I thought it was the sort of game where he isn't half bad. Just asked to defend and then hoof it away when he gets it. Anything more and he struggles.

He almost skinned BAE in the first game of the season after giving him a massive head start He was on something in that game to be fair im not saying he's slow by any stretch just he hasn't got a great top speed but he has superb acceleration meaning he gets the better of players more often than not.

He's never been rapid, well not since the broken leg. He just has great acceleration and close control but would likely lose in a foot race against most full backs. Agree though he was noticeably fatigued when chasing liverpool players but still went on a few long sprints in the 2nd half.

yeah his all round game is very poor this season. Wondering if it was as bad last year but we didn't notice due to him scoring every game.

Must not risk williamson, taylor, simpson,santon,krul,anita,jonas,ben arfa,cisse. If the injuries to cabaye and ba are serious. Were strong in the europe league so far so i'd prefer to risk losing this game than risk losing to another Fat sam team at st.james'

Our season just cannot get going Need back to back wins from somewhere and to somehow get our first choice 11 all on the pitch but injuries, suspensions and form have halted that so far/

Has it always been 3 game ban for red cards? I thought it used to be 1 and then 3 if it's violent conduct like smacking someone in the face? 3 premier league games is a big deal for a mistimed tackle. Particularly in Tiote's case as he was a split second from getting the ball and in Coloccini's he didn't actually touch Suarez despite the alleged "intent". Just feel 3 games in harsh.

The three games he misses could have been worse but combined now with the still missing tiote for 1 more game plus injuries to Perch, Ba and Cabaye it's going to be tough. Still annoys the crap out of me that 2 of our key players have got 3 game bans already this year and more annoyingly for fouls that most of the time are either yellow cards or not given. But neither Tiote nor Coloccini can complain as they were both unprofessional in the way they went in for the tackles. Would have helped having been in the League cup a bit longer as other clubs use that to to reduce players suspensions.
