  1. Or perhaps it is more due to the fact that they havent had the luxury of playing good teams in good grounds with good players, and fans and players are desperate to cause a shock
  2. Yes but how many of our players who have been fantastic this season were dross in the premiership? This season's success has been built on our solid defence- however Coloccini was woeful last season. It is difficult to see how players like Simpson, Enrique and Williamson will fare. Depending on the transfer window, we might be without Coloccini, Enrique and Jonas. I'd hope for new signings, but people need to bear in mind that looking at our current squad, we will be amongst the dross. The likes of Lovenkrands and Carroll are unproven, and Barton's and Routledge's record is questionable because of injuries and Nolan's due to fitness. Hopefully our defence will be better due to stability and being settled. The likes of Carroll, Williamson, Lovenkrands and Routledge will have had a successful season in the championship which means they should be improved. I dont want to sound negative. I believe that our current squad should have enough to be near the top of the dross. But, to be disappointed with 13th would be setting ourselves up for a massive fall in my opinion.
  3. Aims and expectations are different things. Aim for anything as high as 10th. Realistically, as fans we should be happy if we stay up, hopefully with a couple of games to spare.
  4. Look people, its far from sealed yet. Weve got a massive game on Monday night. A loss there and Forest would close the gap by three points and wed have it all to play for.
  5. Just get the win and we are still 4 points off West Brom with a game in hand, 1 point off promotion and 12 off winning the league with 6 games to go.
  6. 1 minute gone, 1 goal. Looking good! Two now. That would be your bet won then. 26 minutes not bad!
  7. Thats the iffy one on my accumulator. Could well happen though. Anyway, Champions League games are always midweek
  8. if you enjoy donating money to the bookies retirement fund Im not gonna back it, but I reckon Arsenal are more than capable of scoring a goal. If it gets to half time 0-0 we might have a very different 2nd half. That said, Im not watching the game
  9. 1 minute gone, 1 goal. Looking good!
  10. arsenal now 16/5 to win at home! maybe worth a punt?
  11. Liverpool winning at Benfica Fulham beating Wolfsburg (H) Millwall beating Brentford (H) West Brom beating Leicester (H) £20 wins £300
  12. I've got 2 flatmates who support ipswich and they are both adamant that Keane is the man to manage them.
  13. would be a good opportunity to purchase some back up players at knock down prices. Which may well appeal to Ashley!
  14. I cant share the view that many people have that Forest will roll over whilst we steamroll them. This game is essentially their last hope of automatic promotion. They need to win and will be pulling out all the stops to do so, so dont look into previous form too much. I reckon a laboured 2-0 to us.
  15. Taylor is a proven premiership player, whereas Carroll is not. However, Taylor's transfer fee would command more because of that. It all depends on whose fault this incident is, if it were that one needed getting rid of. If Taylor had done nothing wrong, and we chucked him out on account of it to appease Carroll, that would be a recipe for disaster.
  16. If this formation gets us a win a la Sheff Utd or Preston then fine. I dont care how we play, as long as we win. just want a battling away performance and back to winning ways. Otherwise, WBA and Forest could be breathing down our necks again
  17. i've laid millwall in a treble. backing betis nad verona to go with it. millwall leading!
  18. £20 on Millwall winning at Leeds today. 3/1. Beckford not playing!
  19. Blackburn's goalkeeper does not actually steal from his offspring.
  20. I really cant decide. We might have a first season like Reading or Wigan. More likely though, we'll be in a relgation scrap. I reckon with a reasonably good transfer window, finishing 12-14th isnt impossible. I think its vital we keep Hughton, seeing as our failure was attributed in no small part to the managerial merry-go-round. Hughton now knows the squad better than anyone else, has got the work rate and has shown the character to drop some players and made some good buys.
