Yeah I'm absolutely sure that these discussions go on a lot more than we are told, they just won't always be reported. I know for a fact that a senior player a few years ago agreed and signed a new multi-year deal and it wasn't reported on or announced until almost a year later

We rely on our centre backs to do quite a lot of risky and/or last ditch defending. It's going to go wrong sometimes, especially against top players. Thought Thiaw was great other than that

He's absolutely unreal this lad, especially for his age. Love his little drop of the shoulder when he cuts infield, beats his man every time. Feel like he's improved a lot defensively too. Another season and he'll be considered one of Europe's best (even though I think he probably already is)

The ball between the lines has been the weakness in our system for the last 3 years. It's the trade off for how we play, it won't change

Thought we were excellent overall. A bit more measured and less frantic (last couple of minutes aside) than we were in the first game against them earlier in the season. So frustrating to concede like that at the end, but I think we can go there and give them a really good game

He's worth keeping on the pitch in games like that, where he isn't having a great game overall, because he's so reliable in front of goal

Problem with the first game was that Pedri and de Jong ran the show in the second half and we couldn't get near them (and that Rashford spanked one in the top corner from 25 yards). If de Jong is out injured we might be able to get more of a grip of the game in midfield, although Bruno is obviously a huge loss in this regard. If we can get Joelinton rampaging around like he has been recently though then I reckon we might be able to win that midfield battle, along with an improved Ramsey who is fresh from not playing at the weekend. Gordon up front to try and take advantage of their high line. Don't mention Yamal.

Haven't seen it back but I'm pretty sure the ref originally signalled for a goal kick, ie not a free kick for a dive. Then the Man Utd players surround him and suddenly he thinks it's a dive and a yellow card
