  1. Cardiff went from Blue to Red didn't they? Pretty sure Cardiff fans didn't have opportunity to vote against it? "2012: Owner Vincent Tan, with the aim of attracting investment and appealing to Asian markets, changed the home kit color to red. This change also included a new crest with a dragon. "
  2. 4th season in a row now with the green/white or white/green theme. Pretty obvious then that PIF have insisted on a Saudi coloured strip every year from now on then. Pretty grim and on one hand I think if Ashley had forced a red, white and blue Sports Direct kit we would have all been kicking off. But on the other, they are the owners and they could be complete twats and rebrand us completely including changing the home kit to Saudi green + white, so in that regard I'm probably grateful it's only the away strip that is effected, and until now the first few weren't awful.
  3. Don't feel he's done enough at Brighton to justify paying double for him what we would have paid 2 years ago. I know the fee is based on what Brighton would be willing to sell him at and not his true value but the point still applies from our perspective.

    Tino Livramento

Feels unfair for him to be playing that level. For his opponents I mean. Shame they have him playing left back though. Would like him to get back familiar playing right back ready for next season.

    The Other 18

Feel like that betting advertising ban has been coming in for about 3 years and it's still always "next year" Anyways I kinda agree with that article, never felt comfortable with the amount of betting ads all over sport. Felt like when I was growing up it was completely banned wasn't it? And you couldn't have it on football shirts and other things and then it got lifted and it went into hyperdrive. Can't work out if I object morally or just because the volume of betting companies and ads are so irritatingly shoved in our faces.

    England

Lost me with his weird squad selections already. Add in that the underperforming nations from recent years are starting to look decent again, the heat excuse for a USA world cup, and the fact we get beat when we eventually face someone decent in tournaments anyway and I don't hold much hope for success. Actually might be worse than Southgate if he loses that team togetherness that was cultivated and I wasn't a big fan of him but I could respect that he did bond the group together better than most we've had over the years. He just lacked that ruthlessness and tactical edge when it came to getting over the line.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Kudus would be good for us on the right. His best position and gets shunted to the left for WH to accommodate Bowen. But like many transfers, the time to sign him was for £30m the same time West Ham got him. Now they would want £50-60m.
  8. I know it was a bad season to judge him on when they went down 2 years ago. But he really did seem to struggle. Am I right in thinking corners in particular were a real weakness for him? Seems to have bounced back this year in the championship, but the standard and the lack of shots he faced thanks to their defence makes it hard to assess his true ability. If we do sign him, hopefully people have patience () as clearly we are buying him for the long term and there is bound to be a settling and adjustment period to playing in our stadium and in the champions league etc.

Araujo looked tragic this season when I saw him play, plus I seem to remember his injury record isn't great.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Think for the prices we'd be quoted from the selling clubs, you'd be looking at an outlay of atleast £250m for all that lot. I'd be stunned if we ever forked out that much in one window, especially under PSR rules. Not forgetting the wages that would need to be added in aswell.
  11. When did it become so common for people to write things in BLOCK CAPITALS for impact? Since Trump started doing it?
  12. Holy hell, I really don't want to go looking for that article or give the mail any clicks, but I am curious to what basis he could possibly form for that argument
  13. Ugh felt it coming. Caicedo alone probably cost more than their entire club. The commentator going on like this has been some sort of mammoth achievement.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Good possibility any deal was subject to them not getting promoted perhaps.
  15. Thought that's what it looked like
  16. Can see Betis fading sadly second half but they played a good first half. Would have been great if hey had taken that chance to go 2 up.
  17. See Chelsea fans were doing wonders for the reputation of British fans abroad once more.
  18. Betis look better than anything Man U or Spurs had to face in the apparently more superior competition.
  19. Yeah was the only downside of that final day that these guys also got to benefit and finish above us aswell. Want them to suffer and be consequenced but they never will be.
  20. Used to love abit of Betis back in the old revista de la liga days. Where the fuck did Isco go for about 5 years? He used to be quality for Madrid and then suddenly pops up and looks decent again for Betis.
  21. Yeah when he's laid back and quiet he actually comes across quite likeable. But it's almost like he ramped up the loudness and incessant laughter originally to cover his lack of football knowledge and then once that "character" was established he had to double down. The clips of the CBS show are him at his worst , "Brest...hahah", "who's your favourite on the show" etc. just pretty juvenile stuff. However I'm 36, I bet kids probably love him. He is young enough to just about get away with it, however Carragher on there is pretty embarrassing. Trying to keep up with Micah's level of loudness and silliness but it leads to things like his famous "loyal...not to Malick" moment which was just super awkward.

    Alexander Isak

Yeah watching back some of his performances earlier in the season compared to any of his games after missing that Liverpool league game and you can see the contrast. His athleticism and agility were different levels. As much as the rest of the media have jumped in the Isak train this year, I still think he's actually underrated. Because his numbers aren't matching his ability. Like last year he is playing many times hurt/fatigued and it's affecting his level of impact. If we can get suitable backup and be able to rest him correctly when required and not play him when he's clearly only about 30% fit, then his numbers are going closer to Salah and Haaland levels.

    aston villa

I wonder if there was a rule for these circumstances where a team can decide if they want a red card or to give a goal to the opposition, how many would choose goal? I know we would have certainly with Pope against Liverpool two years ago. I think Arsenal and Lehmann back in the 2006 CL final etc. I think going a goal down is far better than playing the majority of a match with ten men.

    Marc Guehi

Cb's are difficult to rate like that I find. We give ours alot of protection most of the time through our midfield. But when you see them get exposed there are few worse than Burn and Schar and possibly Botman (post injury so hard to judge), when they are left 1v1 etc. Whereas if an Akanji or VVD or Saliba etc are isolated they can hold their own most of the time. So whilst I appreciate our CB's for their individual qualities, I do feel they can also be a weakness if we ever open up too much and try to be more attacking.
