That will be Micky Quinn Arch industrialist/economist/accountant?
-
Well you could say he's taking a break now because of all the work he's about to do over the next few weeks, and if he doesn't get a break now he'll be without any holiday. I read somewhere he's back on Monday anyway. The problem is no-one knows apart from the people working at Barclays who are doing the number crunching. I take it if they give Shearer's plan the he will be Manager, if they say it will be disaster for us all. I just don't know why they are taking such a feckin long time like. Surely it doesn't take two weeks to look at the figures and say yay or nay.

Good post. You're so right about Sean Connery, leading light of the SNP but just happens to live in the Bahamas.

Dare i ask? Where's NE5 in all this? Is he keeping a low profile and hoping his hero returns?

Not if Barton accepts a massive wage slashing. Man, he's only wanting to stay here because he's on a massive wage. Remember the loyalty bonus he demanded from Man City? If he cuts his massive salary he could go to Blackburn or Bolton or wherever the fools are who want him. I just can't see Shearer wanting him, once you mess with Shearer you're finished I reckon, as for them talking I would guess the conversation would be very short indeed. I'm telling you he's hoping for Kinnear back so he can pick up his 60k per week.
-
I wonder if Barton's prepared to sacrifice his career just for the money? If he insists on seeing out his contract I wouldn't be surprised to see Shearer sticking him training with the kids. If it is Shearer he can't possibly take him back, he would lose credibility, perhaps Barton is just hoping we get JFK back.

Not much changed there then. I wonder when his move to Arsenal is?.
-
Oh good, he can take Xisco and Gonzalez off our hands.
-
Did he? Didn't know he got all that as well. I'm sure I read somewhere he bought the lot from Hall/Shepherd. Might not have been entirely true mind. I'm sure someone will confirm or deny. It's the only thinking behind the £100m pricetag and a £140m potential loss. I was talking about this to my brother last night as I too thought there was a lot of land and property that belonged to NUFC and that maybe this is not part of the sale and therefore writing off £100m in loans might not be as a philanthropic act as first seemed. I'm pretty sure there's no land etc involved, there would have been far more talk if there had've been - he just wants out after hearing how he's going to lose megabucks in the Championship.

We can but hope. My guess is that if 5 years ago he had a crystal ball and saw he was going to be Sunderland Manager he would have been touting himself around as a Mackem fan. I just don't accept this Bruce is a Mag palava. He's a Manc through and through, there has never at any time in the last 20 years been any indication that he is anything else than a Manc. He has high hopes for the Man U job when Ferguson finally retires, no chance of that happening either. As for his wonderful purchases, didn't Wenger recommend Palacios? He'll probably do a bit better than Sbragia, but the way he is getting bigged up on here is laughable.

The fact is that Capello doesn't and never has "fancied" Michael Owen. I might put a very large bet on that he doesn't play in the World Cup at all, however many goals he scores at Everton or whoever is daft enought to take him. If memory serves me right, when he played at Real he scored 4 goals in a Cup game, and he was dropped the next game by Capello. And was either benched or injured forever after. He must have had a very bad day when he heard Capello was going to be Manager of his favourite team in the whole wide world. In fact the only team he has ever been REALLY interested in.
-
Yeah but not because he left the club but because of the timing. He'll still get one of best receptions when he comes back with Man City. He'll be retired by the time we play Man City again in the Premiership man.
-
One of the best things is that we won't have to put up with the obsession of the lazy hacks who go on and on and on about him because they can''t be arsed to find out who else plays in the team. Like the times they were saying how we all loved him and we would be furious if he was dropped bla bla bla and that's just one example. I really think looking back on his career, he's just not a team player, he hasn't been universally popular anywhere he has played, his demeanour is one of indifference and moodiness. Wherever he goes now he'll be the same as he was here, injured most of the time, and sulking because he's not playing if fit. He's burnt out physically and I think he probably knows it. He'll be obsessed to get back to the England team, but he never will as long as Capello is in charge, even if by some miracle he scores a few goals. He probably knows that too, hence his long face for the last six months. I can't see him doing much at Villa, unless O'Neill wants him to play with his pal Heskey, and how would he be used at Everton? One up front? Nah, can't see that working either.

Setanta Sports 1. got it now, Scotland look quite good shock.
-
All this bollocks about him being a Newcastle fan is just that - bollocks. If they want to get the mackems on his side why don't they rerun the clip of his face when we beat the mancs 5-0, he was as gutted as gutted can be. He never was a Newcastle supporter, man he was about 3 when he moved to manchester to become one of them. He's found his spiritual home I reckon. I'm just thanking Christ he hasn't come here.

That's what makes me hope that there is already a serious offer on the table.. hopefully not by the dodgy Nigerian fellows or even worse - Freddy Shepherd Well some quote had it being an English Businessman with foreign investors. Freddie with his 34 mill plus some dodgy Russians/Thais/Nigerians?
-
This may be what Ashley was getting at in the Times article, praising up JFK, saying he took us to 13th from second bottom bla bla. No doubt his footballing friends will be telling him it's Shearer's fault we were relegated.
-
Probably why he's been doing things like flogging his JJB stake too, just in case. No - it's unrelated, he had to sell his JJB shares - something to do with monopoly - there was an article in the Times last week
-
Sounds like Shearer told him to apologise and then go forward, they''ve looked at what they need to put in and he's said fuck it I can't be arsed anymore. It's just more uncertainty and time marches on.
-
Sounds like what he was saying after the Villa game, someone asked him about Owen and he said one sentence about him and then moved on to sing the praises of Habib for about five minutes.
-
Who's? Whose?
-
Kesse I respect anyone who "chooses" to support NUFC. You could have chosen to support Man U like thousands (nay millions) of others, but you chose Newcastle and that shows you have taste and character. And you're obviously a masochist and all.
-
Shite tbh - they were all pretty poor. At least we have something to cheer us up this week (for the non Man U supporting people on here anyway).

Get in Barca, Messi walked this argument about who the best player in the world is. Ronaldo just spent most of the time admiring himself on the big screen. He is such a twat.
