It's definitely a trend. I used to write some articles for a football website that was quite stats-based and I looked into certain trends over the last 10 years in the PL - the proportion of shots taken from outside the box has steadily declined over the years, probably due to data analysis showing that it's "better" to try and work the ball wide and create a shooting opportunity inside the box. There's been lots of analysis of shot locations in basketball over the years and how they've changed due to analysis of the optimum shot locations, and football is definitely heading that way imo

I'm done with him now like. How can anyone defend no goals from open play in the league for a year from one of your front three who starts every week. Sell him in the summer

The lack of ideas in open play is really concerning like. Unless we're winning the ball from a high press we hardly ever look dangerous with the ball. Completely baffling that we refuse to ever change formation when we're chasing the game as well. Go 4-2-3-1 at least, get someone closer to the striker

Vividly remember this game. We gave up our season tickets the season prior to this as we lived in Leicester and were driving up and down every other week for the match and didn't think it was worth it. This was the first game me and my Dad went to after giving our season tickets up. I was only 16 but I remember being allowed to drink in pubs before and after the game with my old man and thinking how fucking magical it was. Great times

I was in the Leazes, just below the PSV fans and the noise was decent throughout. PSV were making some noise before the first goal but then pretty much nothing from 2-0 onwards. Some of our singing was disjointed, hard to hear the corner at times, but most people around me were making a pretty good effort to keep the singing going
