  1. but, if Lille get 1 goal, which isnt that unlikely, then liverpool need the 3 to progress.

    Phil Brown

confirmed on their website. how many teams will he have relegated if/when Hull go down?
  3. cant see us keeping a clean sheet with some many defenders out. going forward we should hopefully destroy them with routledge and enrique back.
  4. I dont remember us getting particularly lucky with pens- Lovenkrands one against Barnsley being the obvious one where he fell over/dived.
  5. bristol doncaster reading, qpr and plymouth (towards the end of the season) will be hard away games with reading seemingly doing well, plymouth in a relegation scrap and QPR with warnock and a good squad could be heading for the playoffs. Doncaster are in 8th so will definately give us a game, and its the sort of game we will slip up in. Bristol are on poor form at the moment, so Id hope for 3 points there. Id back us to gain maximum points from most if not all of our home fixtures, its just the away fixtures that are unpredictable. west brom have to play boro and leicester at home, which will be tough but youd still back them to win. i reckon with the slightly better goal difference, the 1 extra point and the 2 games in hand, we'd have enough to win the league. However, it will go to nearly the end i think. good thing forest are almost dead and buried!
  6. had a £20 free bet on paddypower and was literally just about to put it on west brom beating swansea 1-0 with dorrans to score to ease the pain when it inevitably happened. guess what? couple of seconds too late and the betting was suspended! grr
  7. I think, if my logic is correct, I'm right in saying it would be 24 needed if we beat Forest (including the 3 from beating them) as that will be three points they can't get. we need 18 at the moment, but if we beat forest I guess we would need 15 other points. on 18 points, that would be 1.63 points per game, and as far as the season has gone, we have averaged 2.09! Surely we can't screw it up from here!
  8. As it stands- 9 points clear of 3rd place with 2 games in hand. Maximum return of 27 points for forest meaning we need 18 points from 33 remaining to guarantee an instant return to the premiership.
  9. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=368939888323&ref=ts Official petition to get Fifa to postpone the world cup until Becks is fit. Join now! Bloke who posted at the top completely missed the joke
  10. Newcastle Relegated from Premiership "Chris hughton is spineless, and is by no means a manager" Newcastle top of the league by 4 points with a game in hand "We are only top of the league because we have a premiership squad. Any manager would have got us here. Chris Hughton has done averagely at this level and will be a failure at premiership level" I don't get the above thinking. Hughton deserves all the very limited credit he gets, and although he may not be Mourinho or Ferguson, sacking him after winning promotion (hopefully as champions) is exactly the sort of decision that led to the managerial merry-go-round that was partly to blame for us being in this position in the first place. Give him time, and we will see.
  11. Scunthorpe's full back sent off. Should make things easier for Routledge/Jonas at SJP on Wed
  12. always going to happen. after all this is a very big important derby game.
  13. I was going to put 20 quid on a wigan win at 4/1. really wish i had!
  14. Don't know why Spurs and Villa get so much jip tbh. I've been to Villa a couple of times and sat in the holte end and yes, I did wonder if they were watching the same game as me (never stopped slating the ref and demanding penalties that clearly werent). All football fans are exactly the same, most couldnt tell the eyeballs from their arsehole. Take it with a pinch of salt
  15. We're looking good recently, so I'd hope for a win. A draw wouldn't be the end of the world seeing as this is probably our hardest fixture left (debatable). A win here and it's all plain sailing for the rest of the season
  16. For anyone who doesn't know of www.betclic.com, they are offering a free £20 bet. if you lose they refund it and you can withdraw the money it would seem. So, do I go for Reading to beat Villa at 13/4 or Wigan to beat Liverpool at 19/4? I know the reading odds arent that good but I just have that sneaky FA cup feeling! Any other cheeky bets for tomorrow?
  17. If I remember right, Ashley gave Hughton a 2 year contract. Surely if he had planned to replace him after promotion, it would only have been a contract until the end of the season? A 2 year contract implies that the plan is to achieve promotion, and if it seems to all be going wrong and Hughton isnt as good as hoped, itll be relatively cheap to sack him just before/during/after the January Transfer window
  18. Those who say and have said at the start of the season that we should get rid of him need to think what alternatives we realistically have. He's made a few mistakes which are plain to see but the fact is, we are 5 points clear at the top of the championship with a game in hand. That is highly commendable and I don't think that we would necessarily be in this position had we not kept him in charge. I think if we go up this season, we need to keep him in charge and bear in mind that we will be a newly promoted team, and that anything above 18th place is acceptable.
  19. cheers for the consolation goal though. shows youve got some perspective at least
  20. even better- handball to set up the equaliser!! take that you cant's!
