  1. Ronaldo is incredible. I genuinely really hope he wins the Ballon d'or this year as he's been phenomenal for so long. For once Messi hasn't quite been at the top of his game and fuck off with this idea of Ribery winning it.
  2. Really am amazed how stupid Taylor is every time he opens his mouth.
  3. This man has made a cracking contribution to our season so far. Utter waste of space.
  4. Haha, someone mentioned it on here but in the first half against spurs, Williamson gets it and has.lots of options bit decides to go long to Shola. There is a very audible "Michael!" by Pardew in a teacher telling off a kid voice. Good to see we clearly are trying to keep it on the deck more this season as has been shown in the stats. Good also that he getting on Williamson's back about it as he's the biggest offender.
  5. Every time I see this thread title I read it in my head in this voice http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=KyXxio0aoCc#t=11
  6. Colo and Williamson are usually a steady partnership. I don't think it would be seen as pushing Mapou out of his position I think it will be seen as it simply is, Mapou is the next best option at right back after Debuchy.
  7. People keep saying this and yet the few times he's played there he looks awkward. I think left back is simply his strongest position.
  8. Shame to split up the back four and lose Debuchy while he's playing so well but surely Norwich is as good a time as any to have to make a change. Plus they have two weeks to sort it out in training.

    Sunderland

Is that 3 years in a row they have beaten Man City at home?. The Man City away form is shocking really for a so called title challenger.
  10. Massive result. How though. How did we not concede well happy.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Hate to say it but if Ben Arfa was going to progress into a far better player in the way that Ronaldo did then it should have happened a long time ago. Ronaldo had a natural progression into the player he is today, fulfilling his early potential. There were only a few years where he was frustrating and lacked final product. Ben Arfa's progression however has been stuttered and stop/start. I find it hard to believe no one would have told him the things like Sir Alex told Ronaldo above. I'm sure every manager including Pardew will have told him he needs to improve his final pass/shot and decision making. Don't think people would deny he hasn't got phenomenal talent, but talent alone doesn't make you the best. It is all the other elements that add up to make the the very best players.

    Alan Pardew

Of the active posters in here, I'd say the Pardew supporters have now outnumbered the Pardew haters Does seem like if someone criticises him "the gang" pop up and take over
  13. Sorry I didn't mean I genuinely felt bad for him I meant more it's a shame the modern climate in football meant that he was desperate to leave us and now is sat in the reserves most of the time for Chelsea. Don't feel sorry for him because he made his bed and to be honest, like you say is probably happy picking up his big wages. I can't say I have no affection for him though as he was a key part in one of our best seasons for a long long time.
  14. 2 weeks until that game - internationals next week. Goody, Colo can get injured again I think there is no chance Pardew will play Mapou and Colo together anytime soon after that Everton game. Rightly or wrongly I just can't see him doing it.
  15. Only just seen the goal he scored on Wednesday for Chelsea. Made me quite nostalgic about when he was banging them in for us. He was a quality finisher, particularly improvised volleys like the one he scored on Wednesday. Shame that he left us to barely get a game at Chelsea but feel he would have left eventually anyway to any number of clubs. Would have been good for him and Arsenal if that rumoured loan move had gone through.
  16. Brave to drop Williamson or Mapou after the last game. Don't think either deserve it.
  17. Yeah Hughton is the reason. Maybe Pardew is the reason Cisse can't score to save his life as well? If you want to watch over Norwich and show me the chances RVW is missing i'm happy to agree he’s lost it. The fact he's not getting the service to match his needs is the problem. Even the only goal he has scored to date was a half chance at best and he's pulled off a phenomenal header. I've seen nothing of him to suggest he's lost all ability since his flight over to England, i just don't think Norwich is the club he should be at. A lot of people wanted him here. He starts off poor so now it’s a good dodge? Suppose Bony is a good dodge as well? Yet Caulker who hardly anybody even batted an eye lid over has a good start to the season and suddenly we have missed out and should have signed him? A few people have said those things but I don't think everyone feels that way. Would I have taken Bony or RVW over nobody? Sure, but I wasn't keen on Bony from what I'd seen of him, thought his lack of mobility might mean he struggled and I'd never really seen Van Wolfswinkel other than the odd goal so didn't know much about him. Caulker I'd obviously have taken but with the fee being quite high If I had thought we had that sort of money (which we obviously didn't) I'd have preferred to spend it on a striker. All I was objecting to is, I know you hate Hughton, but you can't blame him for a striker stuggling to adapt to the league. All good strikers will atleast nick the odd goal here and there. Look at Fletcher at Sunderland in comparison to Altidore. Remy with us compared to Cisse. Even Hooper at Norwich compared to RVW has grabbed a few goals I believe?
  18. Yeah Hughton is the reason. Maybe Pardew is the reason Cisse can't score to save his life as well?
  19. There's been a fair few strikers who were prolific in Holland and then struggled badly in England: Kezman, Van Wolfswinkel, Alfonso Alves........Altidore Surprised clubs keep spending huge money on them. I guess there are some obvious notable exceptions like Van Nistlerooy and Van Persie.

    Loïc Remy

Yeah just wanted to say lets just enjoy him while he's here. If we sign him great if not then so be it. I mean Everton have got zero chance of signing Lukaku but I doubt it's going to stop them enjoying him playing for them this year. Unfortunately we're not showing much ambition in the transfer window so if we have to make do with a loan signing like Remy instead of no one or a free transfer crap like Shefki Kuqi then I'm happy we at least managed to get him in on loan.
  21. Forgive me for not keeping up, but is it a running joke that you like West Ham because you had the Nolan avatar and now the Ravel Morrison one? Or do you just genuinely like West Ham? Anyway I doubt Spurs will approach the game the same way they did Hull. The same way we didn't approach the Hull game the same way we did Chelsea.
  22. You'll have Ronaldo crying here, man. Leave it. We all know he's a liability, end of. I never said he was a liability. I just fear he's getting built up to be something he's not during this absence. I fear people may be a little disappointed when he comes back in and it takes him awhile to get up to speed.
