  1. He'll destroy that league. He destroyed it first time around. Now, after playing at a more intense level at PL, along with 3 years of Howe coaching - he will be MVP in that league.
  2. With Ashley we blame him because he wasn’t ambitious and didn’t grow the club and benefit from the biggest growth spurt the league ever went though so we got left behind. what ratcliffe is overtly doing is visibly so much worse. It’s taking a club already primed and taking it backwards as can be. I do understand the need for pruning if things have gotten bloated, but this is nickel and diming and scraping the bottom of the barrel in parts. maybe there’s a method to the madness and it’ll all work out. But I don’t know which play book they’re following, has anyone ever taken over a club done what they are doing and been successful? Usually it’s the other way around, they invest more.
  3. Hadn’t seen that Rio clip in years. Was infuriating at the time. Karma.
  4. Honestly think Liverpool without Salah might drop off. That’s a huge amount of goals and influence to replace.
  5. Both Liverpool and West Ham spoke with Amorim and decided against him so that perhaps says a lot about what they saw in him. A little bit like us and Fonseca who was strongly linked pre Howe
  6. This is the first round of proper renewal - the first team Howe built has come to an end. The spine that first season initially was Pope, Trippier, Schar, Joelinton and Wilson. The stalwarts of that team - Almiron, Targett, Longstaff, Wilson, Willock, Trippier, Schar, Pope/Dubravka, Burn - their time is up, especially as starters. The second round of the team, is built on a even stronger spine of Botman, Tonali, Bruno, Gordon and Isak. Hall, Miley and Tino also very strong young players to add. Anderson and Minteh would have really been useful but hey ho. There are good support players we have such as Barnes, Murphy - but there's a whole lot of depth that is missing. Honestly, if we did a Forest and bought 10 players this summer I wouldn't even be mad, we really do need a full rebuild and refresh in that sense. I'd want them to try and challenge for the title next season - especially with that spine all entering their peak.
  7. Gordon is dispensable. Not really a purple for me, there’s no shortage of right footed LWs out there. He’s got a good mentality and speaks well etc. But the best sale we can make where we get 70m+ rather than Bruno, Tonali and Isak who are unique and I’d rather keep. Even Botman, Tino, Hall and Miley from that next tier down.
  8. It wasn’t just one new signing the reason they’ve struggled all season is because Rodri was out, well their replacement Nico was probably MOTM after Marmoush. And then the CB they stole off us Khusanov also played well especially given much of their defence was injured or struggling this season. so they’ve plugged all their gaps and are back to full strength. meanwhile we have to sell a summer signing because we need the cash
  9. I’d bring pope back in. Dubs was terrible today.
  10. Tino looked ok, so did Miley. Everyone else was rubbish.
  11. One of the worst performances of the season.
  12. You know what... Ashley was never overtly THAT bad. They've become ridiculous.

    Alexander Isak

Not sure why they would do that but then again they also gave away prime Etoo AND 40m (when it was a lot of money) for Ibrahimovic only to let him go after a season

    Alexander Isak

Assuming they really are broke and don’t have any cash, they could go a long way towards solving our depth problem. Isak for Araujo or Kounde (RCB), Raphina (RW), Frankie de Jong (CM) and Vitor Roque (backup CF). I’d take that deal and then spend the summer budget on a ST and GK.

    Joe Willock

Willock is good enough for depth without ever being able to be first choice. If he's happy with that, he's a good option to keep (injuries notwithstanding). If Joelinton is sold this or next summer, a new purple CM would make us fearsome. Not sure whether an enforcer type (to give us power) or a passer/creative type or an all-rounder like Big Joe however. A DM type like a Kante could be useful because Bruno RCM and Tonali LCM could also be very strong indeed.
  16. I’d keep him as a wise old head 3rd choice on lower wages but he’s got an ego and would back himself to be a starter. Can’t see him wanting that. West Ham would genuinely be a good shout for him. He is a handful but doesn’t perhaps push Isak the way he did last year or year before.
  17. But if we get CL is Wilson robust enough to take enough of the burden
  18. If Wilson can be the Wood 3rd choice type player and is willing to accept that role you can’t get anyone better for that. Experienced, good finisher and can still do a job against tired legs. He is settled so might be willing to accept that role
  19. Can definitely tell the difference between him and Hall tho, he is just solid and dependable whereas Hall really does have much more in his locker. Targett is a good defensive LB though to bring on to close games down

    Will Osula

More dangerous as a RW, as a ST all of his performances haven’t really worked. Even his Bromley goal was from the RW

    Will Osula

Potentially the chaos off the bench a Minteh would have brought this season
  22. Who needs a RW? we have our purple Murphy replacement
