Or “lining”… Cheers, you’ve messed up my work day now .
-
Cool, thanks! True or not, it’s infuriating me that I can’t think of any players that rhyme with Chris Wood ffs.
-
They have that thing that most well-run clubs have where they’ll hire someone with a similar playing identity.
-
Dunno. Southampton don’t tend to go for established names, feel like it’ll be some hipsterish appointment like Gerhard Struber of New York Red Bulls.
-
@Unbelievable Yep. He’s past it now, unfortunately.
-
Same. First game I’ll miss this season. Gutter.
-
Ability-wise he’s barely a PL player now tbf.
-
This speedy bastard will be the best CB in the league one day. On performances alone he’s up there already; crazy good for someone so young.
-
Assuming Kuol is able to join up in Jan; Maddison, a DM and a highly rated right-back prospect would be perfect.
-
Wait. Are we 3rd???
-
I was bricking it there. Fucking Var, man.
-
Can’t do anything with this fucking ref.
-
Won’t be a pen. Ridiculous.
-
Not at it today. These are very cynical too.
-
Wonder if we’ll see ASM on the bench at least.
-
* Raphinha, not Richarlison.
-
I see your point but, stats aside, Richarlison was widely considered to be the best attacking player outside the top 6. Basing your business model on the expectation that you’ll unearth a Richarlison-level player every time you speculate on a 30m 18 year-old is slightly optimistic. Thats not to say that what we’re trying isn’t super exciting though!

Might just be an online thing but they’re seemingly weirdly obsessed with getting one over on us. Makes sense I suppose, in the summer we were in a similar bracket (alongside West Ham) for attracting players to shake up the “big 6”. Inshallah we’ll be considered in a higher tier next summer.
-
Fair enough, but the player has to do exceptionally well to be considered by any of those teams you’ve mentioned. It’s become a riskier proposition now for sure.
-
A few of these lads could end up being flipped for a profit later on, so maybe that’s entered their thinking? I think the issue now is the policy of selling players for a profit; most, if not all, PL teams can’t act like stepping stones anymore. If a player does well in the Premier League, you have to hope a bigger PL team swoops in as 99% of teams in the world wouldn’t be able to match the asking price. If the player wants a move to a bigger European team that has been priced out, he’ll just run his contract down. It’s becoming quite the challenge.
-
No idea but I wouldn’t imagine so; especially with the numbers being talked about. Seems like too obvious a loophole to exploit.
-
We’re due an annoying loss tbf. None would be more annoying than getting beat by this lot at home.
-
Not sure why I’m saying this but he seems like a Villa signing. I like his versatility and there’s a lot for Howe to work with but it just seems like every good season he has is followed by a poor one. His 20/21 (?) season he looked amazing but hasn’t been anywhere near since. Centre-mid is such an important position; I’d rather we get an absolute blockbuster of a player in the 35m+ Tier than gamble on someone like McKennie tbh.
-
Yeah, what does that even mean? We agreed a price with who, ourselves?

Haway, don’t chug your bisto too fast pal. Only 3 points ahead of Fulham right now.
