We would be stupid to sell him before the world cup. If he carries on playing the way he is now for the rest of this season and then goes on to perform well for France on the grandest stage then we could get far more for him. Plus if he had a bad world cup then we could just keep him. Arsenal were only willing to offer like £10-12m for him in the summer which would be absolutely crazy considering his value to us. Not to mention the absolute crap that seems to get valued at like £20-30m these days.

West Ham will probably offer him a fortune and he'll stupidly go there instead.

Yeah it doesn't bother me either the United thing. Only time it slightly irritates is when Sky or BBC etc are showing results and stuff and they don't bother putting anyone else's full name. Missing off the city, united, albion etc.

Think Man United, Spurs and Chelsea will all spend significant amounts of money this January. Perhaps Liverpool as well if the rumours of them wanting Cabaye and possibly Ben Arfa are true.
-
Yeah. Last year Man United won the league sort of by default it felt like. No one else seemed capable of mounting a serious challenge.
-
Didn't recognise him with that shaved head. Think Everton are going to be out of our reach to compete with this season.

Strikers are always great crossers of the ball.

Newcastle United vs Stoke City - 26/12/13 @ 15:00 (No UK TV)

Yeah same. Feel he will keep Ben Arfa on the bench for his bit of "magic" and to take advantage of tired legs late on. The only problem I have with that is I fear, eventually Ben Arfa will get fed up, and being so close to January I wouldn't want to lose him. That little cameo yesterday showed hes far too good to be sat on our bench every week. -
Absolutely bossed it yesterday. Playing like he was 2 years ago. Don't agree with the people saying he was finished physically as a premiership player. Hes not changed except mentally he was off, which was effecting his game.

"Sorry Lee, we've discussed this" haha, bet he had a proper

Might be my natural Newcastle pessimism but keep thinking although its all great at the mo, eventually we'll be overtaken by man u and spurs and be left battling with Southampton for 8th/9th. Unless ofcourse we have a good January window and go on a mad winning run like 2 years ago. -
Annoying me a bit. He's had one game, against west ham and lost. Feel like Redknapp bigging him up has gone to his head.

I don't care whether they survive or not. But we absolutely have to batter these fuckers in the next derby. We're far better but we have frozen in the last two derbies, plus they had a little new manager bounce each time.
-
He was, not now. He's trimmed down since he was dropped from the starting eleven. Think he's in fantastic shape now. Just look at his acceleration in the cameo today.

A lot of our good highlights were missed out there.

ahh Match of the Day. Lovely feeling waiting for it to come on after a good win. Getting used to this now

There is no way this comment won't come across like I'm being a smug arsehole, but about Altidore....... to the Americans........we did try to tell you.

Actually showed some decent pace today. Or maybe the player he was up against, really was tragically slow

I know what you're saying but goalscorers will always be held in higher esteem. They are the match winners, the difference makers.

I know we didn't move in the table today but to keep Man united behind us still despite them winning two in a row is nice. Saw my neighbour after the game today, who is a Man U fan, and gave him a big -
Oh and just wanted to say he was great today, but there was one moment first half where he let someone ghost past him and then just completely stopped. What followed was their best chance in the first half and led to a little 5 minute spell of pressure from them. Not a big deal as the good far out weighs the bad but don't like to see that sort of thing. Thought he might be injured the way he totally gave up tracking him.
-
No we won't because he doesn't cross with his left foot. He comes inside every time and that's why he won't be providing many assists no matter what he does anywhere else on the pitch. Actually he did go down the outside once and get a cross in with his left today after successfully beating his man a couple of times by cutting in before. I know what you're saying but he is actually very good in 1 on 1 situations. Has very good close control.
