It's all missing the point. He had so much space there was absolutely no need for him to even make it a close decision. Past examples show he has a very poor understanding of the offside rule.

I think 7th is the best we can realistically hope for with a sneaking possibility of 6th if Spurs go totally off the rails. Either would be good achievements which no one could knock, but we could just as easily end up 13th 18th yet, there's a long way to go and we'll find out a lot more about this team by January. FYP. We've had a decent start, but there's plenty of time left to fall into a death spiral. A long term injury to Remy for example would put us right in the shitter.
-
If we're thinking long term it has to be Colo who drops back out. But if we don't want to piss him off in the short term then he probs needs to keep his place seeing as he's the captain and all that.

We seemed to ride a bit of a wave of "luck" however you want to define it in the 5th placed season. I remember performances like the Norwich one on multiple occasions before starting to kick on after January and start winning games with more control. If we can do something like that again then I'm all for it

It's actually frustrating that Suarez is such a twat because I actually think his form has been so good, for so long now, that he should probably be getting mentioned in the same bracket as the best players in the world but think his cuntishness will stop that every really happening.
-
Think that red card was a direct result of them now having a reputation of being incredibly dirty cunts. After all their recent bad tackles and the Larsson one getting plenty of press coverage before the international break the ref has just assumed Browns gone in to do someone. Still a terrible decision mind but don't mind seeing them getting what's coming to them for all their terrible tackles lately.
-
If you are judging him off his first two seasons then you'd say it was an average game but based off last seasons form then it was a pretty good game.
-
Reyes is winding them up like crazy, drawing in fouls and getting people sent off. Nearly got a 2nd guy sent off at the end there

I hope nothing silly happens with Ben Arfa in January due to him being out the team recently. Also of course we must hang on to Cabaye. Could possibly see Colo finally getting his wish but the club won't be forced into it. Marveaux and Obertan could definitely be on the way out in January to make room for any potential signings. If we have a decent January window, then we could kick on and finish strong. If we have a bad window I think we'd still probably stay up more than comfortably. Too many shit teams down there this year and we're stronger than we were last year also.

West Brom seem like a better away team the way they are set up with the likes of amalfitano, sessegnon, berahino. Think it's going to be a difficult game.
-
Agree with others, there was no need to get that close. He had plenty of room to make sure he wasn't flagged. That's not what annoys me though, it's the way he gives the ball away constantly. Whenever it's played into him he always seems to lay it back but behind the player he's trying to pass to which puts us on the back foot.
-
I know stats don't mean much but their must be a concious effort this season to keep it on the floor seeing as we were top of the long ball charts last season and this year we're near the bottom of it. Plus there was that loud telling off of Iron Mike at spurs when he went long for no reason.

I like him a lot. There are moments like in the first half where we are passing well and he is pushed up and gets involved and his passing and dribbling are excellent. He's just a good footballer. His defending of course could always be improved but he's still learning and hardly a weak link in the team as it's not like we are constantly leaking goals from his side. I'd say it's notable that he is not getting forward anywhere near as much as he used to since probably that Everton game. I'm pleased about that as it seemed silly that both our fullbacks kept bombing forward like they were Roberto Carlos, as it kept exposing our centre-backs. Our turn around in form has coincided with this change of tactic as well as sticking Gouffran and Sissoko in front of them.

Missed all the chat, but sort of pleased he acknowledged the fact he fucked up at half-time and just hope he doesn't repeat it should we be leading against West Brom at half-time. Better than his TV interview anyway where he tried to claim we were always calm and in control towards the end which I don't think we were.
-
Wasn't at the game but from the tv he definitely looked like he'd lost a fair bit of weight? Or was that just me? Really hope he's worked hard in his time out of the team and will come back better for it. Hope he gets longer against West Brom as that will be a harder game.
-
His lack of confidence on the ball really isn't as bit an issue when he has someone to launch it to in Shola. Also having Colo alongside him makes it easier as he just gives him the ball everytime.
-
Don't think I ever saw him work as hard when I saw him in games for Bordeaux, as he does for us.
-
Feel a little bit like the crowd get what they deserver by always shouting shoot at him. I know it's more of a running joke but when he hears it he obviously thinks " oh ok I will shoot" Have to say though, he's a very important player for us again and for those who would prefer he didn't play, I think we would perhaps miss his presence.
-
Immense first half but yeah he really is only capable of 60mins max. I really would prefer Ben Arfa to start instead of him but when he plays the target man role so well like he did in that first half then it's hard to make a strong argument against him. Saying that though, he's had his one impressive 45mins now and will probably return to playing crap again by next week.
-
It's reached a point now where I really hope he stops bringing on Cisse. He's been atrocious every single time.
-
It's awesome that we have won 3 in a row and that is all that matters really. Just always that nagging feeling that games like today where we are comfortable and 2-0 up at home to Norwich we should really be going for the jugular and taking the opportunity to really entertain the fans for once. That 2nd half was a really chore.
-
Shouldn't replace Gouffran or Sissoko as both have been immense recently but feel we can still find a place for him. Certainly should be ahead of Cisse in the pecking order.
-
Looks trimmer. Shame he didn't come on earlier instead of Cisse.
-
It's obvious why we never score more than 2 goals in a game. Fucking made hard work of that 2nd half.
