn't have come at a worse time. And because of that, where at one time i would have wished him all the best, now i hope City crash and burn. -

For fucks sake!! This is getting beyond a joke now!!! What kind of fuckwits are negotiation for us, we can't even get the richest club in the world to pay the going rate for a world class keeper! This is so simple. Set a price, give them a deadline, if they don't meet either one, tell them to FUCK OFF!!! -
Are they playing with fire tho if they do that. I mean they could nip this whole KK thing in the bud from the off by going in a different direction. Agree but its our own fualt, they way we all raved about KK and the kick off when he left. Any new buyer will think its what every fan wants and that he is the only man for the job. I suppose one thing if he did come back we would be safe this season, we missed the KK team talk on Saturday. Aye missed that team talk. I just feel the possible new owners would have looked at the KK situation and thought "fck that, he has way to much power and influance" Not really, if the new owners make it clear from the start that Keegan has the only say on who comes and goes and stick to their word on how much money he has avalible to him, then everyone will know the buck stops with Keegan and if things go wrong there's no else to blame.

Mike Ashley confirms he wants to sell NUFC - see OP for full statement

Again IF this is remotely true, this man lost 300m on a BET, but refuses to negotiate in the region of 100-150m (depending what you read) for the sale of the club. Yeah right Ashley, the best intrests of the Toon at heart. Bollocks. -
BUT - he doesn't want (or intend) to sell - unless a 'silly' offer comes in. He is hell-bent on revenge against us . . . and he knows EXACTLY how to do that. Just watch. yeah, us getting relegated and looking a farce like this is really in his interests, as the value of the club will soar that way. oh wait.... Aye, i agree that us getting relegated is surely not in his best intrests. But by asking for silly money that he's never going to get, not much chance of getting a decent manager in under the present circumstances, and not strengthening the already thin squad when he could doesn't look like a recipe for success either though. So i can see where a lot of people are coming from.

A lot of what Ashley say's has proven to be lies (Keegan has final say over wise then the board saying this was never the case and Keegan knew it ect). But now a lot of people are willing to believe anything he says over Keegan who we have no reason not to believe. Unbelivable!!

When was his family threatened? -
Whilst i agree that in the long run the club has to be run more efficently, such as improving our scouting system and academy and such. But also in the short term we had to have a sizable investment in the first team. We we're lucky last year not to be dragged into a serious relagation scrap and this year our squad is smaller while a lot of teams have improved. I feel as though all this sustainable club thing is just a convienient excuse for Ashley not to invest in the first team therefore improving his profit margin when he (as he has always intended to) sells up. It IS the right way to go about running a club, but when the first team is in dire need of investment you cannot dice with the threat of relegation hoping that in 4-5 years time our scouting system will have uncovered some players for the first team. Ashley knows this, and also knowing that to make a serious impact (and therefore increase the clubs value) in the league, he will have to invest a LOT of money into the first team squad. So in my opinion he has went for the cheaper option of trying to make the club look more appealing behind the scenes and trying for a quicker sale before we are in serious threat of relegation, and therefore less attractive. This is what he's been planning all along, it's just happened quicker than he expected with all the protests. If he was as traumatised as he says he is then lets see how much he accepts for the club, a small but not to shabby profit or hold out out for a ridiculous amount that has been reported in the papers.
-
Sunday Sun (i know, i know) are reporting Ashley wants £450 million, nearly double what he's put up, for the Toon. IF this is true, then there's you're answer why people have enquired but then pulled out of a deal. I think it's a fucking disgrace that he can ask (if he is) for that much when any new owner if wanting champions league asperations is going to have to plough anywhere from £75-£150 million (maybe even more) into the team.
-
I don't really know what i want yet. On the one hand, if we appoint a manager within the next week, i can't see Ashley selling up in the foreseable future because as it's been said the new regime will no doubt want their own man put in place. BUT.... if Ashley's not selling up then i think we could do a lot worse than Zico. He seems to tick a lot of the boxes that the club seem to want (high profile, used to working within the clubs current structure, i would like to think experienced (not Poyet!)). Maybe i'm just being pesamistic here (that's what supporting this team for well over 30 years does for you), but i just have a bad feeling that this will all end in tears again i.e. Ashley staying on not putting much money into team rebuilding and us getting Poyet then having to make do with a mid-table finish year in year out. Or worse still, let's be realistic, possible relagation fights. I desperately need something to cheer me up like.

KK resigns - see OP for new club statement issued September 6th

WHAT THE FUCK!!!! is going on with the club? Will there ever be a season (or even a month) that goes by without something happening that makes us the laughing stock of football!! -
Like it's been said before, the timing is shite, but as long as the club take a stand and ask for silly money (like Villa are for Barry) and get a good replacment in, then i won't be to bothered. On the other hand, if they don't get anybody in.....

The Magedia Thread - Sunderland suck trollolololol

The problem we've got with the Barton situation is, we've got a paper thin squad to chose from already and it doesn't look like we've the greatest amounts of cash to flutter away on new signings. The bottom line as i see it is that we can't afford to sack him, and that's the real reason. -
This coming from the paper that "exclusivley" brought us the "toon sacked Joey Barton last night" story. Yeah rightio mate.... i wouldn't bother wiping me arse with that rag.
-
...as it is wildly expected, KK reverts to a 442 next season (433 being a stop gap to pull us out of the shit). And he's looking for someone to take over Viduka's role as target man. Who will partner our new striker? Will Martins have to be happy with a super sub role? Or will KK ship out Owen for a nominal fee? OR.... will he play Owen at the tip of a diamond formation midfield? Not saying any of this will happen obviously, just wondering what peoples thoughts are on the matter.
-
In an ideal world i would love KK to unearth a player in the Sir Les mould - quick, powerful and good in the air. But then again... what's the chances eh?
