Nowt attractive about WBA, dirty tackles and loads of luck. Still, got to be joint Favs with Forest to win the league. same again. its the hallmark of potential champions. but yes, in games like this i am just waiting for the final whistle. we need these points after a very poor period to get the momentum back.

Not disagreeing that the ref gave us a few, but you have one or two divers yourself don't you! We all get games like that, the ref booked our players for two fouls on Monday, but it took five fouls, some of them worse before yours got booked, its swings and roundabouts! We have a couple of players who go to ground easily, Gutierrez being the main culprit, I will admit. However, on the subject of Saturdays game, when you have a ref like that there is genuinely nothing we could have done to win that game. As someone else said, take away your dodgy pen, the first goal, and the 3rd (given that shola should have had his) and the result looks different. The ref was horrendous, but enough winging. Im just pissed off for those who travelled down from Newcastle for that to happen. Anyway, I bear no grudges against WBA, they just got lucky on the day. Hopefully both us and you will go up and replace some of the anti-football merchants like Bolton and make a decent fist in the prem next season.

To the WBA fan, I was in front of the area where both penalty decisions were made (Bednar goin down for the first and Ameobi not getting awarded his). We saw it perfectly. Both decisions were 100% wrong. I was with 2 ipswich fans and a chelsea fan who thought the ref was terrible and a mansfield fan who watches non-league football every week and said it was the worst refereeing performance hed seen in his life. It was beyond a joke, but anyway Im not going to go on about it any more. Im based in Birmingham, so in an ideal world, Newcastle would win it and WBA and forest would follow us up, because i think they are the only 2 teams that would really offer something to the premiership. So, Ill put it down to one of those days- referee ruined the match completely but we now have to concentrate on the league and hope that these decisions will be evened out.

Having witnessed todays game, there was absolutely no way we deserved to lose 4-2. Admittedly, we were poor in the first half but the penatly was right in front of me and absolutely wrong. We had a very good spell after the goal and had we been given a pen for sholas (stonewaller) wed have looked likely to win it. We just need to find some consistency rather than playing averagely.

he said it was the worst refereeing performance in his life. ive just got back from the game and it was beyond a joke. the first was not a penalty in a million years, i cant say for the second because it was down the other end but shola going down was an absolute stonewaller. I couldnt comment on the first goal crossing the line either but if we had got and converted that pen it would be 2-2 and id have backed us to win the way we were playing. The referee ruined the game and dont believe the sky sports match report either: "The Newcastle players were unhappy with the decision but could have few complaints when referee James Linnington then gave Albion a 31st-minute penalty. A long ball forward was not dealt with by Magpies defender Tamas Kadar and Bednar wrestled his way clear. The Czech striker was in on goal until Kadar hauled him down and the defender was fortunate to only see yellow."

Nobby Solano signs for Leicester City until the end of the season
ChrisJbarnes replied to Weznufc's topic in Football
probably the reason hes not signing is because ashley is instead lining up a swoop for James Milner for a cut price £18m -
shame. guess he wont be playing for us for a while then

If you were Owen Coyle, would you leave Burnley to manage Bolton?
ChrisJbarnes replied to Delima's topic in Football
In response to the title, I wouldnt leave prison to manage bolton to be honest! -
Hope Krul and ranger get a game even if they are starting mainly the first team.

nothing like seeing Man United lose to Leeds and then Birmingham is there?
-
He may not be the answer in the long term, but hes banging them in for league 1 and would be a great championship signing. I reckon if we are 70% sure of going up now, we could sign him and be 90% sure of going up (figures plucked out of air) on that basis he would be worth a couple of million on the basis that wed be able to sell him and the premiership money is far superior.

excellent. a win for a forest keeps 6 points between us and brom, even if it does mean forest catching up a bit. a 1-1 draw with a couple of red cards would be much better though!
-
is that live or before the game? does that mean they will have played 24 games, like us after this game.
-
sky sports live score centre has west brom on 45 points from 23 games. surely that means if they win this one and then their game in their hand, then they go above us on goal difference? i think thats a mistake

FA Cup 4th Round Draw - West Brom (a) if we beat Plymouth
ChrisJbarnes replied to a topic in Football
im studying in birmmingham so perfect for me! -
i dont reckon well sell colocini, that would be mental and his partnership with taylor has been the main reason for our success this season. selling colo would make me a lot less confident about promotion.
-
matt taylors goal v sunderland was an absolute belter. no way him or figueroa will win it, because man united will just phone in in their droves and vote for rooney without actually watching any of the others

If we get promoted, then we should and will stick with Hughton. Hes not going to be the best manager in the premiership, but hed deserve a shot at it. Having said that, Id find it difficult to say no to Mark Hughes to be honest. If we sack Hughton, wed be deservedly slaughtered and the managerial merry go round starts again. Not that I think that we should extend his contract. He is the right choice in the short term.
-
yes without any shadow of a doubt. cant see it happening if we get promoted, hughton will be given the chance. hughes would be a good bet, curbishley would be another choice.
