  1. Not that I buy it, but I would take Harewood at 1.5 over Beckford at anything.
  2. There's a fine line between having too much contact and not enough and NUST still haven't gotten it right.
  3. This is definitely something I thought about today while watching Carr captain a side in the top half of the Prem tonight when he was dubbed not good enough by a vast majority of our fans. What I find interesting while reading through this thread is the reluctance to blame any of this on the fans of our club, and when someone has brought it up, I find it odd that it's almost exclusively foreign posters (like myself) that see this as an issue. There definitely seems to be a different type of culture surrounding our club that isn't as prevalent at other clubs around the country (from what I've read) - it's almost like there is some sense of entitlement. I see it every day on this forum, everyone is very volatile when it comes to their feelings about a certain player but more often than not it's very negative and the negativity happens very quickly. Also, players are given no where near enough time to acclimate to the surroundings of SJP. We have to take into consideration the fact that we have one of the biggest fan bases in England and that has got to be very intimidating for a foreign (or any) player - especially when they go out and put in one abject performance and are never given the chance to get back into the good graces of the fans. We have a lot of responsibility considering our numbers and passion, I just think everyone needs to look at themselves and see how they use that power. We could be the best model club in the league but we are very very far from it. This is not a place people are clambering to come play at - Premiership or not. And just so we're clear, I am not blaming this solely on the fans, but there is definitely a percentage of this equation that involves the supporters of this club.
  4. So glad Fletcher got sent off, what a piece of shit that guy is. Probably my most hated player in the Prem. Always the first guy complaining on the pitch and in the ref's face and he's always putting in retaliation tackles that could seriously injure people.
  5. Offside Goal? You can't have an offside own goal.
  6. He won't, but everyone seems excited anyway.
  7. hah, you'd be surprised. I say "dude" a lot when describing other guys/my dad and I call each other dude but other than that the only other surfing-style word I use regularly is stoked, and I describe thing as awesome often, but I don't think that's really exclusive to that style of talking anymore.
  8. Is anyone on here around that age? Sometimes I fucking feel like there are people that age around here with some of the shit that gets said.
  9. How old are you guys? 14? 16?

First you call me Alan Oliver, now this. I see no friendship for us. Road-side chicken places in Georgia/Alabama/South Carolina/etc will change your life.

Looks shit. Although I am from the South where chicken reigns supreme.
  12. Carew has been injury prone as hell hasn't he? Will fit right in at Spurs.
  13. His goal at Man U was a combo of three things: bad defending, bad goalkeeping, and tons of luck. Hardly a game changer when it comes to his level of skill.
  14. Now before I'd experienced London myself, I'd have agreed. Until I went down there in September, out of Heathrow and onto said UNDERGROUND. Five minutes later we were above ground! That's not an Underground at all! I've been on the Underground many times, admittedly more centrally, usually Victoria to Highbury but a couple of times it has happened seems to be the outskirts mainly? It's outside a lot around Wimbeldon is it not? I seem to remember that from what I was over there.
  15. I wonder if any player would ever have the brass to pull a stunt like that - not getting a wanted transfer and then blatantly scoring an own goal.

Always liked him after his weekly blog-type-thing on the bbc a few years back. Seems a genuinely nice guy.
  17. Rafa really is strange. Wouldn't even give Babel a chance upfront while they were missing Torres. Pretty sure he would have done as good a job and likely even better than what N'Gog did. Rafa really has messed him about completely. He still really young though so he should still be okay, but he really should be looking to get out of there. Babel comes across as quite a schmuck so it wouldn't surprise me if Rafa is just icing him on the bench to deflate his ego a bit.
  18. many will say it means we'll sell taylor for 4mill. Not that I want it to happen, but I think we'd cash in Colo before Taylor.
  19. I've seen a few things about him here and he just seems a bit dumb and acts like he's gangsta from time to time which is really off putting.
  20. I wish he wasn't such an idiot, 'cause Dempsey is playing really well and showing great for the US.
  21. Me too, would do wonders here too with our small budget. He has a really long contact list across Europe.
  22. Didn't really need to reply to them because your first post makes a lot of sense, probably too much sense for some. Although, you have made some really good points again with this post.
  23. Would feel really bad for Burnley is Coyle made the switch. I've got a lot of time for Burnley because they play a certain style that is attractive but more importantly they stick to it no matter what. Even when they were getting battered 4-0 by Chelsea they stuck to their guns and kept it on the ground and passed it around like they always do. It's great to watch a team come up that can play some football and not resort to long-ball.
