  1. before the news of ashley selling the naming rights id have gone for a 2-1 win. but now theres no doubt in my mind itll be a 4-0 loss.
  2. there are problem places similar to zimbabwe, but watford is not one of them.
  3. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11678_5546058,00.html Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has confirmed he is ready to let striker Sam Vokes leave on loan. The Welsh international almost joined Derby on transfer deadline day, but they called off a move when Rob Hulse's move to Middlesbrough failed to materialise. Whilst Derby maintain an interest, the likes of Newcastle and Boro have also been linked with the 19-year-old. "We'll see what happens when everyone gets back from the international duty," McCarthy told the club's website. "Sam really needs to play some football. "There was half a chance he could have gone out last week. "For him to develop and for us to benefit he has to play regularly. "Sam has had a meteoric rise from Bournemouth and for him to improve he's got to play some football so there's a chance he can go out." McCarthy also hinted that the likes of Daniel Jones and Mark Little could also be loaned out. "We are in a good reserve league this year with fixtures to be fulfilled," Mick added. "But those games probably aren't of much use for players like Daniel Jones and Mark Little. "They've had a taste of first team football and need to be playing it. "We've not had any enquiries for any of them yet but we'll see." is he any good?
  4. bit harsh calling therm s*** grounds. give me grounds like that over SoL or the riverside any day. was only refering to selhurst park when i mentioned shit grounds, and like i say would rather selhurst than the emirates. never been to the others. very much looking forward to them. ive been to a fair few football league games and have enjoyed the lot.
  5. "steven taylor has nailed his colours to the mast and says he will remain at newcaslte despite relegation" "dave, it was a great party last night, ill nail my colours to the mast and help you clean up"
  6. very stupid of him. very fair punishment, and very bad for sheff utd, so good for us!
  7. i went to the palace game and absolutely loved every second! seemed to be a great atmosphere amongst us lot and some good banter between the fans. love going to new grounds, especially the shite ones. much better than sitting in a modern plasticy stadium like the reebok or the emirates. you get the impression people care about their team much more, even if there are a couple of goons. based in the midlands in 3 weeks time and will try and get to the likes of sheffields, forest, derby, leicester aways and a home game if possible
  8. yeah thought set up shop was one because i remember someone telling me a very politically incorrect joke about a certain ethnic minority group not being very good at football because every time theres a corner they have to set up a shop.
  9. come to think of it, i hate the way commmentators always misuse the world literally. "that chance was literally on a plate" "the newcastle defence are literally all at sea". well no actually unless were playing at portsmouth
  10. now its getting to the end of the game, bolton are happy with a point and have "set up shop". never understood that one.
  11. OK Mr Ashley, so if I do this I get the job tomorrow, thats what we agreed right?
  12. its alright people, we were playing from home. at SJP this would have been a completely different result.
  13. peterborough? blackpool? middlesbrough? who are these teams?
  14. fwiw ill go for xisco just to be different
  15. not that this was necessarily what dave was on about in the OP but do people actually believe this article on .com? it has no quotes whatsoever and is more likely to be utter guessing that the sun or NOTW iyam.
  16. this is very much an outside bet but does anyone else think chelsea might drop out? if hypothetically terry went to man city, others might follow him out the door and since they are being upstaged by other teams in terms of spending and attraction now, they might ot sign as big players as they have sold. coupled with the fact that theyve had several managers since mourinho now, we of all fans should know what instability leads to. as i say its unlikely but not completely out of the question.
  17. michael owen was obviously the bad egg

  19. just got back from holidays expecting this to be over long ago, I sign on to see who we have signed and were still fannying around! for christs sake its less than 3 weeks until our first game, how the hell is anyone supposed to compete for the league like this?
  20. ive been to selhurst and away fans are in the arthur wait stand. so thats 29.50 and 17.50. on the plus side it is pitch length but you dont get a great view from the back.
