He’d be great but I assume he’ll be going to Atletico, no? Can see us battling with Villa on a few signings this summer.
-
Aye, I’m assuming he’s just being ironic with regards the Saudi gentleman on the right.
-
If someone came to me and told me in December (after 1 win in 20 games) that Howe would have us in 11th and on 40 points by the end of April, I would have said who are you? Get out of my home, I’m trying to sleep. Fantastic stuff.
-
We know how to win games now and it’s fucking magic. Well done to Howe and the lads, amazing stuff.
-
I’ll happily put my hands up and admit that I am history’s biggest piece of shit and didn’t see us picking up another 30 points.
-
Oh ffs. Get in! 3 points for us though.
-
Probably because looks like a prefect.
-
Think he’s shot. Was never quick but looks almost diplegic on the ball these days.
-
Matetas runs are pulling our defenders out of position. Palace look better with him on the field.
-
He’ll want Champions League you’d imagine. Seria A defender of the year 2 years running now** so will have no shortage of suitors. It’s so refreshing to see us at least try for this caliber of player though. “A club that tries” etc. **Edit. Just checked wiki, not officially it seems. Must have been some writers award or something that I read

My memory for football matches is atrocious but I guess I’d go for the 8-0 against Sheffield Wednesday. Sir Bobby’s home debut and Shearer (who I idolized at the time) scoring 5; what a special game.
-
Paqueta is lush but, if I’m honest, if we’re only getting one big money midfielder I’d rather have someone more sturdy ala Philips or Sangare. Harsh on Joelinton (and possibly Willock) but in an absolute dreamworld we’d have a midfield 3 of: Paqueta Philips and Bruno. Never gonna happen but man that would be crazy.

Think this may be down to circumstances though; Tammy was brought through one of best youth academies in the world while the other was at Northampton. As we know, Toney’s move to us was a poor one in hindsight and really set him back. Still think there isn’t that much between the 2 ability-wise (imo obviously). Tammy would be the surer bet, but that’ll be reflected heavily in the asking price. Safe to say I’d be delighted with either

You’re right with regards to being proven; Abraham is undoubtedly the more proven striker thus far. I was being selective because it’s the only real apples to apples analysis I could find. Abraham in the PL at Chelsea and Toney in the PL at Brentford isn’t a particularly fair comparison imo.
-
I think it’s fair to say he’s still a very poor and limited player but credit where it’s due, seems a very honest professional, extremely coachable and has been nothing but dependable in Trippier’s absence. Hope he keeps it up.
-
Not sure there’s much between the 2, personally. Similar goal scoring records in the championship and I think he’s probably slighter better suited to how we play. His price-tag would likely be 20 million or so less than TA as well…
-
Yup. I’m sure this summer we’ll be looking at an upgraded Josh King type to play behind the main striker; I think he sees Joelinton as that but, despite having everything else, we all know he lacks the goals for that kind of role. Someone like Angel Corea would be perfect, however unrealistic that may be.

This guy gets it.
-
Ugh. Want a Burnley win.
-
Isak passes the eye test in general play but last I checked he was on less goals than Joselu in the Spanish league. For a similar price Abraham looks the more effective / less risky option for the PL.
-
Trossard is really underrated, really like him.
-
He’s said some lovely stuff about us since tbf to him.
-
Loved Merino while he was here but leaving because he was homesick/ not getting game time (due to other players finding form) was a bit shit. I think we have a similar player in Bruno now and I’d probably prefer to supplement BG with someone with more tenacity and athleticism like a Philips or a Sangare etc.

Burnley: Pope, McNeil, Cornet Norwich: Aarons and one or two of their young players Tsolis (quite highly rated before he went there) and Maccalum (not sure how he’s been doing at QPR)?
