  1. What a dick. Applies to all footballers though unfortunately. If he wants to make it here he needs to sort out his act sharpish because he hasnt shown enough that he can go out on the town and smash people up and be a long term solution.
  2. Very glad to hear about this. Footballers have gone around acting like arrogant arseholes who reckon they can do claim their 100k a week and do whatever they want. how refreshing to actually see one of them made an example of and actually punished. maybe this will act as a kick up the arse for other footballers who might not have it all their way. hope terry's wife divorces him and gets a massive settlement now.
  3. Geremi leaving will be like a new signing
  4. He is a cocker-ney he parted the red sea.. MOSES good chant surely
  5. You literally put it in before I had a chance to go back and add it myself!
  6. Very simple poll. Just wanted to see what the opinion seems to be seeing as in the match thread people seem to be very unconfident.
  7. Who isn't calm? If we played poorly (and by the accounts on the radio and from those at the game we did) then what's wrong with being disappointed about it? I'm delighted with the win, we really needed it. But at some point we need to start performing to our abilities, even if it's just in preparation for next season should we win promotion. I'd like to see some signs that we're actually a decent team rather than just grinding out results against poor sides. The signs aren't forthcoming. I entirely agree in that we are not performing to our 100% best. but this is a very scrappy league and even west brom who have a reputation as the "barcelona of the championship" are pretty scrappy as we saw last week. We lost a couple of players to injury but I still think West Brom and Forest would definately want to be in our position right now. 6 points clear if we win our game in hand (scrappily or otherwise).
  8. If we get an average of 2 points per game, thats less than what weve average so far this season. that would take us to 95. west brom would then need 16 wins and 4 losses, or equivalent to equal 95. Even then it would need forest to keep going at the same pace for us to not go up. People need to calm down. I know we havent set the world alight but we kept another clean sheet with a makeshift defence and scored 2 goals.
  9. 20 more games this season in the league. thats a maximum of 60 points we can take. west brom now 8 points behind. regardless of forest, can anyone see west brom gaining 8 points more than us?
  10. ground out another difficult win. we were poor but bear in mind we were playing with a back four of kadar colo williamson pancrate for much of the game. sounds like a good debut a centre back (a difficult position) and anotherr clean sheet without simpson taylor and enrique. lets just hope we can start playing more convincingly and that these injuries arent serious.
  11. Nowt attractive about WBA, dirty tackles and loads of luck. Still, got to be joint Favs with Forest to win the league. same again. its the hallmark of potential champions. but yes, in games like this i am just waiting for the final whistle. we need these points after a very poor period to get the momentum back.
  12. Most Champions though play well for the majority of the season .. Yes but weve conceded 6 goals at home all season. If we can score 1 and keep a clean sheet at home then thats 3 points in the bag, even if unspectacular. itd still be nice to see us do teams like forest and brom seem to though
  13. The sign of champions is the ones that play crap and still win. We could play attractive football like west brom but if the result stays like this we are 8 points clear of them. id rather win ugly than not at all.
  14. Not disagreeing that the ref gave us a few, but you have one or two divers yourself don't you! We all get games like that, the ref booked our players for two fouls on Monday, but it took five fouls, some of them worse before yours got booked, its swings and roundabouts! We have a couple of players who go to ground easily, Gutierrez being the main culprit, I will admit. However, on the subject of Saturdays game, when you have a ref like that there is genuinely nothing we could have done to win that game. As someone else said, take away your dodgy pen, the first goal, and the 3rd (given that shola should have had his) and the result looks different. The ref was horrendous, but enough winging. Im just pissed off for those who travelled down from Newcastle for that to happen. Anyway, I bear no grudges against WBA, they just got lucky on the day. Hopefully both us and you will go up and replace some of the anti-football merchants like Bolton and make a decent fist in the prem next season.
  15. To the WBA fan, I was in front of the area where both penalty decisions were made (Bednar goin down for the first and Ameobi not getting awarded his). We saw it perfectly. Both decisions were 100% wrong. I was with 2 ipswich fans and a chelsea fan who thought the ref was terrible and a mansfield fan who watches non-league football every week and said it was the worst refereeing performance hed seen in his life. It was beyond a joke, but anyway Im not going to go on about it any more. Im based in Birmingham, so in an ideal world, Newcastle would win it and WBA and forest would follow us up, because i think they are the only 2 teams that would really offer something to the premiership. So, Ill put it down to one of those days- referee ruined the match completely but we now have to concentrate on the league and hope that these decisions will be evened out.
  16. Having witnessed todays game, there was absolutely no way we deserved to lose 4-2. Admittedly, we were poor in the first half but the penatly was right in front of me and absolutely wrong. We had a very good spell after the goal and had we been given a pen for sholas (stonewaller) wed have looked likely to win it. We just need to find some consistency rather than playing averagely.
  17. he said it was the worst refereeing performance in his life. ive just got back from the game and it was beyond a joke. the first was not a penalty in a million years, i cant say for the second because it was down the other end but shola going down was an absolute stonewaller. I couldnt comment on the first goal crossing the line either but if we had got and converted that pen it would be 2-2 and id have backed us to win the way we were playing. The referee ruined the game and dont believe the sky sports match report either: "The Newcastle players were unhappy with the decision but could have few complaints when referee James Linnington then gave Albion a 31st-minute penalty. A long ball forward was not dealt with by Magpies defender Tamas Kadar and Bednar wrestled his way clear. The Czech striker was in on goal until Kadar hauled him down and the defender was fortunate to only see yellow."
  18. Speaking to a Mansfield town fan on the train back who had gone as a neutral and he said that he watches non league football every week and has never seen any performance as bad as that in his life
  19. Where are away fans planning on drinking for this one? theres no away pubs near the ground
  20. probably the reason hes not signing is because ashley is instead lining up a swoop for James Milner for a cut price £18m
  21. shame. guess he wont be playing for us for a while then
  22. In response to the title, I wouldnt leave prison to manage bolton to be honest!
  23. Hope Krul and ranger get a game even if they are starting mainly the first team.
