Anyone who looks at our squad and thinks it's ok having Shola Ameobi as No.2 starting centre forward in the premier league in 2013 doesn't belong in football.

The fact he is now saying that they were all happy with the squad. Are we to take this to mean that every time they have come out and said we want 2 strikers and maybe a winger etc was just total bullshit?

Yeah I was thinking those two examples you mentioned (cisse + gouffran) if we had Remy in those positions I think things could have been very different. Get the horrible feeling though that he is going to be injured a lot

If he stays, had a decent season and world cup he'd be worth far more than is being suggested. If other teams can hold on to players that want out but no one matches the value then so should we. Feels bit like Given all over again, can see us getting the piss taken out of us in terms of fee

Tell you what, there's been far more of a suggestion from the press, that he's under pressure, in the opening 2 games than their was all of last season. I know its bollocks but its good he's getting a bit of presssure because he got far to easy of a ride from the press last year.

Some of Anita's tackling today was textbook. Far better than Tiote's approach of just bulldozing his way through players.

On his heels all game. One of his worst performances for us so far and subbed instead of Shola which says a lot.

Once the rain came pouring down and the game got stretched the game suited us far better. Marv was taken off far too early. Gouff brought on far too late. Anita and Sissoko were decent in the middle, quite liked how they complemented eachother. Problems still remain. Need an out an out left winger and badly need a new striker who can hold up the ball and bring others into play (move more than Shola) 0 on target is shocking.

Shola stays on

Just the pure lack of attacking nous is shocking. I mean we're in the same situation again, If Ben Arfa goes down with another injury this season where exactly do our chances come from? I know he's been a bit selfish and wayward with his shooting but honestly there is nothing else on at the mo.

Shola is tragic man. Gave the ball away nearly everytime he was involved from what I saw.

Are people on the wind up in here? Do some really believe this is all down to Cabaye? If so we really have some gullible fans. Pardew has been quite blatantly trying to drum up interest in him all summer with his interviews. Then as soon as we get a bid we wrap him in cotton wool just incase he gets injured and we miss out on that lovely money.

Just a reminder this that not only is Tiote pretty shit these days but he also is incredibly injury prone the past few seasons. Another reason we shouldn't be relying on him.
