  1. nothing like seeing Man United lose to Leeds and then Birmingham is there?
  2. He may not be the answer in the long term, but hes banging them in for league 1 and would be a great championship signing. I reckon if we are 70% sure of going up now, we could sign him and be 90% sure of going up (figures plucked out of air) on that basis he would be worth a couple of million on the basis that wed be able to sell him and the premiership money is far superior.
  3. excellent. a win for a forest keeps 6 points between us and brom, even if it does mean forest catching up a bit. a 1-1 draw with a couple of red cards would be much better though!
  4. is that live or before the game? does that mean they will have played 24 games, like us after this game.
  5. sky sports live score centre has west brom on 45 points from 23 games. surely that means if they win this one and then their game in their hand, then they go above us on goal difference? i think thats a mistake
  6. Its my primary school friend's sister's birthday on the 15th. Shes a looker as well
  7. My birthday this one. A nice scrappy 1-0 win would be a great present.
  8. i dont reckon well sell colocini, that would be mental and his partnership with taylor has been the main reason for our success this season. selling colo would make me a lot less confident about promotion.
  9. matt taylors goal v sunderland was an absolute belter. no way him or figueroa will win it, because man united will just phone in in their droves and vote for rooney without actually watching any of the others
  10. If we get promoted, then we should and will stick with Hughton. Hes not going to be the best manager in the premiership, but hed deserve a shot at it. Having said that, Id find it difficult to say no to Mark Hughes to be honest. If we sack Hughton, wed be deservedly slaughtered and the managerial merry go round starts again. Not that I think that we should extend his contract. He is the right choice in the short term.

    Mark Hughes

yes without any shadow of a doubt. cant see it happening if we get promoted, hughton will be given the chance. hughes would be a good bet, curbishley would be another choice.
  12. good shout. theyve actually appointed hart! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/q/qpr/8417908.stm?DCMP=KNC-SkyTicker1
  13. im not saying i agree, but his chairman will have said keep us by any means possible. if he doesnt, chances are he will get fired. its contraversial, but its the way football is going these days. money money money.
  14. if at the end of the season, wolves go down he will probably lose his job. the chairman has probably said with the money an all that survival is the priority, therefore the guy is doing everything to ensure 3 points against burnley and his own job come the end of the season. i dont like it, but with money being crucial to football these days its no more evil than naming a stadium emirates, reebok or sportsdirect.com@st james park.
  15. from mick mc carthy's point of view, i can see why he did it, for a team like wolves premiership survival is the whole aim. highly unlikely they were going to get anything at OT and with a game against burnley at the weekend, 3 points there is imperative. its not what id like to see, teams effectively resigning to defeat but with the money of the premier league, its always going to happen. Man United are absolutely miles ahead of wolves, and wolves are desperate just to stay up.
  16. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/championship/newcastleunited/6769503/Nicky-Butts-Manchester-United-days-are-lifting-Newcastle-says-Chris-Hughton.html?DCMP=KNC-SkyTicker1 sorry if posted elsewhere Butt, 35 next month, came through the ranks at Old Trafford alongside the likes of Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, the Neville brothers and David Beckham and the fact they are all going strong is down to the education they enjoyed under the auspices of manager Sir Alex Ferguson. "You only have to watch Nicky train to know to see why he is still going strong at his age," Hughton said. Related Articles Newcastle probe Carroll arrest Andy Carroll questioned over 'assault' Alan Smith revels in Newcastle resolve Newcastle United 2 Watford 0 Sol Campbell wanted by Newcastle United Roeder: Newcastle need to invest in new players "For someone of his age, whether he is at fit as he was at 24, I don't know, but he can't be that far off. He is a very tough individual. He is a player who generally trains the same way every day, with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. "Whether it is a Man United thing, I think that's part of it. I think he was with a group, a real tough group of players, Gary and Phil Nevilles, Giggs, Beckham, Scholes players still going and I think his background has enabled us to see what he is every day in training." Butt is expected to be recalled to Hughton's first team as a replacement for the suspended Kevin Nolan at relegation-threatened Coventry tonight when the Championship pacesetters could extend their lead in the promotion race to seven points over nearest rivals West Bromwich Albion. Hughton has not been able to guarantee Butt a starting slot this season but the combative midfielder appears to have reacted in exemplary fashion "He has been very good about it," Hughton said. "Part of it is that he has had a couple of little spells with injuries so he has not been available right the way through that period. "But what he sees is a team that has done well, he sees players like Alan Smith and Kevin Nolan predominantly who have played in central midfield and have not really missed any games through injury. "They are players who have generally been fit and I think he just appreciates we have started well and he has just got to be part of it." Hughton is convinced Butt will eventually follow him into management. "I think that if he wants to, he could be a manager, Hughton added. "He has all the attributes. But he has got to have the desire to want to do that. He is certainly very knowledgeable about the game. "He earns respect in that changing room for not only what he has done in the past but how he is now and how he conducts himself. Never late for training, always trains very well so he is the model professional."
  17. ive seen us beat palace, tottenham, west ham and fulham away. had my ticket for tomorrow but ive got swine flu. gutted!
  18. Im thinking a 2-0 away win, but desperately hoping Butt doesnt get put back in! Anyone know how much the away allocation is at the Ricoh and how many we have sold?
  19. gonna be in th minority here, but away to gillingham, millwall or brighton would be great for me!
  20. 2 nil win. probably a bit of a difficult one but hopefully a solid performance
  21. Well Im only a student. In principle I would very much like to own part of the club I support, just havent thought about how much I would like to put in yet. Would definately commit to a tenner if thats the minimum, but if this is a serious bid it would need a bit of structure.
  22. right, so how exactly do we intend to do this? i mean surely if you buy a share, it has to go in someones name. whos name does it go in? surely we cant buy a share in the name of "newcastle-online.org". How many people would be willing to commit if for example this share was in the name of Chris Barnes? For what its worth, Id be willing to put at least a tenner in if people can come up with a viable suggestion but I am a bit sceptical.
