Exactly. Owen is proven quality at the highest level and cashing in on him now is stupid.

Ameobi will never be a regular Premiership goal scorer. He can't hold up play, he can't keep his balance, he often misses the goal, he can't be a target man etc... - He needs to be sold asap.

We must sell not sell Michael Owen. He's a world class fnisher who will give us goals and we need him badly. I would only sell him if a bid exceeded £20 million. If we did sell him for £15million, I dont believe we can sign a striker good enough to replace him. We will only know if we have secured European football next season once this one has ended, therefore in January we will still not have enough pulling power to get the right man for our money. If you disagree with me, please state a player you believe we can buy in January who can replace Owen.

also, like Owen said - Craig Bellamy has been to the same surgeon, had the same op and is returning earlier, but no one is going on about him. spot on. fed up of reading Owen injury/England related posts with a negative spin. He's a world class striker and Newcastle need him if we want to get in to Europe and possibly do well in it next season. I don't think there is any problem with him playing for England at the moment, if there was he wouldn't play in these games.

Well... Babayaro is rubbish and always injured, without him we only have N'Zogbia who isn't a left back. Rather have him running towards defenders than marking the oppositions wingers. Also, if we are in the position where N'Zogbia, Babayaro and Enrique are out... we are screwed! (and this is easily possible given how bad our injuries have been over the years!). Actually just if Zoggy and Enrique are out, we're screwed. Possibly moreso if Baba manages to drag himself out onto the field. true! somehow my post gives Babayaro more respect than he deserves.

Good call on Dave Bentley altho it'd take £8m+ i'd imagine to secure him. Could also operate as the playmaker in the 3man midfield if so desired by BSA. I'd like to see us get rid of Babayaro, Ameobi and Pattison. In January I'd like us to sign... Another left back as cover for Enrique, possibly another youngster. Another striker to replace Ameobi. Either a well experienced intelligent striker who doesn't mind being cover, or a young one with good potential. We really should have got rid of Ameobi and offered Sibierski a 2 year deal in the summer. At least he offers something up front! I'm not sure that I want us to get another creative CM as we already have two in Barton and Emre, and its just been bad luck that they have suffered injuries over last few months. If we have some cash to spend then another promising youngster to play CM would be nice. We defo could do with a right winger. I'd like us to try and go for David Bentley. May need quite a bit of cash for that, but think he'd offer us a lot down right flank. I can't see us having the power to buy decent players until we secure European football next year, so get rid of the s*** and bring in some promising youth to give the team more depth. With a bit of luck we may get a gem out of the 3 youngsters we take on board.

Yeah same for me. Enrique needs to start to push Zoggy forward on the left as we desperately need him causing teams problems, and he surely will given his recent form. Emre has to play, we need someone who can make things happen in the middle, Smith has to be dropped for now. Praying for it to work out and we get a win, but can't see it against Everton. Guessing we may lose 2 - 1.
